i use an asus k50c laptop which i connect to internet through a lan cable.i used to send ad-hoc connection to my other laptop for internet connection which was running fine until i upgraded my sys to the win7.the connection is no longer through and whenever it is the web browsers cant open any page.i ve tried everything i can.it shows that the there is connection but its not working.

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy laptop when I'm on any web browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc.) it will say I'm not connected to the internet and stay that way for a minute. Any downloads and stuff I have going still download though and it shos that I am still connected to the internet with excellent strength. This happens with both wireless and Ethernet connection. The only way I can fix it is by disconnecting form the internet and connecting again, even that though only works for like 20 seconds and then it says I'm disconnected again and I have to disconnect and reconnect again.
I don't think its internet connection point either because all my friends and school laptops and desktops have no problems connecting and don't disconnect.

A couple of weeks ago, my wireless connection was getting slower and slower. As one day it decided to get extremely slow, I decided to uninstall the wireless card via device manager and reinstall it. Once this had been completed, the wireless just stopped working. The signal bar came up with zero and had a big red X in it. It works fine with ethernet cable but just won't seem to work as a wifi connector.
I have reinstalled all drivers and everything is enabled. When troubleshooting, it comes up with a possible problem with driver. Once this has been resolved it is then a problem with the network. The router is fine as I am able to connect on every other device in the house. I even purchased a USB wifi adaptor in the event of the Wireless card packing in but this is still creating the same problem. I used system restore to roll back the laptop to a time when the wireless worked and it didn't seem to work at all.

A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged in the ethernet cord and everything worked fine. Checking the properties in the device manager showed the device was working properly, I also tried resetting it to make sure it was enabled but it did not work.
Upon troubleshooting, the "Windows Network Diagnostic" said the problems was that the Wireless adapter was not turned on. Using the switch on the front of the laptop as well as the function keys does nothing. Usually a graphic pops up showing if the WiFi is on or off, changinging transparent to show the WiFi is disabled. Now when I turn the switch on it always appears transparent, effectively going from off to off
So I know the computer reads both the function keys and the switch on the front but both methods never actually turns the adapter on. I just finished a system restore and nothing has changed
Recently I bought a ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1 to replace my old laptop and it uses a Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter to connect to my network. On my older laptop I can get the full download speeds on my network of 500-600 kbs, but on my asus I can only acheive between 70-120 kbs. There should be little to no interference between me and my router and it sits only about 15 ft behind me.
My router is an old linksys wireless router which only transmits a B signal. I know wireless B is considered slow but it works perfectly fine for what I use it for and it works on my other laptop.
I have an ASUS X58C laptop which has been working OK to the internet via the ethernet cable but it has stopped working.I used the laptop via the wireless connection to access the internet while away from home and on my return I can not connect via the ethernet but I can connect OK via wireless. The results with the wireless enabled are :

I can see that the ethernet adapter(s) are shown as media disconnected but I don't understand how to make them connected. I also don't understand why there are two ethernet adapters or what the Tunnel Adapters are.Before I did the ipconfig command I went into Control Panel/Device Manager/Network Adapters/SiS Ethernet Controller, right clicked and selected the Update Driver Software which searched the internet for a driver and installed it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. I think it's due to the wirless card in the laptop, as I have a number of other devices in the house which all work fine.

When I uninstall the software my connection is fine. I am using an Ethernet connection by the way. I think it is being blocked by the component called Network iControl. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop normally always works on the wireless network, but every now and then its randomly stopped working and said "identifying network" followed by "could not identify network, unidentified network." When i would troubleshoot it would say stuff about the default gateway and not a valid ip address. THis was fine because it would always just start working on its own in a day or so. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus Model U56E. Recently the wireless has been disappearing whenever I turn off my laptop. What I mean is that when I turn on my laptop, the wireless doesnt seem to exist. I go under device manager and all I have is the eternet and my bluetooth device. About 85% of the time, when I go under "action" and click on "scan for hardware changes" the my Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N1030 will show up along with the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptor and I'll get my wireless back. However, when my laptop turns off, the same thing happens.
In addition, my fn F2 button no longer seems to work. I'll press on it and majority of the time my light that signals that the wireless is working does not turn on. Most of the time it stays off whether or not I am connected to the wireless
This is what I already attempted to fix it, based on googling for answers:
1. Under the properties of my wireless and miniport adapter, I went under power management and unchecked the box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
2. I went to my laptop's power plan and changed all my wireless adapter settings "power saving mode" to maximum performance for both battery and cord
3. I went to the intel website, had it look at my laptop wireless system and followed their recommendation of installing an updated wireless software thing. All that happened was that it told me to disable my old wireless and then install it. However, even though I followed their instructions, it continued to repeat the same message. I had to perform a system restore to get my old wireless back
4. I disabled wireless console 3 (by Asus) under programs and it seemed to work. My laptop was getting connected whenever I turned it on. However, the next day my laptop updated itself (b/c of my system restore) and I am back to the same situation except my wireless console is still disabled.
So I just got an Asus RT-N10+ trying to repeat my Buffalo Airstation wireless signal (WPA2/PSK). I choose the repeater step in the quick setup, and the signal has full bars, but when I try to connect, it gets stuck at:
"Please wait, RT-N10+ is connecting to buffaloairstation..." and it stays like that indefinitely and after a while, the ASUS wireless connection disappears as it continues "connecting".
I had an old linksys router running DDWRT. I bought a new Asus RT-N16 and finally set it up. I had to just duplicate the settings by hand as you cannot back them up across different hardware models even though both are running DDWRT.
I hooked up the new router and everything was working great, until I decided to check one of my port forwards. Turns out its not working, I can't connect through my DynDNS assigned dns name. Assuming I configured something wrong, I compared the settings of the two routers. Nothing interesting, it is set up right.
From there I decided to just hook the old router up, assuming I overlooked something. So I mess around with all the cables, and then, to my surprise, IT STILL DIDN'T WORK.
A few points of interest:My Static IPS are set up right. My server has the proper IP My home IP did not change. DynDns has the right IP. I rebooted all the network equipment and server... just for the hell of it. I tried changing a port forward to point to my main PC and that failed too.
My computer has lost its wireless connection. where can I download the driver?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI built a desktop to replace my laptop and set it aside for two weeks. So I go back to the laptop and it says the networks available but I can't connect to the router. It reminds of the first time I wired a network at work. All the wireless info seems to be right I went to my RT-nu Asus router and reset that. That seems to be OK. DCHP is OK password for the WPA seems OK. I did upgrade the firmware to the router but that worked ok. That won't have affected the laptop in anyway would it? I do have a preprogram of WIN 8 but its not telling I have to buy it yet. Whoa, how could it if I can't get on the net. Do you think that might be it? Everything on the laptop works well otherwise and it's not informing to but Win 8.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust purchased an N66U router and loving it so far. The only problem I'm having is that iTunes is not seeing the shared library I setup on the router. I have a usb drive plugged into it and have set the options to use that drive and the itunes server is turned on. I've rebooted the router many times, removed the drive and put it back in. Turned of settings and turned back on. Nothing works. iTunes does see my PC's shared library just fine.
