We have a 4mbps unlimited connection and the internet speed which is connected via wireless to 2 systems, is good in one system out of two. the connection in one alone is very slow i mean dead slow.

There are 3 connections on the server running Windows Server 2003. 1st is External, 2nd is Internal and 3rd is VPN (please see attahement). There is nothing to do with External and Internal connections, and everytime the Internet connection get slow, I have to disconnection VPN (connection) and connect it again.

Not only has it gotten slower, i also cannot download anything without the connection stopping. The problem, i believe began a couple months ago with just youtube videos streaming slower and downloads stopping ever few minutes, but until these past two weeks its never been that much of a issue. I know the problem is isn't my dsl because it works fine with other internet capable electronics so it must be a software/driver issue.The svchost uses up 100% of the CPU when something tries to update so it likely might be a windows based program acting up.

Sometimes the internet connection disconnects itself and again reconnects. And the internet connection is getting very slow. While downloading, I am able to download at full speed only at those download providers which provides full speed but at other download providers I am able to download with not even half speed. While browsing, the internet loses connectivity sometimes and from my guess I am able to browse with only half the speed. I have tried in different browsers and it is same with all of them.

The connection speed is spotty and fluctuates between downloading at around 100-200kBs and having a ping of around 30 in online games (rare) or download rates measure in bytes (normal). Google takes about 10 seconds to load and I can't access steam. I was wondering if this was due to the length of the cable running the length of the garden (about 20m) or some other issue - it is not the computer as I get the same result with my laptop and my desktop, both of which have no trouble when connecting in the main house.

After plugging it in and setting it up, i tried loading web pages and it worked ok. It wasn't as fast as my linksys router but it was fine. When i tried loading youtube videos, that wasn't the same story. The videos didn't load. It started playing but then stopped after a couple of seconds. When i connected my computer directly to the modem, the videos loaded fast. There seems to be something wrong with the video streaming.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo Today, a few hours ago i decided i was going to clean things up a bit on the computer, so i ran raxco perfectdisk defragger, disk cleanup, ccleaner/ccleaner registry fix a couple of times and windows defrag. So after that, the computer was running amazingly fast, but the internet was suddenly really slow, and youtube videos especially are taking a very long staggering time to load up, when usually my internet connection is average, i have unlimited downloads on my contract so it cant be that and its the temporary internet files and cache either, just cleared it all.

Revo 3700, Sky Unlimited Broadband, and a bunch of laptops and phones that can connect to the internet anywhere in the house without a probleI had the Revo connect all day last Friday (for the first time), prior to that it had connected a hand full of times, but only a very slow connection. For the last 4 days it hasn't connected at all, but says the signal strenth is 4 or 5 bars. I'm typing this from right next to the Revo on my laptop without any issue.

I have a HP w1907v with a slow internet. [code] I go on Command Prompt and type in 'ping <my ip> -t' and my ping is quite low. However when I go to something like YouTube, my ping goes super high! It jumps up to 1000. Also when I go on any website at all, my ping goes super high. It happens mainly on websites which have flash on it. I have a Belkin F6D4050 Enhanced Wireless USB Adapter. I thought it was the USB but it wasn't, because when I put the USB into another computer, the internet was fine. The ping didn't skyrocket or anything. It was constantly low.

Instead, I have a quick question - there are 7 computers in this house (excluding iphones etc), and the speed we pay for is up-to 50MBPS. Am I correct in thinking that this should be more than enough speed for all computers to be active on the internet without issue - including using Skype/Streaming TV etc? How exactly does a router distribute the broadband connection? This one is mainly out of curiosity, but occasionally I will find that the computer next to me has no issues streaming a TV program, but that my own computer won't even load the page.

My computer recognizes my house's network and is connected to the internet with a good connection, but when I open up my web browser it takes a very long time for the page to load and sometimes never does. The laptop I'm on right now is connected to the same internet and it is running just fine. I've uninstalled the device and rebooted to have the driver reinstalled but the problem still occurs.

That tells me the issue is with the machine, not my internet connection or ISP.
I can find no particular setting differences and my network drivers appear to be up to date.
My ISP tested my connection and told me my signal is very weak. I can no longer play games online because I lag tremendously. I can't steam videos while someone else is using the internet either. In the bedroom above me I have another computer with a Linksys N Adapter on Windows Vista. I am receiving a strong WiFi signal on an average of 240 Mbps. However, my internet downstream is less than 1 Mbps and the upload is over 3 Mbps. I've updated the router's firmware and reset it twice. I've also tried changing the channels and switching to broadcasting "N" only. Linksys won't facilitate because it's out of warranty.

It seems to be the case that after we have had a router for about a year, my wife begins having trouble with her internet connection; slow speed, no connection, weak signal, etc. Resetting the router and cable modem will fix the problem, but the fix is only for a short time (an hour or a day). we have installed an asa 5510 with 3 interfaces : dmz (web server 172.20.0.59;application server 172.20.0.58; server mail 172.20.0.157), inside (lan) and outside (connected to a router for internet connexion). the problem is that the connexion internet is slow in the inside (lan). our dns is in the ouside with ip address x.x.x.60 ( the dns have translated addresse to inside and dmz 172.20.0.60). the router connected to our IPS have x.x.x.33 (our default gateway for internet). there is a simple switch between firewall and router. the inside interface of the asa is connected to catalyst cisco 6509 (the interface gigabit of the 6509 is configured to auto speed and duplex). the asa have base lisence.here is the configuration of the asa and the output of commandes show interfaces (inside, outside), show asp drop , show perform.

We have been having a very abnormal speed issue. This one has me stumped. I am fed up and thinking maybe its an Att issue that will NEVER be resolved.Brother comes and bothers me Zach internet is slow thinking hes just being picky I tell him to reboot his computer. He says its still slow. I run a speed test from my desktop computer I get a 5.36Mbps download and .63 up. I go to his windows xp professional laptop and run a speed test he pulls .63mbps down and .32 up. This is a Dell Latitude D610 with built in wifi. My desktop just so happens to be a wired connectionI grab my laptop which happens to be the exact same model and experience the same result. So I power cycle to modem, then the Linksys ea2700 router. The speeds go back to 5.37m down and normal speed up. Then after 20 minutes its back to a CRAWL.
OK the router MUST be dead. I will kill two birds with one stone. I plug in my Modem/Router combo 2wire 2700. Speed does the same thing starts off fast then slow to a crawl. Figuring it's a laptop issue I use a Linksys wireless USB adapter AE-2500. I get the same result fast then slow. NOW the crazy thing is that its only on my wireless connections. The wireless computers use wireless G and say 54mbps so why would the internet be slow only on the wireless connection.So maybe it's an interference issue So I start up the generator and plug my modem router and laptop into it. I then shut off THE ENTIRE POWER service to my house! I get the same result fast then slow. My neighbors are far apart and I have switched wireless channels and even used the 5ghz frequency with the same results.An ATT Tech says the line is fine. They came to the house and tested everything. The only thing that has happened recently was a storm which left flooding in some parts of town. Only one time was I able to test my WIRED computer and get a download speed of .04Mbps down and .32 up
Broadband connection is very slow and goes dormant even when moving mouse on web page to try to initiate applets. Computer locks or freezes constantly in between pages or when trying to open other pages on websites. Takes really long to try to do anything on computer when online.

When I start the computer on normal mode, the internet is very slowly and sometimes disconnect, and few times just work fine ( doesn't last more than 2 minutes). however, when i put it in safe mode with networking, it works perfectly.
