Oct 6, 2012
I am using a Dell XPS M1530 laptop. I had to re-install the OS as it was infected by some virus. Now the problem is I am not able to connect to the internet. Network adapters are not showing any wireless adapters. They show 1) bluetootth device ( Personal Area Network) and 2) Bluetootth Device ( RFCOMM Protocol TDI). No wireless adapters.

I bought a used XPS M1530 from a friend a few months ago and he told me it did have Bluetooth, but I've tried everything I can think of and can't get it to work. I went to computer management services, it's says it's set to automatic and is running, nothings happening.

The wifi/bluetooth on my Dell XPS M1530 with an Intel 4965AGN wifi adapter erratically blinks off and on, flashing the status on the screen. This began happening about a year ago, but eventually stopped doing it. Now it's begun again. Flashing on and off is intermittent, but it's been happening more and more frequently--5-10 times/hr now. Sometimes it just flashes on and off once, sometimes, more rarely, 10-15 times.
This happens in Vista, Vista safe mode, as well as Ubuntu run from a USB key. That leads me to believe that it's a problem with the hardware. If I turn the wifi switch on the side of the computer off, it does shut the wifi off; turning the switch back on turns wifi on, but sometimes as soon as it's on, the wifi/bluetooth will start blinking on and off on screen. I have tried taking the adapter out and putting it back in a couple times. This didn't seem to change anything.

I recently formatted my XPS M1530 and installed Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate on it. Everything works flawless, except for the wireless. I have tired installing the Vista drivers available on the Dell website but it did not work. I have tired several other drivers (compatible with my product) also, but they too dint work. Infact, my bluetooth doesnt even work.

I currently have a 4 year old Dell XPS M1530 that recently died due to an rough impact. About to buy a new Dell XPS 15 and was wondering if I can easily swap my Sprint Mobile Broadband Card between the two. And if so would I only need to download a new driver for it? I am currently grandfathered in with Unlimited Data on my current card plan and I would hate to have to get a new one requiring a new contract with Limited Data.

I just installed Windows 7 on my M1530, and everything works flawlessly...EXCEPT bluetooth. I downloaded the drivers from the dell website (for vista 32bit), but when I try to install it says "Press Fn+F2 or turn on the wireless switch". The wireless switch is already on, and I press Fn+F2, but to no avail. It worked fine on Vista Home Premium 32bit. I tried running the install file in compatibility mode too, to no avail. how to make it work?

Problem I've been having with my laptop. Following the directions of a Dell technician while trying to resolve a separate problem, I deleted the partitions on my hard drive and manually reinstalled both Vista and all the drivers that were on the Dell CD that came with my laptop. When I tried connecting to the internet, Vista said I did not have any wireless networking hardware, but before the reinstallation it worked just fine. I am able to connect to the internet using a wired connection, but my wireless adapter still isn't working. I use Windows Vista 32-bit SP1

My wireless adapter that came inside the computer can connect to a network, but i do not have internet access. i had to go out and buy a external wireless adapter.
The external adapter was working fine for about three weeks, until i logged in one day and it said the same thing as internal adapter. "connected to the internet. no internet access"
Ive did research and tried some of the fixes on the web. But nothing worked. So i finally tried a system restore and it worked.
The next day when i logged on, i had the same problem again and the only thing that fixed it was another system restore. i didnt download or make any changes in between the two system restores.
my external adapter problem, and my internal adapter to work incase my external malfunctions again.

I have a dell inspiron 15 r and it won't connect to the internet. I've tried my university's wireless internet, and my internet at home. Both connections work for other devices, so the problem is not the source. The problem is specifically my laptop. It says that it is connected, but both Chrome and IE show error pages (i.e. Site not found, dns lookup failed, etc.)

I have an Inspiron 518 running Windows Vista. I was having so many problems with the computer that I did a complete manual re-install of Windows. When I completed this (and I tried it twice) the system won't recognize any internet connections. I changed none of the wiring (I have an ethernet cable connection).

I have a dell laptop and its operating on Windows XP,I have followed several options from researching on the internet on how to fix the problem but nothing has worked so far. I am NOT computer whiz by far,I just know basic stuff. It shows its connected to my wireless modem but it keeps saying "AQUIRING IP ADDRESS", the address is saying "O". There are no numbers when I place the mouse over it. I went to the properties and advanced settings and changed the WINS. I tried restoring my computer to the earliest setting I could.

My computer is a Dell inspiron 6000. It's old and slow but has never had any trouble connecting to the Internet until now. I just moved to a new house so I deleted all old networks and tried to connect to the new wifi, which works on my roomates laptop and on my iPhone. I click connect and it says waiting for connection and then prompts me with "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. " but tjis network is at full strength and at the top of my networks in range list.

So my old dell computer cannot connect to wireless internet, so it is connected to a Netgear internet bridge box. The other bridge box is in the basement where it is connect to the modem. I believe the location of the other box is almost directly below were my computer stand (and bridge box) used to be.I recently I moved it to different corner of my house that is about 15 feet further than the previous location. Now the wired internet speed is almost unbearable and inconsistent. The wireless speed is the same, but wired is really bad. I believe it is because the bridge boxes are further away from each other.I've tried unplugging and replugging, resetting, and etc.I would really like to know how I can fix this without moving the computer back since the furniture is in a really nice place and the computer would ruin the look.

I finally moved on from my Dell Latitude, I purchased a Lenovo today.Just set up Windows 7 on it, but I am having a real problem...I have looked everywhere on the Internet for a fix and can't seem to find it.I am trying to connect to my home network, belkin54g, but am being told "No Internet access." Under Device Manager, I have two network adapters listed, a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and a Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. My network is set up as such...My dad's Mac has the router/modem wired to it, and every other computer connects wirelessly. MY connection is set up as a Windows 7 "Home" network. When hovering over the wireless icon thing at the bottom right of the screen, it gives the network name in bold, then No Internet access in italics right below. I am connected to the home network for sure though, because when I view devices on this network, I see my brothers laptop listed. Most recently I tried to do a Winsock reset from the Command Prompt, but it didn't work.

the 2400 and Wifi though I was unable to find anything specific enough for my scenario.I'm trying to connect my Dell 2400 Desktop to wireless internet using a Wifi USB...It is able to connect to the Router, but unable to connect to the internet. I've gone and downloaded the suggested drivers for the desktop, though still having the same issue. In the bottom right corner of the taskbar it will show a strong connection to the router, though I have a LAN connection that says " Local Area Connection: A Network Cable Is Unplugged" and it lists the connection through Broadcom. Here is the relevant information I have (judging from what previous posts have looked for).First Up, the Wifi USB I'm using is a NetGear WNDA3100V2 GenieI've gone an done the ipconfig, and tried pinging sites, though the pings timed out and returned nothing. The results of the ipconfig are:
