I had a hd crash and had to re-installl Window7 on my Studio XPS 8100. I've installed all the drivers from the dell site as well as the H57 chipset drivers from Intel. I still have 2 devices that won't install (Ethernet Controller and PCI Simple Communication Controller). I can't get on-line.
I havea Dell Studio XPS 8100 with 64 bit operating system, running Windows 7 HomePremium w/ Service Pack 1. I purchased the computer in January 2011.
AfterI purchased the computer I purchased a NETGEAR Wireless Router to set up aWireless connection to two Lap Top computers but since my Desktop was merelytwo feet from the Router I hard wired it to the Router with an Ethernet Cable.
Irecently moved to a new location and found that I had to connect the XPSA 8100to a Wireless Router. I purchased a newer NETGEAR 27, and had no issuesconnecting the Laptop Computers to the new Router regardless of the distancefrom the router.
WhenI attempted to make a Wireless connection to the XPS 8100, It gave me a message“Microsoft Virtual WIFI Miniport Adapter Unable to Connect with a CODE 31”.
In reviewingmy Network Adapters I found both the “Microsoft Virtual WIFI Miniport Adapter”,and a “DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card” Status indicated they were not workingproperly.
Iwas able to visit the DELL website and reinstalled both the Microsoft VirtualWIFI Miniport Adapter and the DW1525 WLAN Card. Now they both indicted thatthey ARE working properly. I also located two Antennae’s that came with theDesk top and I installed them on the machine.
HoweverI still cannot get a Wireless connection to the Router and I currently have thecomputer sitting merely 3 feet from the Router. I continue to receive an “Unableto Connect Prompt”.
I had issue with spyware bogging down laptop. I reistalled windows 7. Currently, I have no driver to run wireless network. tried everything i can think of and talked to my cable provider and still no fix. I tried troubleshooter to no avail.
When I attempt to install R226750. It gets to a point where it tells me to activate bluetooth with the wireless switch. My wireless is always on but even when I toggled it on and off, it did not make a difference.
I also installed the DELL Radio switch patch for turning on my bluetooth and that has not worked. why my machine cannot turn on the bluetooth?
Just FYI - I am trying to install a mouse and printer which I am able to see on other bluetooth devices.
So I reformatted my studio 1558 laptop with windows 7 64 bit just to give it a fresh slate and when trying to set everything back up I can no longer connect wirelessly to the internet. I tried looking for the wireless driver but everyone I download says that the hardware is not found. When looking in device manager I don't see a wireless device installed.
I recently replaced my hard driveon my Dell Studio 1749 and have installed all of the disks that came with my laptop, but for some reason I don't have a wireless network adapter to connect to available wif (I had wireless prior to the hard drive replacement). The only network adapter I have in device manager is Realtek RTL816D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) I'm fairly new to this so not sure if there is an easy fix to this.
I am having trouble connecting to my wireless network sometimes it shows up sometimes it does not but when it is there it sometimes has full bars and others has none. I have tried resolving the the issues through windows and it either says windows cannot resolve your wireless connectivity issue or it says to unplug router for 10 seconds blah blah blah. sometimes it says there is an issue at the access point or wireless adapter. It is really getting frustrating and everything else that is wireless works in my house. I have a dell studio 1745 and windows 7 on it.
I have two Dell computers: one Dell Studio XPS 8100 and one Dell XPS L702 laptop. In my system I have internet that goes through a router. My Studio XPS is wired internet connection while my laptop is on wifi.
Recently, for no apparent reason (it started on Sunday), I have no internet connection on my Studio XPS tower. Wifi works fine on the laptop. I have also tried wiring my laptop in to the router and it recognises the LAN connection and I can get internet connection. So I know the LAN and the router and cables are working fine.
But still I have no internet connection any more on my Studio XPS.I am at a loss as to why only the hardwire internet connection to my Studio XPS is failing, yet there is clearly still an internet connection that allows me to connect my laptop via both wired and wifi connection. [code]
Dell pc studio 450s will not recognize network connection after power outage. Have run diagnostic fix multiple times but to avail. I have roadrunner cable broadband connected to voyage router and then to wireless router. Wireless router and vonage works (as evidenced by this email using iPad)
Have already reset everything multiple times including unplugging modem and pc.
