I recently upgraded my internet speed to 10 MB (used to be 5) but the internet speed in my PC got slower.I ran a speed test and the download rate was 2 MB while on my laptop it was 10 MB. My PC is clean of viruses and its connected to the integrated router via cable.
View 5 RepliesLast week I upgraded the firmware to 1.13NA and ever since, the wireless network has been slooooooow (wired is fine). If the laptop/ipad/phone is in the same room as the router, things are fine. Anywhere else in the house, the speed drops off to almost nothing even though the signal strength is very good. For example: Under the "Speed" section of my "Wireless Network Connection Status" on my laptop, I'm seeing 150.0Mbps in the same room as the router, 25.0 Mbps in the hallway and 1.0 Mbps about 5 steps further away. All the while, the signal strength is showing Excellent.Speakeasy speedtest: Wired 23.36 Mbps, wireless at the end of the hallway, .12 Mbps.

My Linksys WAG200G worked like a charm in these 4 years, never had connection problems... the firmware was 1.00.09 One week ago i updated the firmware to last version (1.01.09) and now i have slow connection problems, sometimes it doesn't load web pages... I tried to hard reset and I tried to downgrade to different firmwares found on the web (1.01.01 and 1.01.05)What should I do? Is it possible to find the original 1.00.09 img?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading the firmware on my RV042 router to version 1.3.13.02-tm, I am experiencing very slow Internet response on most sites. In some instances, when the page does load, it lacks many graphics. Frequently, I also receive a "server not found"error. In all cases, reloading the page (once it has loaded) results in a complete page display. This is occuring on two MacBook Pros and also on an iPad. The router is a version 1, so no further upgrades are available. I contacted support, but since it is out of warranty, they are unwilling to assist. Prior to the upgrade, everything worked fine, as it has for 5 years.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Vostro 3300, which was working very well, and when I upgraded my OS from Win7 to Win8 my internet speed through wireless connection became very low, I checked for a driver update but did not find any that is compatible with windows 8. I also tried some old Windows 7 drivers with and without "compatibility Mode" but still not working. I should also mention that when I connect to the internet through Ethernet, I get the full speed.

Not only has it gotten slower, i also cannot download anything without the connection stopping. The problem, i believe began a couple months ago with just youtube videos streaming slower and downloads stopping ever few minutes, but until these past two weeks its never been that much of a issue. I know the problem is isn't my dsl because it works fine with other internet capable electronics so it must be a software/driver issue.The svchost uses up 100% of the CPU when something tries to update so it likely might be a windows based program acting up.

Sometimes the internet connection disconnects itself and again reconnects. And the internet connection is getting very slow. While downloading, I am able to download at full speed only at those download providers which provides full speed but at other download providers I am able to download with not even half speed. While browsing, the internet loses connectivity sometimes and from my guess I am able to browse with only half the speed. I have tried in different browsers and it is same with all of them.

The connection speed is spotty and fluctuates between downloading at around 100-200kBs and having a ping of around 30 in online games (rare) or download rates measure in bytes (normal). Google takes about 10 seconds to load and I can't access steam. I was wondering if this was due to the length of the cable running the length of the garden (about 20m) or some other issue - it is not the computer as I get the same result with my laptop and my desktop, both of which have no trouble when connecting in the main house.

After plugging it in and setting it up, i tried loading web pages and it worked ok. It wasn't as fast as my linksys router but it was fine. When i tried loading youtube videos, that wasn't the same story. The videos didn't load. It started playing but then stopped after a couple of seconds. When i connected my computer directly to the modem, the videos loaded fast. There seems to be something wrong with the video streaming.

So after that, the computer was running amazingly fast, but the internet was suddenly really slow, and youtube videos especially are taking a very long staggering time to load up, when usually my internet connection is average, i have unlimited downloads on my contract so it cant be that and its the temporary internet files and cache either, just cleared it all.

Revo 3700, Sky Unlimited Broadband, and a bunch of laptops and phones that can connect to the internet anywhere in the house without a probleI had the Revo connect all day last Friday (for the first time), prior to that it had connected a hand full of times, but only a very slow connection. For the last 4 days it hasn't connected at all, but says the signal strenth is 4 or 5 bars. I'm typing this from right next to the Revo on my laptop without any issue.

I have a HP w1907v with a slow internet. [code] I go on Command Prompt and type in 'ping <my ip> -t' and my ping is quite low. However when I go to something like YouTube, my ping goes super high! It jumps up to 1000. Also when I go on any website at all, my ping goes super high. It happens mainly on websites which have flash on it. I have a Belkin F6D4050 Enhanced Wireless USB Adapter. I thought it was the USB but it wasn't, because when I put the USB into another computer, the internet was fine. The ping didn't skyrocket or anything. It was constantly low.

Instead, I have a quick question - there are 7 computers in this house (excluding iphones etc), and the speed we pay for is up-to 50MBPS. Am I correct in thinking that this should be more than enough speed for all computers to be active on the internet without issue - including using Skype/Streaming TV etc? How exactly does a router distribute the broadband connection? This one is mainly out of curiosity, but occasionally I will find that the computer next to me has no issues streaming a TV program, but that my own computer won't even load the page.

My computer recognizes my house's network and is connected to the internet with a good connection, but when I open up my web browser it takes a very long time for the page to load and sometimes never does. That tells me the issue is with the machine, not my internet connection or ISP.
I can find no particular setting differences and my network drivers appear to be up to date.
My ISP tested my connection and told me my signal is very weak. I can no longer play games online because I lag tremendously. I can't steam videos while someone else is using the internet either. In the bedroom above me I have another computer with a Linksys N Adapter on Windows Vista. I am receiving a strong WiFi signal on an average of 240 Mbps. However, my internet downstream is less than 1 Mbps and the upload is over 3 Mbps. I've updated the router's firmware and reset it twice. I've also tried changing the channels and switching to broadcasting "N" only. Linksys won't facilitate because it's out of warranty.
