Dell Latitude D620 Computer Won't Connect To Internet
Nov 10, 2011My main computer is an apple mac and it is connected to the internet via a sky router. I have two lap tops one connects to the wirless network this one a dell latitude d620 does not. The icon in bottom right corner states wireless connection not connected but i have tried everything but it just wont connect. I can connect by using a local area connection by connecting the lap top to my router?

Jun 8, 2011I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and have Just upgrade my wireless deal with BT to Infinity with a new BTHomeHub3.0. The Dell will connect to the internet and I can see it's working because some of my programs can use the internet to function but when I try to use the internet it just stops loading at 5 bars on IE but then stops. I have tried a system restore but this has not done anything and tried a different browser but the same thing has happend.

Oct 16, 2012I have Dell Latitude D620 and bought it refurbished, I did NOT recieve a backup drivers and utilities disk with the laptop. The computer worked fine for about a year I had no problems accessing the Internet at all. Then it crashed and I had to reinstall Windows XP. After reinstalling Windows XP it will not connect to the Internet at all. Even with the ethernet cord directly to the modem. Since it will not connect to the internet I can not do a diagonostics to see what driver it needs. I have tried downloading a few onto my other laptop and then use flash drive to install it on the Dell but have not had any luck with finding the correct driver. I am not that computer savvy and do not know what type of wireless card I even have.

When I try to install the first one I got the failure message "BASS_REL_5_6 456".I am able to install the second one, but I still got the message, that the WIFI-/LAN-Hardware is uninstalled. Therefore I still can't access to the internet with this computer.

Mar 18, 2011I have a Dell (Latitude D620) with a wireless connection and a RJ-45 network connection. I use my wireless for my internet connection, and want to allow other computers (on the wired network) to share my wireless internet connection. The problem is that all forums I have found merely say "click the enable connection sharing checkbox". This does not work, as that option is not available on my wireless conn. It is available on the wired conn. I also received a message saying that the connection wizard can only be run as network administrator. I have a home network...I am all the administrators. I am using Intel PROSet/Wireless for my wireless connection.

Mar 9, 2012I am using a wireless connection via router to access internet at home. When my Dell Latitude E6510 Laptop is not on the Dell Docking Station and I'm using as just standalone I can access my wireless connection easily, no problem at all.However, when I attached my laptop to my Dell Docking Station, I can not access my wireless connection. The wireless connection is found, but when I click connect to network, I get "Windows cannot found network". When I remove the laptop from the docking station, I find the wireless connection and connect perfectly and it works normal.I am using Windows 7. I can connect to internet with straight wire going to docking station easily, but no wireless connection found when laptop is on the docking station. I work from home and use the docking station for two monitors for doing my job. I have struggle with this problem for two weeks now. I don't see anything on the docking station that's preventing me from access my wireless connection.

I looked up similar problems on this blog: a) cleared the DNS cache, b) downloaded windows XP- service pack 3, & 3 network software recommended for my laptop by Dell from the website and updated to the Intel PROSET/Wireless WIFI connection utility, d) ran ipconfig/all from C prompt and know the ethernet connections are disabled, e) called and checked with our local ISP and cleared the connection from their end. To sum it, I have tried everything I know and am still not able to maintain a steady connection to the net using WIFI. However I am able to connect using the cable to the router, so my net provider said the problem is with the wireless connection on the laptop. I didnt have this problem before.

When the users travel between locations, they sometimes find when they turn the laptops back on that the ethernet connection is disabled. Its not the wi fi switched off, but the actual ethernet connection in control panel is disabled.

Apr 15, 2012My ethernet connection device does not seem to be working. I already tried to trouble shoot it, but nothing worked. First, I have checked that the ethernet cable, and internet port are working properly. Then, i have looked in the device manager, and it indicates that my wired connection device are detected and enabled. However, when I connect a network cable to the ethernet jack on my laptop, there is no network light showing up. I have also updated the BIOS and wired network driver.

