I have gone through the previous post related to limited or no connectivity.But I am still not able to figure out the problem with wireless connection in my windows xp sp2 OS.

I'm trying to setup a router in my moms house. She has DSL and when the box is connected directly to her computer everything works fine. However, if I connect the router her computer reads "Limited or No Connectivity". I can connect to the router wired and wirelessly with my laptop, phone, and even her streaming media box without any problems. I ran IP config and i'm not geting a default gateway address.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop PC ran Vista Home Premium and about over a year ago, suddenly developed the dreaded, 'Limited Availability' connection error when I tried to connect via ethernet cable to my D-Link dir 615 router.I have tried all possibilities (detailed in the other forums I have posted this issue in), like all the ipconfig commands in the CMD prompt, rebooted modem and router and pc but still getting this issue. [codde] As you can see - the Belkin wifi dongle connects fine, with an IP address of 192.168.0.101, however, the SiS191 ethernet controller (which has current and up to date drivers) refuses to connect and gives an IP of 169.254.241.0.I have also tried copying the settings from the wifi dongle and manually entering them for the ethernet connection but this also does not work..I don't think its an issue with my router as I also have a laptop, connected via ethernet, which works fine. Also have 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, 1 iPad, Xbox and Wii which ALL connect to the same router (via wifi) without any issues.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a dual boot computer(windows xp3 and Linux Ubuntu). The Ubuntu wireless works so that means my hardware actually works, but my windows xp doesn't connect. First I have the xp3 so my recovery disk from Toshiba some of the stuff is outdated. I installed intel chip-set, intel proset(my wireless) , wireless LAN, oh the stuff that have to do with wireless and still doesn't work. This is what happens, proset finds the router tries to connect and it says limited. I tried repairing it but nothing works. P.S. the stuff that are outdated are like the QFE ( those are a lot of files in my Toshiba recovery and every time i try to install them they don't work they say that the system I am using is better than the stuff i am trying to install)(QFE is also just the name in front of the file and there is at least 25+ , don't know why it is QFE)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing an issue with a LAN connection on my Desktop computer running Win 7 x64 with an NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller. I am receiving a "Limited or No Connectivity" message but I know the Router and LAN cable are good as I can plug it into a laptop sitting right next to me and do not experience any issues.I have checked the original manufacturers website for drivers however they do not offer any for Win 7. Trying the Vista x64 drivers results in the same limited connectivity issue.Hardware Specs I have on the Computer:
- Shuttle SN68SG2
- NVIDIA GeForce 7025
- 7 Series Glamor small form factor XPC Barebone
I have also tried the latest drivers from NVIDIA with the same results. [code]
I am trying to connect to the internet using both wifi and wired directly to the router and keep getting the same message "limited or no connectivity". It will see all the available wifi networks, and will even connect to the network, but no internet. I have used google and tried several solutions but to no avail. Also, just fyi, i currently have my desktop hardwired to router, and another laptop, ipad, ps3, wii, droid bionic and a couple of netbooks that all can connect to the router using wifi with no problem what so ever. I have also tried to connect to other networks with the same results. There are 2 network adapters, a broadcom netlink (tm) gigabit ethernet and a dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card. I replaced the PC with an other one and I had the same problem. so I returned the PC and bought a Packard Bell running on windows 8 as well, but again the same problem. I do have other computers in my household working fine (not windows 8).
It is running on windows vista home premium 32 bit sp1, if that matters.I have just had my computer's motherboard changed recently. After reinstalling the wireless adapter, the internet works! Until I found when I came back later that my internet shows unidentified network with limited connectivity. It happened when I was not around and my computer went into hibernate mode after downloading firefox installer. There is no antivirus installed, so it can't be a problem. My wireless adapter is the usb type,brand tplink: TL-WN721N. Tried a few methods suggested by the internet but nothing works: unchecking the iv6 box, follow the steps that starts with the regedit part, uninstall and reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter, fix the ip address.There is no problem with the network as the rest of the computers and laptops in the house has no network issues. But all of them are running on windows 7.

