Laptop Can't Find COD LAN Server
Oct 14, 2012
I have Call Of Duty installed on 2 desktop computers and a laptop. When I make a multiplayer LAN server on one of the desktops, the other desktop finds it but the laptop can't. So I don't know if the laptop is simply only connected to the internet, and the network is only on the two desktop computers, or if they have to be connected to the network to be connected to the internet (so the laptop is connected to the network, and there's a totally different problem going on), or what.Assuming that I just need to connect the laptop to the network, should/can I add it to the network between the two desktops, or do I need to make a totally separate network for it, or what? And how do I do it?

I've got a Synology DS211+ Nas drive attached to an airport extreme via ethernet. My imac picks up teh NAS fine as a shared drive, but I have a laptop running XP which hooks up to the router (for the internet), but the NAS doesn't show up anywhere on the laptop. I've looked under network places, but nowt. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do for it to show up.

I've been using this hub for wireless connection for a few years without any issues I need to connect to this hub via ethernet connection/cable however I can't get my laptop to find the connection - it doesn't detect that there is a cable connected. I've tried multiple cables which I know work, there are no errors on the network device and all my TCP/IP settings are auto detect.

Everything was ok, for a long time, then few days ago, i woke up and where was no internet connection on my laptop, i saw my neighbors wifi's but not mine. So i tried typical things: restarted laptop, restarted wifi on laptop, restarted router, but no luck. Then i checked, with my other laptop and it was working like charm. Then I tried, everythink i could think about it: disable and reanabled wifi card, reinstalled drivers, reseted factory setings on router, but no luck. Then i tried to configurate and connect to router from other laptop using PIN whitch is on the bottom of router. And it somehow made it to be able my laptop to find my home's wifi. But it lasted only for a day and same thing started. I could not find my wifi on my computer, but i could saw other wifi's, and different laptop could find and connect to my home network.

Is is possible to find the iLO IP for a server that has no OS installed? I'm not completely sure how iLO works. I believe the person who needed the IP was going to mount an ISO for OS installation via iLO.

Two of my laptops are connected through wireless and my Desktop PC through a cable. Now this small isnt finding the wireless network my other computer are connected to. It has found all other wireless networks, tons of them (neighbors, city wifi, etc), but just cant find my home wifi.I have reinstalled windows XP and reinstalled the wireless drivers. Also checked that they're the newest out there.

last night I had reset my router, I may have factory reset it, but ever since then, nothing can connect, nor even find the wireless connection, other than the home computer that is directly wired to it. My laptop, my tablet, amd my xbox cannot connect. On my laptop, it cannot even find a connection available, even when I'm in the same room as the router. All it has are the no signal bars and the little "x". Everything was working fine before I reset the router. Now nothing can even find a connection! How can I get my connection back? my laptop is windows 7.

Recently, I have found out that my laptop is unable to find any networks. I started using what I believe to be an ethernet cable to connect my laptop to the internet because it was faster than wireless. But when I removed the cable and try to connect wirelessly, the computer states that there are no wireless networks in range. I know the wireless adapter is broadcasting because my sister can connect wirelessly to the internet. My WiFi is on, but I can't find any networks.

My laptop wont find the wireless network and connect to it. When I click on the network centre it is unable to find my home network and all of the other ones that I can usually detect (live in an apartment block, I can always see other people's networks)So far I've tried:checked to see that wireless switch is turned onresetting the routertrouble shooter in the network centresystem restore back to a date before it stopped workingThe network is fine on my ipad and flatmate's computer, so it's obviously not the network that has the issue

I live in a house with six other students and all of their laptops can pick up the signal of our home network, but yesterday mine suddenly stopped. I've tried uninstalling the network adapter (after the common sense stuff), which appeared to fix the problem as I could detect the network but then when i tried connecting the message said windows was unable to connect to the network. I've also tried all the stuff I found on threads here but nothing appears to have worked

I have a wireless network of PC, Acer Extensa laptop (laptop1), and Acer Aspire notebook (laptop2) which connect wirelessly to a Livebox. All machines are running XP (SP3). Laptop2 connects to the Livebox via a Broadcom 802.11g adapter. There is no problem with any of these accessing the internet. Until recently (not sure how long ago) there was no problem with any of them accessing each other.Yesterday we discovered that laptop2 has lost contact with PC. All other connections are fine (including PC to laptop2). I have checked evrything I can think of and have carried out a System Restore taking the machine back as far as I can but that has made no differenceLaptop2 appears to recognise the workgroup in its 'preferred networks' box but the PC does not appear in its list of computers on the network and any attempt to access the network (My Network Places>Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network & click on MSHOME) results in "you do not have permission ..." then followed by "Windows cannot find the network path.."

I just picked up a new Windows 7 laptop for my home. My live in girlfriend has a Vista laptop and we both connect wirelessly to our linksys network. We also have a lexmark printer that is connected wireless as well. The Vista laptop has worked and prints fine with the lexmark. Now I have been trying to connect my new laptop to find the printer but when trying to add a new printer or even trying to add a new device windows 7 never finds the printer. I have installed the drivers from lexmark and have even enabled sharing on the printer properties from within the Vista laptop and still my win7 cannot find anything. What can i do to add this printer?

I have it installed and running on VM with active directory and a domain created. My problem is trying to join the domain with my other PC's. They cannot find the domain name. All of a sudden -it worked before for ages- I cannot connect with just one particular Web site via either of my two Win XP and one Win 7 machines hard wired to a common Linksys Router/hub/switch. The message is much the same either via IE or Firefox, e.g. "server not found" I tried a Ping cmd with the same result-not found.
