Windows 7 Asus Laptop Cannot Identify Wireless Network
Oct 29, 2011
My laptop normally always works on the wireless network, but every now and then its randomly stopped working and said "identifying network" followed by "could not identify network, unidentified network." When i would troubleshoot it would say stuff about the default gateway and not a valid ip address. THis was fine because it would always just start working on its own in a day or so. However these arnt coming up when i do the troubleshoot this time, and its been over a week and no improvement.Im obviously writing this from the desktop. and the stats below are the desktop stats.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that I can't get to identify my wireless network. I can get online using an ethernet connection to the router, but it can't identify the network and the wireless connection gives me just Local Only. I have another laptop that can connect to the router, and the Toshiba can connect to other networks. For whatever reason, the issue only appears when this laptop attempts to connect to this router. I've looked for suggested fixes, but none of the following have worked: Disabling firewall Deleting network adapters and having windows install them again Confirming that dynamic IP address is assigned Confirming that DCHP is enabled Running KB928233 I've tried every suggested fix I could find and nothing has worked. I have a Clear Home modem connecting to a Toshiba Satellite A215 with a Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter and Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC.

The other day i was on my mums laptop (ASUS X5DIJ) at her house all working fine the battery died so i plugged it in and started it up again however the charger cant have been fully connected and once back in windows the battery died again on the next boot i noticed windows said it had found the system CMOS/real time clock and had installed drivers for it. checked the driver details it says no driver files are required just like it should ever since then it connects to the network but will not connect to the internet at her house or at mine through wireless and ethernet cable although all other computers work fine windows troubleshooter says "Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings"
I've tried resetting routers and laptop = no change netsh winsock reset and netsh int ipv4 reset = no change ipconfig /flushdns = no change ipconfig /registerdns = no change
I use windows7. Previously i had a normal internet connection (i use wireless) and few days ago my computer cant identify my network. It shows that im connected but it cant identyfy.
I have tried restarting my laptop multiple times (something that usually works for me in terms of reconnecting to the internet) but that didn't work. And like i said it does not recognize a single wi-fi network while my ipod, phone, and the other computers in my household recognize our wi-fi and our usual neighbors wi-fi without any problem.I was torrentingsome music yesterday, and may or may not have stumbled across a bad site with a virus, but that's the only conclusion I could make.(Currently posting this on my brother's computer)I need to get my connection back and get online again asap?
I'm using a Windows 7 ASUS laptop, with a Netgear RangeMax Wireless Router model WPN824v2. I can connect to the internet when I am connected directly to the router, but as soon as I take the ethernet cable out, my computer can't detect anything. On device manager, under the network adapter tab, there are two items.Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adapter. The wireless network adapter has a small yellow exclamation mark on its icon."Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" [code]
I'm running windows7 and I have problem with my network. When I connect to the router it can detect the router but it cannot identified the network and get limited connectivity. I have tried using wireless and LAN connection and it result the same problem.
i use an asus k50c and used to send wireless network connection from it until recently when i upgraded my OS to windows 7 and changed my antivirus to AVG internet security 2011. whenever i try to set up an ad-hoc network, it doesnt prompt me to turn on internet sharing which used to be there before and now no other computer can connect to my network, though it shows on the wireless network list.
my specs are:[CODE]After i re-installed win 7 home premium 64 bit edition i've managed to install successfully the Realtek PCIe GBE driver but when i connect the router directly to the laptop i got no internet.Meanwhile windows did not recognized the WiFi network card Atheros 9285.i tried diffrent driver and though it had been installed, in Device manager i only see "Bluetooth generic module" and in the "change adapter setting" i only have Local Area Connection.
Im trying to connect my Windows 7 professional 64-bit Pc to my Windows 7 64-bit OEM-version laptop. The Pc has a gigabyte motherboard, and the laptop is an ASUS X52JT.But connecting them doesn't work. When i connected the above-mentioned laptop with another laptop, it worked. But not when i try to connect it to my PC. They don't show up on 'Network'.So i tried even making an ad-hoc network and connect them both to it, but they didn't show up then either .. I have made sure that "File sharing" is enabled on both computers.
I have two ASUS UL80 laptops and trying to copy files from one to another. I also have a Linksys router with WiFI on.
The speed of a file transfer via router + LAN cable (or only the LAN cable) is about 600KB/s. I tried to turn off firewalls on both PC's, but it increases the speed by only 100KB/s.
My computer is a thinkpad with vista and when i go home to my wireless internet it connects just fine. When i go on campus to use wireless internet it also works just fine. But when i am at my apartment using a Netgear wireless adaptar connected to broadband cable provider. my computer just keeps telling me that the connection is unidentified and I have to use my ethernet cable all the time. I have two roommates that connect just fine (one has a macbook the other has xp)
I recently purchased a new broadband wireless GA DSL2+ router HUAWEI Echolife HG520b. I have set it up on my computer and have been successful in connecting to the internet via my laptop which runs on windows 7 but my other laptop running on windows vista SP2 is unable to connect wirelessley to the internet. It is able to find and connect to the router with no problem. But it appears unable to identify it and cannot connect me to the internet. I have tried many things and nothing seems to work.
