Dell :: N5010 No Automatic Internet Connection After Sleep / Hibernate

Oct 2, 2011

My laptop is an Inspiron N5010 running the standard Windows 7 64bit. When returning from sleep/hibernate, the internet wont connect automatically. And there is a little red cross over the Internet access icon in the bottom left. After I click to connect to the network it still cannot make the connection. And a yellow '!'' appears over the icon. After I  click 'Troubleshoot problems" it will make connection though it can take a minute till its up.

I have checked the option to automatically connect to the network in range. And this used to work fine, but somehow it doesnt work correctly anymore.I have the latest bios and network drivers already.

Wifi Turns Off During Sleep And Hibernate?

Jan 9, 2013

just three days ago my wi-fi quits working when the computer goes to sleep mode. The box in power management is unchecked. This seems to have started after a McAfee update that created screen blanking issues corrected by Dell and McAfee. I can find no reason so have turned off the sleep. Device driver is up to date.

Dell :: Inspiron 1520 / 1390 WLAN - Unable To Connect Internet After Hibernate

Jan 1, 2008

I just got an Inspiron 1520 for Christmas. So I have only been using it a few days. The first day I set up the internet connection I had no problem but now when my computer goes into sleep mode or hibernate mode I lose internet connection and it won't reconnect. It will seach for a network, then say that I have limited access or the network is unidentified.  I have to either disconnect from the network and reconnect and sometimes I even have to restart the laptop to get the connection back. I have the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini card.

Dell :: 1510 / Wireless Connection Takes Forever To Connect After Laptop Comes Out Of Sleep Mode

Feb 12, 2012

I have a Dell E4300 with a 1510 wireless mini adapter running windows 7 pro with a netgear WNR3500 router running wireless N protocol.  I have my laptop setup to sleep when lid is closed.  When it awakens the wireless connection will not automatically reconnect and I have to manually select the SSID and connect.  It will also reconnect if I use the network troubleshooter.  The problem does not happen if I reboot the PC or start from a power off situation.  I have the latest Dell driver and I am running the DWLAN utility.

Internet Connection Goes To Sleep When Not In Use?

Mar 10, 2013

My mother's ISP is an AT&T DSL connection. She just had her PC connected directly to her modem for several years, so I eventually got her a router so when her kids and grand kids came to visit they could use wifi. It was a very basic and inexpensive Belkin model, but I don't recall the model number. The problem was the Internet connection would become inactive every time the desktop PC that was connected to router via Ethernet would go to sleep. The only way to get the Internet connection back was to wake up the desk top PC. I checked all of the router settings, googled to see if I could find similar problems, etc... and never could fix it; so I eventually set up my trusty old wrt54g at her house. It worked fine in my home for years; and when I set it up at her house, it still had all of my original network settings in it. I just changed the network name and password. But the same issue is still there. Every time the desktop PC goes to sleep... The router loses Internet connection and does not get it back until the desk top is made active again

Dell :: Inspiron N5010 / Getting A Consistent Network Connection

Mar 3, 2013

I have a Inspiron N5010 and I am having issues getting a consistent network connection. This is occurring over Wireless and Ethernet. I have tried new drivers for both the wireless and the LAN devices. We have tried this over a direct wall jack(known good) and a VOIP phone(also known good jack). We are having issues with SSL and IPSEC VPN as well but im not certain they are completely related as they VPN is at his home and the network issues are at the office.

Dell :: Can't Connect To Internet Via Wi-Fi On Inspiron 15R (N5010)

Jun 4, 2012

I recently started facing this problem. My laptop shows list of available wifi hotspots but cant connect to any wifi network.

i am using correct SSID and password. I tried to reinstall wifi drivers and initially it solved the problem.

But it keeps coming back. This fix stopped working one day and even reinstalling the driver wont work.

Then I deleted the driver, downloaded latest drivers from dell site and installed them. It worked but again fix was not permanent.

I also tried connecting to wifi network in "safe mode with networking" but that did not work either.

Now I am not able to connect to internet via wifi and no solution seems to work.

