I'm running windows7 and I have problem with my network. When I connect to the router it can detect the router but it cannot identified the network and get limited connectivity. I have tried using wireless and LAN connection and it result the same problem.
View 1 RepliesIt is running on windows vista home premium 32 bit sp1, if that matters.I have just had my computer's motherboard changed recently. After reinstalling the wireless adapter, the internet works! Until I found when I came back later that my internet shows unidentified network with limited connectivity. It happened when I was not around and my computer went into hibernate mode after downloading firefox installer. There is no antivirus installed, so it can't be a problem. My wireless adapter is the usb type,brand tplink: TL-WN721N. Tried a few methods suggested by the internet but nothing works: unchecking the iv6 box, follow the steps that starts with the regedit part, uninstall and reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter, fix the ip address.There is no problem with the network as the rest of the computers and laptops in the house has no network issues. But all of them are running on windows 7.

I woke up this morning and the internet showed that it was connected yet it wouldn't allow me to open the web or anything such as "msngr" I took the wireless card out for a couple minutes and then tried. That didnt do anything but say acquiring network address. I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to computers but these are the things that I have tried so far :
I went into properties and configure USB . . Made sure that the SSID said "Any" I Also tried going into properties and tcp/IP internet protocol and made sure it was on obtain IP address automatically . Hmm I tried. RUN>SERVICES> to make sure that the DHCP and TCP were started and on Automatic. I then tried system restore :- (went back about 2 weeks) . . Nothing. I then tried RUN>CMD>IPCONFIG/RELEASE *ENTER* IPCONFIG/RENEW *ENTER*.
when I did that it showed wireless network is now connected, yet back to ground zero. It wont let me browse. Its not really connected. When I look at the connection status, signal strenghth is good. Packets sent & received are good. I feel like there is just something little that. I am not getting, that is making this happen.
My desktop PC ran Vista Home Premium and about over a year ago, suddenly developed the dreaded, 'Limited Availability' connection error when I tried to connect via ethernet cable to my D-Link dir 615 router.I have tried all possibilities (detailed in the other forums I have posted this issue in), like all the ipconfig commands in the CMD prompt, rebooted modem and router and pc but still getting this issue. [codde] As you can see - the Belkin wifi dongle connects fine, with an IP address of 192.168.0.101, however, the SiS191 ethernet controller (which has current and up to date drivers) refuses to connect and gives an IP of 169.254.241.0.I have also tried copying the settings from the wifi dongle and manually entering them for the ethernet connection but this also does not work..I don't think its an issue with my router as I also have a laptop, connected via ethernet, which works fine. Also have 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, 1 iPad, Xbox and Wii which ALL connect to the same router (via wifi) without any issues.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a dual boot computer(windows xp3 and Linux Ubuntu). The Ubuntu wireless works so that means my hardware actually works, but my windows xp doesn't connect. First I have the xp3 so my recovery disk from Toshiba some of the stuff is outdated. I installed intel chip-set, intel proset(my wireless) , wireless LAN, oh the stuff that have to do with wireless and still doesn't work. This is what happens, proset finds the router tries to connect and it says limited. I tried repairing it but nothing works. P.S. the stuff that are outdated are like the QFE ( those are a lot of files in my Toshiba recovery and every time i try to install them they don't work they say that the system I am using is better than the stuff i am trying to install)(QFE is also just the name in front of the file and there is at least 25+ , don't know why it is QFE)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing an issue with a LAN connection on my Desktop computer running Win 7 x64 with an NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller. I am receiving a "Limited or No Connectivity" message but I know the Router and LAN cable are good as I can plug it into a laptop sitting right next to me and do not experience any issues.I have checked the original manufacturers website for drivers however they do not offer any for Win 7. Trying the Vista x64 drivers results in the same limited connectivity issue.Hardware Specs I have on the Computer:
- Shuttle SN68SG2
- NVIDIA GeForce 7025
- 7 Series Glamor small form factor XPC Barebone
I have also tried the latest drivers from NVIDIA with the same results. [code]
I am trying to connect to the internet using both wifi and wired directly to the router and keep getting the same message "limited or no connectivity". It will see all the available wifi networks, and will even connect to the network, but no internet. I have used google and tried several solutions but to no avail. Also, just fyi, i currently have my desktop hardwired to router, and another laptop, ipad, ps3, wii, droid bionic and a couple of netbooks that all can connect to the router using wifi with no problem what so ever. I have also tried to connect to other networks with the same results. There are 2 network adapters, a broadcom netlink (tm) gigabit ethernet and a dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card. I bought an Acer laptop running on Windows 8, but the internet would disconnect every few minutes and it would say no internet connectivity or limited connectivity.
I replaced the PC with an other one and I had the same problem. so I returned the PC and bought a Packard Bell running on windows 8 as well, but again the same problem. I do have other computers in my household working fine (not windows 8).
In windows server 2008 i got the mess "limited connectivity" after one hour (approx)