I woke up this morning and the internet showed that it was connected yet it wouldn't allow me to open the web or anything such as "msngr" I took the wireless card out for a couple minutes and then tried. That didnt do anything but say acquiring network address. I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to computers but these are the things that I have tried so far :
I went into properties and configure USB . . Made sure that the SSID said "Any" I Also tried going into properties and tcp/IP internet protocol and made sure it was on obtain IP address automatically . Hmm I tried. RUN>SERVICES> to make sure that the DHCP and TCP were started and on Automatic. I then tried system restore :- (went back about 2 weeks) . . Nothing. I then tried RUN>CMD>IPCONFIG/RELEASE *ENTER* IPCONFIG/RENEW *ENTER*.
when I did that it showed wireless network is now connected, yet back to ground zero. It wont let me browse. Its not really connected. When I look at the connection status, signal strenghth is good. Packets sent & received are good. I feel like there is just something little that. I am not getting, that is making this happen.
I have a laptop that I usually use physically connected to my router, but sometimes I use it wirelessly when I want to lie down in bed.After using it wirelessly yesterday for about an hour,I brought it back to where I normally connect it with an ethernet cable but not I can't access the internet even with the ethernet cable plugged in! View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on development of a Windows based application which connects to a PDA like device over USB & communicates with it using RNDIS protocol. The device has a static IP in the APIPA range (169.254.2.1). When it is connected to PC, Windows allocates a dynamic APIPA IP (169.254.x.x) to the RNDIS adapter. I have confirmed that there is proper connectivity with the device (I can ping it, can access a web server on the device etc.).But the problem is that after Windows allocates the dynamic IP, a 'limited or no network connectivity' message is displayed in system tray.
Since the device & software will go out in the market, display of this message (& exclamation mark on the network tray icon) is undesirable. I know that it can be suppressed by setting property of network adapter, but would prefer a solution that would not require end users to do any settings using APIPA addresses is essential as we would like to avoid conflicts with end users' LAN addresses.
This afternoon the computer crashed. It restarted normally, however will not connect to the internet. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.

I found out my onboard ethernet port was fried, so i went out an bought a RTL8139D ethernet PCI adapter. I fitted the adapter and plugged my cable in. It said Limited or no connectivity. After hours and hours of googling I tried everything. I changed the protocols, created static Ip's went into cmd and reset winsock catalogs, release/renew etc. The cable I am using worked previously in my room and it still works. (I took a laptop up to my room and plugged in the cable and had internet connection). So... I took my PC downstairs and used a different cable. This successfully connected me to the internet. That Rules out that my new ethernet card is the problem. MY cable also allows others to connect to the internet. Windows 7 64X Ultimate edition.

When I start my laptop, it acquires the internet connection fine, whether wireless or the wired connection.However on the wired connection, if I unplug the cable and replug it, it does not get the connection. View 14 Replies View RelatedThis computer is brand new Dell Inspiron 15R. The WIFI is dropping out repeatedly. I connect for ~10 minutes, but then the connection gets a yellow exclamation point for limited connectivity, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router. I read the sticky but there wasn't a post for the 2230 network card.
The problem happened on windows 7 and now on windows 8. Rebooting the computer doesn't work. I tried the POWER SAVE trick and it didn't work. I tried the maximum roaming trick, and that didn't work either. The network card is the Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the 15.5.6.48 drivers.
I can connect to the Verizon Wireless router or tether off my DROID X2 for about ten minutes, sometimes for longer, but either way, the connection is dropped, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router.
I got the urge to play a Windows game, so I used my restore disks to install XP on my Acer Aspire One A150. Unfortunately, my wireless card does not work anymore (?). I recently moved into a new apartment and when I connect to the router using the wireless. I get limited connectivity, it accepts the security key but can not get the internet. Connect wirelessly to another router within range and can connect to the internet via that. Also if I connect a ethernet cable to the router it gives me internet access. I couldn't see any settings in the routers menu that would prevent me from connecting(but im probably being blind).
Two other guys I'm sharing the apartment with can connect to the internet wirelessly with no issues. The router is a Thomson TWG870UIR.

i have a windows 7 laptop that ive just recently purchased. The wireless Connectivity was working fine last week, now suddenly it just wont work. I believe that its due to a program i recently installed that goes by the name of Connectify. I have uninstalled it yet still whenever i try connecting to any router wirelessly, the PC displays limited or no connectivity. On the other hand When i connect my laptop to a router via an Ethernet cable everything is fine. In case you are wondering, im currently using a 3g usb wireless stick to surf the internet, but i dont want to use it as i already have a router to use.

I have to restart the wireless access point router to get it to connect again, even though everyone else connected to the AP can access the internet. Even restarting my computer doesn't fix it. View 11 Replies View RelatedI've suddenly been unable to connect to my wireless network and this is the sequence of events leading to the problem. (Currently using a friend's computer). My chrome browser got hijacked by the search conduit virus. So, I cleaned it with AdW cleaner. My internet connection was ok then. After that, I ran ccleaner and cleared the registry. Now, I find that I have trouble even connecting to my wireless - it says limited connectivity or no connectivity. The other comp's in my house can connect to the internet fine. I've checked and resetted my network adapter. It is working, but still can't connect. I restored all my registry but still it doesn't solve the problem.