From what I understand the pc is getting gatewayaddress or does not recognize.
I recently bought an older Dell Inspiron 8100 just to lug around and it connects to wifi via a wireless card no problem. The problem I am having is that when I hardwire to the net via the ethernet cable, I get nothing. It's OS is Windows XP sp3
I have a Studio XPS 8100 desktop. Lately, I'd say for about the past 3 months, after I start up my computer, I open my mail (windows live) and I open an internet browser, either "IE" or "Firefox"... Mail opens and receives no problem... my internet connection is fine... (have trouble shot all of that), but the internet will not open... It looks like it is going to start, then nothing... no message, not a thing. So I reboot and it opens... very odd no rhyme of reason for it, simply works fine one day and not another... I can't find any info. on the internet about this problem and no one I know has ever heard of it... Yes, I've run all the scans and checks with no viruses/spam, etc. detected... I'm using AVG free and Malawarebytes... was using Windows Security Essentials when is started... I have also scanned the computer in safe mode and no problems detected.
I have 4 computers - 3 towers and 1 laptop that can't connect to the internet. Local Area Connection #? A Network Cable Is Unplugged. Well, actually only 2 towers and 1 laptop can't get on.. I have that same message on this computer also. but I am able to work thru another connection to get online. When I searched the " I P " area, it says " Media Closed ". How do I open "Media" back up to allow hooking up to the internet? I have been reading various sources of information to try and find the answer. I went in to change my IP Addresses and after I did, I closed the page and when I went to check my current IP address and status, there were no changes. I still read " Media Closed " and some weird version of IP address is in the IP Address Location. How to get the Media "opened" and allow me to go on the internet . I Did Do a Fresh Download of Windows XP Pro on my laptop, but the "wireless section and the hardwire sections are closed, not allowing connection to internet. I have Dell Laptop D620 and Dell GX270 Dell Tower and Dell Tower Dimension 8100.
I have dimension 8100 with windows ME. turned off the integrated NIC because it stopped working and installed a d-link nic card a while ago. d-link worked poorly, so I connected my cable modem with USB. This worked well. Now I just bought a Dell laptop and router. The router needs to be connected to the desktop via the nic card for both desktop and laptop to work thru the router. I attempted to see if I could get the integrated card working. I entered setup and put the setting to ON for the integrated NIC card. I save and exited and the screen went black and stated "Plug and Play Configuration Error" 3x's. I rebooted and hit F2 to get into setup, but it won't let me and just goes right to the "plug and play configuration error" 3x's....
I have a Dell Studio 1737 running Windows 7 64 bit. I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. When I run the automatic troubleshooter, it does not detect any problems with the connectivity.
I ran ipconfig /all and this is what came up:

The hard drive on my Dell Inspirion 570 died so I had to install one. I had a 1T drive in an old computer I used as a slave so I installed it. I installed Windows 7 and when I tried to get on line I got a message saying I need to install a network adapter driver.
I just bought a brand new Inspiron 15R SE 7520. After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (service pack 1) I've visited the Dell Product Support section, entered in my service tag and downloaded all the recommended drivers & applications. Everything works fine on the laptop right now except for one major issue: I can't connect to the internet. The wireless switch is ON, but there's no sign of any wireless networks in the Network and Sharing center or in the system tray icon next to the clock. This is what I see in the device manager:When I double click the Network controller the device status reads:The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28),I checked this thread which seemed to have a very similar problem to mine, and I updated the bios to Inspiron_7520_A07_BIOS.Next I installed this driver [URL]. After unpacking the latter file (WiFi_Intel_W74_A01_Setup-G6Y8G_ZPE.exe) and running setup.exe I got his error message.
My network device tree now shows three (actually two) drivers not working, as follows:
Tuerdo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Driver
and, ISATAP Driver
It is my understanding that these are used to send IPV4 encapsulated IPV6 packets across intranet, and that I need to update the network card drivers to fix the issue. I am not sure if the drivers shown on the Dell site will fix this issue.
