I'm trying to setup a router in my moms house. She has DSL and when the box is connected directly to her computer everything works fine. However, if I connect the router her computer reads "Limited or No Connectivity". I can connect to the router wired and wirelessly with my laptop, phone, and even her streaming media box without any problems. I ran IP config and i'm not geting a default gateway address.

i have built my PC from the ground up with what little budget i had, upon completion i started it up and installed my wireless adapter from linksis and i could not connect i went on my netbook (what i am on now) and checked my router and i didn't have any from of connection with my PC so i tried a wired connection and still no joy i have tried a different adapter a Belkin one i have even switched the router

My internet intermittently goes out, every couple of minutes. I keep getting pop ups saying "Local Are Connection has limited to no connectivity" and/or "a network cable is unplugged".

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on development of a Windows based application which connects to a PDA like device over USB & communicates with it using RNDIS protocol. The device has a static IP in the APIPA range (169.254.2.1). When it is connected to PC, Windows allocates a dynamic APIPA IP (169.254.x.x) to the RNDIS adapter. I have confirmed that there is proper connectivity with the device (I can ping it, can access a web server on the device etc.).But the problem is that after Windows allocates the dynamic IP, a 'limited or no network connectivity' message is displayed in system tray.
Since the device & software will go out in the market, display of this message (& exclamation mark on the network tray icon) is undesirable. I know that it can be suppressed by setting property of network adapter, but would prefer a solution that would not require end users to do any settings using APIPA addresses is essential as we would like to avoid conflicts with end users' LAN addresses.
This afternoon the computer crashed. It restarted normally, however will not connect to the internet. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.

I found out my onboard ethernet port was fried, so i went out an bought a RTL8139D ethernet PCI adapter. I fitted the adapter and plugged my cable in. It said Limited or no connectivity. After hours and hours of googling I tried everything. I changed the protocols, created static Ip's went into cmd and reset winsock catalogs, release/renew etc. The cable I am using worked previously in my room and it still works. (I took a laptop up to my room and plugged in the cable and had internet connection). So... I took my PC downstairs and used a different cable. This successfully connected me to the internet. That Rules out that my new ethernet card is the problem. MY cable also allows others to connect to the internet. Windows 7 64X Ultimate edition.

When I start my laptop, it acquires the internet connection fine, whether wireless or the wired connection.However on the wired connection, if I unplug the cable and replug it, it does not get the connection. View 14 Replies View RelatedThis computer is brand new Dell Inspiron 15R. The WIFI is dropping out repeatedly. I connect for ~10 minutes, but then the connection gets a yellow exclamation point for limited connectivity, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router. I read the sticky but there wasn't a post for the 2230 network card.
The problem happened on windows 7 and now on windows 8. Rebooting the computer doesn't work. I tried the POWER SAVE trick and it didn't work. I tried the maximum roaming trick, and that didn't work either. The network card is the Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the 15.5.6.48 drivers.
I can connect to the Verizon Wireless router or tether off my DROID X2 for about ten minutes, sometimes for longer, but either way, the connection is dropped, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router.
I got the urge to play a Windows game, so I used my restore disks to install XP on my Acer Aspire One A150. Unfortunately, my wireless card does not work anymore (?). I recently moved into a new apartment and when I connect to the router using the wireless. I get limited connectivity, it accepts the security key but can not get the internet. Connect wirelessly to another router within range and can connect to the internet via that. Also if I connect a ethernet cable to the router it gives me internet access. I couldn't see any settings in the routers menu that would prevent me from connecting(but im probably being blind).
Two other guys I'm sharing the apartment with can connect to the internet wirelessly with no issues. The router is a Thomson TWG870UIR.

i have a windows 7 laptop that ive just recently purchased. The wireless Connectivity was working fine last week, now suddenly it just wont work. I believe that its due to a program i recently installed that goes by the name of Connectify. I have uninstalled it yet still whenever i try connecting to any router wirelessly, the PC displays limited or no connectivity. On the other hand When i connect my laptop to a router via an Ethernet cable everything is fine. In case you are wondering, im currently using a 3g usb wireless stick to surf the internet, but i dont want to use it as i already have a router to use.

My chrome browser got hijacked by the search conduit virus. So, I cleaned it with AdW cleaner. My internet connection was ok then. After that, I ran ccleaner and cleared the registry. Now, I find that I have trouble even connecting to my wireless - it says limited connectivity or no connectivity. The other comp's in my house can connect to the internet fine. I've checked and resetted my network adapter. It is working, but still can't connect. I restored all my registry but still it doesn't solve the problem.

I have not tried any solutions yet as it usually goes away if I reboot and if that does not do it taking it to work (where it works FINE) and then back home ususlly fixes the problem. Last night I was able to go online and google something but when I clicked on a link it did nothing for several minutes and THEN told me I had 'Limited or no conectivity' where just a few minutes before I was 'connected' signal strength 'excellent'. View 7 Replies View RelatedI manage the I.T. department for an ambulance service. We have 12 ambulances all equipped with Verizon 4G LTE Samsung hotspot cards. [code] There are laptops in each of the ambulances that connect to the wireless cards in the ambulance via DHCP. I get frequent problems when the vehicle get close to each other of them jumping from one card to another... which is not a huge problem, except when it happens the computer will have a "limited connectivity" to the internet. This sometimes will resolve after 3-5 minutes on its own, or if i disconnect from the wireless card and reconnect it will resolve, or sometimes by rebooting the wireless card it will resolve.We also need the ability to move the laptops from one ambulance to another as well so we need to have this flexibility.would I be better off establishing the same IP address to each of the wireless cards, still keeping different SSID's and different channel #'s and then hard code the IP address into the laptop instead of using DHCP to connect? My goal is to eliminate the limited connectivity issue.

(It's not my computer, and I can't recall the name of the software.) The computer can't connect to the internet, but it can connect to the wireless network. When you try to repair the connection you get back that the computer cannot refresh the IP address, and thus repair the connection.A few extra things, the owner seems to be under the impression that another computer has kicked him off and has somehow broken his connection due the fact that it is used for gaming. These problems occurred when said computer had no internet connection at all. (Wired or wireless, everything was unplugged.) I just would like some kind of verification of the fact that another computer, under general circumstances, can't break another's connection out of thin air. I have tried resetting card, routers, and some other things. I am working on trying other wireless receivers on the computer and a different router tomorrow. I will update when that is finished.