My laptop details:
Model: Dell Inspiron N5010
OS: Windows 7 Home premium SP1
Processor: i3
RAM: 4 GB

Dell :: Studio 1737 / 1397 WLAN - MS Virtual Wi-Fi Miniport Adapter Dead After Hibernate

Oct 22, 2011

I have a Dell Studio Laptop 1737 with Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card and Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Some days ago, I bought a HP WiFi mouse (model LQ083AA). This mouse connects via WiFi and you need no USB-port for a transmitter. Very practical - if it would work probably.First I installed the SW delivered with the mouse. During this installation, also the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" was installed. The mouse connects via this adapter. And everything worked fine. The mouse was found, a connection was established and the mouse worked like a charm. Until I went to sleep. As usually, I hibernated the notebook. And after waking up the notebook from hibernate, the mouse did not work anymore. I found out it is because the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" does not wake up correctly. After a reboot, everything works again. And if I use the HP software to reestablish the connection, I receive the error "SoftAP is not available".

I tried several things:I un-installed the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" in the device manager and checked for new HW to install it again. But after it was installed again, it still did not work.In the device manager, I disabled "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" and enabled it again - but it stayed disabled.I updated the driver.I changed energy management, allowed the computer to switch of power of the adapter resp. disallowed that.Nothing I did worked. After hibernate, the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" is "dead". Only a reboot works. The WiFi mouse is such a great Idea, but the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" is such a mess.

Dell :: Inspiron N5010 Internet Icon Displaying Incorrect Image

Jan 18, 2013

I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron N5010.

I have had this problem for several weeks, and have searched all over to find a solution (tried them all, but none have fixed it). I have a good wireless internet connection, and sometimes I use ethernet. Despite having such connections, my wireless internet icon doesn't change, as it seems to keep getting stuck on the icon which shows a red x over the ethernet image.

It will show the blue loading ring with the bars as it searches for a wireless connection for a little bit, but then it goes to the same, incorrect icon, even though when I put the cursor over the icon it says "Internet Access".

So far, I've tried deleting the Icon Cache and rebooting, as it was suggested that it could be potentially corrupted, but the internet icon stays the same. I have also tried searching for a driver that could be potentially related to the issue and uninstalling it, but it didn't work. The red x went away for a moment, being replaced by a loading blue ring, but then the red x returned (same icon image).

Is there a specific driver for the icon itself? I know I had to uninstall a driver then reboot to get my battery icon back after it mysteriously disappeared. I also have tried deactivating/reactivating my wireless connection by hitting the button, but it doesn't change.

Dell :: Vostro 3350 - Wireless Card Not Recognized After Sleep / Reboot

Feb 17, 2013

I have a dell vostro 3350. I use it with both Windows and Linux OS (Mint, Ubuntu).

Recently I faced an issue with my motherboard  (I guess it was a matter of short-circuit) so I called the Dell assistance and they quickly came out and substitute my motherboard. After that intervention, my wi-fi and figerprint reading stopped working at all. So I called again Delle assistance and they substituted both the wi-fi and the fingerprint reader. Everything seemed to work fine... since my PC went in hibernate mode.

In fact now the wi-fi card is disabled (not even seen by the OS) after the PC goes in sleep/hibernate mode or even if it is turned off and than on again. I need to turn off and on the PC at least one more time the PC in order to make the wi-fi card found (and working) again.

I checked with all the three OS I have in my PC so I guess the issue isn't related to the drivers. On the other hand, it looks like the wi-fi works totally fine... when it works. It is quite a systematic effect and not related to bumps or mechanical sullicitations, so I guess it is not a matter of wrongly-connected card either..

Dell :: Inspiron M5110 - Laptop Will Not Connect To Wireless Automatically After Sleep Mode

Feb 10, 2013

I have a Dell Inspirion M5110. Windows 7, 64 bit.

When ever I open the lid to the laptop it takes 5-10 mins before it will automatically connect to a network. Diagnose this network does not find anything, nor provides any troubleshooting.  Typically if I open the network connections center and disable the wireless, let it sit for 30 secs or so, and re-enable, it will finally connect.

I know it's not my router, as the laptop does the same thing at work, and multiple different friends house.

I've confirmed that DHCP is set to automatic connect. I've also checked Device Manager/Network adapters/ and unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Dell Inspiron N5010 - Can't Connect To Any Network

Feb 1, 2013

My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established

the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)