The strange thing is that I've had no problem connecting to other wireless networks (at my own home, at work, etc). n their network, I get a message that says "taking longer than usual to connect to network". Then, it eventually connects but leaves me with "limited connectivity"....and I can't access the internet.I had no problem connecting to their network on that laptop when I had XP and no other computers are having this problem with their network.

My chrome browser got hijacked by the search conduit virus. So, I cleaned it with AdW cleaner. My internet connection was ok then. After that, I ran ccleaner and cleared the registry. Now, I find that I have trouble even connecting to my wireless - it says limited connectivity or no connectivity. The other comp's in my house can connect to the internet fine. I've checked and resetted my network adapter. It is working, but still can't connect. I restored all my registry but still it doesn't solve the problem.

When i would troubleshoot it would say stuff about the default gateway and not a valid ip address. THis was fine because it would always just start working on its own in a day or so. I started having this stupid problem after i built my first computer, in my old computer it was all fine, am using an ethernet cable between my pc and laptop, it is crossed or whatever its called, when i plug it in it gievs me an error, limited connection or no connectivity which pisses me off, i have all the drivers installed everything is up to date.. sometimes it connects, but after 10 mins it disconnects again, and sometimes it works fine until i reboot my pc..
View 17 Replies View Relatedso the problem started with the normal limited connectivity, i was given the laptop and tried to rectify the problem using ip resets renew, release, ipvc reset, winsock reset and it wouldnt budge,if i leave the ipv4 settings to automatic it will not display the ssid of the router, it will connect to it but display unidentified network, if i enter the ip address dns e.t.c then it will display the router but it will still not connect to the internet, i have tried updating drivers, removing all drivers and letting windows rediscover and install driver.i have also tried installing an internet dongle, the laptop will pickup the dongle, install the software but then display no connection.
I then tried installing a belkin wirless adapter but since the software is only up to vista i dont believe it has worked. I have Vista Home on a laptop (all up to date) and when I try to set up wireless connection using a key it goes to 25% then times out. When I try to manually set up a connection I get limited connectivity and no internet. I have one other laptop with Win 7 and this connected with no problems, also one desk top connected with no problems. Kept getting the error 82BD0119 on the Vista laptop.

I have been using this router fine for a year now. Now I can only get on the internet if I am directly plugged into the modem. It says I have limited connectivity. My ISP is Comcast. I have tried resetting the router with no luck. I have tried to update the drivers but I cannot even log into 192.168.1.1. I am in dire need of the wireless cpability. When I go to the run command and type ipconfig it tells me I have no default gateway.

From one day to another my internet stopped working, instead of connecting automatically it shows limited access. I tried typing in cmd and IPCONFIG/ALL but that doesnt work either. using non-technical language, I am really bad with computers.

To cut a long story short, it's a bunch of XP SP2 and SP3 machines with only some of them having these issues. The network consists of two switches and one router with integrated modem and wireless. Internet access is established over that router/ ADSL modem.I have drawn out all the cabling and made all the connections myself, I don't doubt network related hardware one bit. Basically, I had the problem on two PCs, I tested connectivity on that cable with a laptop which didn't have any problems connecting to the network.