I am having a problem with my network controller after upgrading to XP Professional. The Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller driver (I've tried both the download and CD) works fine for the Card itself, but it doesn't work for the Network Controller. When I first restart after running the installation program included with the driver, XP tells me that a new Network Controller device has been found. As I go through the driver installation for that device it fails, and I receive a message telling me that the Hardware Update Wizard "Cannot Install this Hardware...The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." The device then appears in the Device Manager under the Other Devices section with a yellow question mark and exclamation point indicating trouble.
I cant find a network driver that will work. I have a dell dimension 4600 that i am trying to run windows server 2008 on. its original opersting system was xp/sp3 . i simply want to know if there is any working Ethernet driver for windows server.
I recently sent in my Inspiron M5040 laptop in to get repaired because it got severely water damaged and when i got it back i culdnt connect to the internet wirelessly so i tried pluggin in my ethernet cable an that wouldnt work either so i played around with my computer a little bit and saw that my ethernet and network controller drivers weren properly installed. How do i get those two drivers with no internet connect? Is there any way i can get a disk mailed to me with all of the up to date drivers i ned or do i need to ship my laptop back in to dell?
Well my computer is a Dimension 4550, and i bought it about a year ago. i re-installed the OS for other reasons. I have verizon DSL, and it worked perfectly before the re-installation. after, the connection was working, but I was missing the driver for the "INTEL Pro/100 VE Network Connection". I can't seem to find the driver.
I have Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop. I just wiped and reinstalled the xp. But I don't have the drivers. XP w/ SP 2 won't pick up the integrated 10/100 network card and modem.
[URL]
I went to above link to download the driver from dell but I don't know which one to download. There are different kinds and all I know about my card is it's "integrated 10/100 network card and modem". But I don't see this specific driver. For the wirelss card, I know exactly what it is and it works fine.(Intel (R) Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN miniPCI Adapter) But not the integrated 10/100 Port.
Recently I have bought Dell Inspiron 15R-N5010 DOS based laptop and installed Windows 7 OS from the dealer's shop from where I have bought.
Problem is that I'm not able to access internet via Wireless connection (but with Wired connection can access internet).
url... that install broadcom driver i.e. broadcom_wlan_5603506 but still the problem is not solved(after installing broadcoam driver) and I cannot see wireless network adaptor in Network and Sharing(in Control Panel) only Realtek and Bluetooth PAN adaptor is there.I tried to install :
- R252544 (Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard) gets following error "No compatible hardware found. The software you are attempting to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed."
- R252283 (Intel(R) WiFi Link 6200) gets following error "Software is not compatible with the OS"
- R247430 (Intel (R) WiMAX Link 6250) gets following error "Software is not compatible with the OS".
I tried to install in Compatible mode but getting failure error message (Windows 7 service pack is not installed).System details : Windows 7 OS - 32 Bit System, Windows 7 service pack is not installed. Serial Tag - < ADMIN NOTE : Service tag removed per privacy policy >
Queries:
- Which particular driver is required to be installed in Inspiron 15 R N5010 so that internet can be accessed via wireless connection?
- To install software in Compatible mode does Windows 7 service pack needs to be installed? If yes than which version?
- How can we check that Wireless driver is installed correctly ?
I have a Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop that I just installed a new hard drive in. Prior to the new install had no issues with wireless connectivity, now I have none. I have researched this issue for the past three days without success.
I also installed a new wireless card which still did not solve my problem. As I said, this is a Dell Inspiron N5030. Operating system is Windows 7 32-bit The network adapter is an Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller. In the Device Manager the Network Controller is listed under "Other Devices" The new wireless card installed is listed as a DNXA-95-D1. That is really the only information I can give you about this card.
Side note: I can get on the internet if I hard wire in, just can't access internet wirelessly.
I have problem of dell wireless my notebook is VOSTRO 1000 i installed all wireless drivers and still have the problem. Wireless icon is disappear and see error message that tells like this:
"THE WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER COULD NOT BE ACCESSED . THIS APPLICATION MAY HAVE DIMINSHED FUCTIONALITY AS A RESULT".