I have a new ASUS N53S laptop and cannot get it to connect to an existing Airport Express network. It can connect to other networks. 1. Other machines can connect to the Airport Express network, including a Toshiba Satellite PC, iPhone, and MacBook. 2. The Passkey is valid and works for the devices identified in (2) 3. When entering the valid passkey, the network rejects it and says the passkey is invalid 4. I have opened the Airport Express utility and changed the passkey to a new one, and all of the devices identified in (2) were able to connect -- but the ASUS laptop still cannot connect, the system still rejects it from the ASUS laptop and says "passkey invalid"
I have been hacking at this problem for two days and can not figure it out.I built a new computer ASUS M3A78-T and installed windows 7 64bit everything was working fine. I did not validate the version of windows because I was waiting to replace the 500g hard drive with a 120 ssd. By the time I recieved the ssd windows validation time had expired, I tried to validate the version of windows and I could not because the network adapter was now gone! This is strange because when I first built it it as fine and I was all over the internet via broadband ethernet cable. Now the internet box has a red x and will not recognize the cable and no lights are flashing on the back as well. It seems I ned to reinstall the driver so I used another computer and downloaded the only LAN file from ASUS website and nothing.
I have changed the wireless router and reset and kept the same old Name and password. This is functioning satisfactorily and my all other devices such as lap top, mobile etc are connected. But another laptop is not identifying the connection and hence unable to connect to internet. I have tried diagnostic and repair tools but have failed.connect my device to internet via wireless router?
I'm running a Dell and a Sony laptops with XP sp2 and using a toshiba Windows 7 as wifi network host. I had been using a Belkin Wireless G plus MIMO router and have now switched to a Belkin ShareN300 router hooked to a Mediacom modem for internet access. All computers have Internet access but not sure if XP machines are running G versus N standard. How do i find out what class network card is in a laptop and how to upgrade to get best performance from new router?
This past weekend I went out of town and took my Windows 7 laptop with me -- since I returned home, it has been unable to connect to my wireless network. Other devices in my home connect to the network just fine, and the problem laptop has always been fine until now. My network card is an Atheros AR9285, and I'm attempting to connect to a Medialink router with WPA password protection and AES encryption. My wireless network icon in the task bar has a yellow sign with an exclamation point in it. It says "No Internet access."
basically we got sent this new router from Orange (our ISP) and we have had problems with it for the last week. The router model is the Netgear N150 DGN1000. Sometimes I connect it will be absolutely fine, but then the next time I log onto my laptop it can't identify the network, it says connected but doesn't have the globe in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. Then we have to reset the router a few times everytime until it recognises it, even though the settings are saved when we connected last time. It is the same with my sisters laptop. We both have Atheros network adapters so that may be a compatability issue with the router, but my brother connects fine on his everytime. A similar problem occurs with modern warfare 3 on my ps3, it won't let me sign in to playstation network half the time and keeps saying NAT type failed, even though NAT is enabled on my router. get this problem sorted and to get a consistent network connection that connects every time that would be great. We changed the security type to WEP on it a few days ago from WPA and that meant we could sign into modern warfare 3 some of the time rather than never, but we are still having issues.
I recently bought an ASUS RT-AC66U Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750 Gigabit Router. It is working great. Now I would like to replace the wireless card in my Asus N61J laptop.
i use an asus k50c laptop which i connect to internet through a lan cable.i used to send ad-hoc connection to my other laptop for internet connection which was running fine until i upgraded my sys to the win7.the connection is no longer through and whenever it is the web browsers cant open any page.i ve tried everything i can.it shows that the there is connection but its not working.
I was online then all of a sudden i got disconnected and now it won't show any network available. My other laptop and xboxes are online just fine, so I know then it's an issue with my one laptop. But I don't know how to fix it. No networks are found at all and internet only works when it's wired. I have a HP laptop running windows 7.How do I get my network to show up so I can have wirless internet again? Someone thought maybe new drivers but no clue what I really need to download. I only know basics of computer stuff.
I'm having an HP laptop with windows 7 installed on it, but cannot view available wireless network. under network and settings i can see the wireless network card, which means the wireless drivers has been installed. but can't view my wireless network but other computers are viewing my wireless network.
The wireless adapter keeps saying unidentified network, I can connect from other computers and they are all working fine.
Edit: Forgot to mention its a ASUS wireless n-15 adapter, also the system is a Windows 7 64 bit. Also, has a ip address 169.x.x.x which i know means no internet connection.
Where I can find an "ASUS Wireless PCI Driver" for WinXP?I've found many but ONLY for Vista, 7 or 8. The ones that I've found say that their for XP, but when I download them and try to install them on my XP system,it says that the OS (XP) is NOT supported! They all happen to be for Vista.
Laptop - Asus X53U Wireless Adaptor - Atheros AR9285. Spare USB Wireless - Edimax
A couple of weeks ago, my wireless connection was getting slower and slower. As one day it decided to get extremely slow, I decided to uninstall the wireless card via device manager and reinstall it. Once this had been completed, the wireless just stopped working. The signal bar came up with zero and had a big red X in it. It works fine with ethernet cable but just won't seem to work as a wifi connector.
I have reinstalled all drivers and everything is enabled. When troubleshooting, it comes up with a possible problem with driver. Once this has been resolved it is then a problem with the network. The router is fine as I am able to connect on every other device in the house. I even purchased a USB wifi adaptor in the event of the Wireless card packing in but this is still creating the same problem. I used system restore to roll back the laptop to a time when the wireless worked and it didn't seem to work at all.
I have a Latop Asus A52F Series and the problem is that My internet works fine with the cable but when I want to connect to wireless I cant I keep getting messages windows unable to connect to my wireless called Linksys E2000 Advanced. it works fine with cable but doesnt work with WIRELESS
Recently I bought a ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1 to replace my old laptop and it uses a Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter to connect to my network. On my older laptop I can get the full download speeds on my network of 500-600 kbs, but on my asus I can only acheive between 70-120 kbs. There should be little to no interference between me and my router and it sits only about 15 ft behind me.
My router is an old linksys wireless router which only transmits a B signal. I know wireless B is considered slow but it works perfectly fine for what I use it for and it works on my other laptop.
On my asus laptop, wireless does not work. It works when connected with ethernet cable. Signal show wireless strength excellent but it does not work wireless.