Feb 6, 2011problem with my Dell Latitude D600 Laptop,I tried re-installing my OS, so now with a fresh new OS the wireless capabilities worked fine, but only for the first day, then the next morning the whole problem began again. Now it would say " No supported wireless adapters found" and when i would open the device manager some devices would have the yellow exclamation point, some of the devices would say "Intel PCIC compatible PCMICA controller" and " PCMICA MTD-0002" or just "card bus controller" and many other ones that would alternate when they appear. And also sometimes my network adapters would completely disappear from the list. I also tried scanning my whole drive for viruses and nothing was found.
Then i found that if you disconnect the wireless adapter physically and re connect it, it might work, but it didn't. I should also add that before this problem for some time i had another problem with the same laptop that had to do with the battery malfunctioning, and it displays a 4 orange , 1 green pattern sequence on the LED charge display. But it had never affected any of the laptops hardware or software before, so I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.

Aug 6, 2011I have WIN XP installed on my DELL E6410 Latitude laptop. When I start my laptop, it acquires the internet connection fine, whether wireless or the wired connection.However on the wired connection, if I unplug the cable and replug it, it does not get the connection. It shows Limited connectivity or no connection. If I try to repair, it says , the IP address could not be renewed. Nothing works but restarting the laptop.Same is the case with wireless connection at home. The first time it catches the wireless fine. However if the system gets locked because of inactivity, and I unlock it, I am left with LIMITED CONNECTIVITY or NO CONNECTION message on the Wireless. I need to restart my comp because the repair or the disable and enable of WLAN does not facilitate.

Oct 28, 2012I have a Dell Latitude E6510 with a DW1520 Wireless-N WLAN half-mini card. I used to have a D-Link router which broke down so I purchased a new router which is a Linksys E2500. I changed the configuration on my laptop to use WPA instead of WEP. My router is configured with fixed channels (not auto). My internet connection is continuously being dropped and I have to re-logon to everything (very annoying with vpn tunnels). All my other desktops/laptops in the house work without problems.

The unit can not see the router right next to it and the wifi can see several other routers in the area. We tryed to use the microsoft install wifi driver with the same problem! My question is can the router be blocking my laptop out? Laptopis a G device and the router is an N device but works with another laptop in the house.
The difference could be the incription used laptop uses 128 and the router is set to 64?

Jul 1, 2011I'm having a problem using this Dell Latitude. It's always having these connection fits where it randomly disconnects & then reconnects to our wireless internet. I'm always seeing the internet icon in the toolbar either on "Acquiring network address" or "Not connected", and when the internet is working, the icon doesn't even show up in the toolbar. This keeps on stopping me from doing stuff like posting in forums (I was lucky to be able to post this :P), logging into my email, etc. This problem, however, never existed on the Compaq, so I know it's not the signal. Is there any way to keep it from disconnecting constantly?

Feb 26, 2011I finally moved on from my Dell Latitude, I purchased a Lenovo today.Just set up Windows 7 on it, but I am having a real problem...I have looked everywhere on the Internet for a fix and can't seem to find it.I am trying to connect to my home network, belkin54g, but am being told "No Internet access." Under Device Manager, I have two network adapters listed, a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. My network is set up as such...My dad's Mac has the router/modem wired to it, and every other computer connects wirelessly. MY connection is set up as a Windows 7 "Home" network. When hovering over the wireless icon thing at the bottom right of the screen, it gives the network name in bold, then No Internet access in italics right below. I am connected to the home network for sure though, because when I view devices on this network, I see my brothers laptop listed. Most recently I tried to do a Winsock reset from the Command Prompt, but it didn't work.

I was just following the directions I had been given). Since the re-image, I cannot connect to the internet whatsoever. With a cable or wirelessly. My computer recognized the wireless networks I had at my house before the re-image, but there is no longer a wireless adapter even under my "network adapters." Moreover, every single "Other device" has a yellow exclamation point next to it. I cannot connect to any internet at all to remedy the problem and am at a loss for what to do.

It works fine on 3 notebooks, while on 2 notebooks the VPN connection fails with error:

Reason 403: Unable to contact the security gateway
We use a smartcard for VPN access (etoken from Aladdin)

It seems the problem is in the certificate, but I verified and Cisco client says it's ok. It's also the only valid certificate in MMC->Certificates->Personal.Furthermore, also using other smartcard (etokens) of other users it doesn't work.

Jun 4, 2009I had to reformat a Dell Latitude D830 with XP Pro SP2 due to a trojan. After XP was reinstalled, I inserted the cds which contain the drivers and such for my system. I installed the drivers and utilities, but for some reason when I plug my ethernet cable into the laptop, it says there is "Little or No Connectivity". I plugged the same ethernet cord into the desktop I am currently using, and it works just fine. The connection comes straight from the wall to the computer with no router or modem involved.
