View 1 RepliesI have a Asus n55s. The wireless acts very funky. It sometimes disconnects and stops working. Sometimes, it will stop detecting any nearby wireless networks altogether. Then I have to enable and disable the wireless functionality until it starts seeing nearby wireless networks.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio 1557 laptop (purchased in late December 2009) that all of a sudden has lost wireless connection to the internet. Went to use it last night (Thursday) for normal use and no wireless connection at all. Before this issue, there were no problems connecting thru wireless at all...in fact used it Wednesday evening for work/surfing and no problems whatsoever. We are using a Linksys 160N router...have 2 other computers and 2 iPod Touches that are connecting just fine, absolutely no problems. It can connect thru a wired connection with no problems but nothing thru wireless...this is a fairly new router, about 10 days old, but haven't had any issues with it since set-up.
I didn't have much of a chance to do anything about this last night or this morning. I really don't want to bother calling Dell Support either.

I've been having this problem with my laptop's wifi for a while now and it's been getting a little out of hand lately that I can't deal with it anymore. I asked some friends and they seem to have the same problem too but not nearly as often as I do. Every so often, my laptop's wifi just stops working so I turn it off and then turn it back on and it starts working again. My friend says it happens very rarely to him but for me just today it happened 2 times within 10 minutes
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy wireless connection for 2,4 GHz stopped working correctly. Here's the set up:
I have an E4200 Linksys router. Furthermore I have a desktop running on Windows7 connected to the router with a wire. No problem there. I can connect to the Intenet via the E4200 and a modem. Then I have a notebook also running on Windows7. Until yesterday it was wireless (2,4 GHz) connected to the router and to the Internet, but now I can see the router on the networklist (so there is connection), but it will not make contact to the Internet. If I hook up the notebook with a line to the router it works OK.Then I have an iPad which makes a wireless connection to the Internet (via the router) for the 5 GHz option, but it does not make a connection with the 2,4 GHz option anymore (before yesterday this worked well). I did not change any settings on the Linksys or other network options, Can an update from McAfee make a difference (only for 2,4 GHz?).
I boot up my computer. I close it over. come back later. open it. Computer will connect but with the small yellow triangle. Thing is though, it's only my computer that ever has issues with my internet connection. My sisters laptop has never had an issue with out internet. Yet my laptop is able to connect to the neighbors internet fine. The solution to my problem almost all of the time is to simply reboot my computer, which solves the problem(most of the time). But i'm getting so sick of having to do it. The other times when a reboot doesn't work I have to manually reset the internet. As i'm typing this I'm on my neighbors internet. my sister is connected fine to our internet but my laptop simply won't work with it so i'll have to reset it when i'm finished this Some useful information might be that this problem only started happening ever since my computer got wiped.I've tried updating the drivers but apparently they're up to date.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have 3 pcs connected to the router via cable and 2 more pcs connected through wireless. Everything works great. But when I try to connect (want to connect 2 more laptops via wireless) either one of the two laptops, the whole network stops working immediately. I have tried updating the drivers (they are up to date), removing the password from the router, gave the laptops static IPs (and all other pcs as well) with no results. As soon as one of the 2 laptops joins the network through wireless, it stops working for everybody. However if I connect them through the cable they work fine. One of the laptops uses win vista 64 bit, the other one win 7 64 bit. We have cisco RangePlus Wireless Router wrt110.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried all sorts of settings, and I'm still holding out that its a setting possibly, but I have a E3500 and devices on both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz... Most of them, probably when idle, seem to stop working over WIfi. They still have decent connection, but every internet related request just times out. Disable and reinable the wifi and it works great again.
Could this be defective wifi radios? or could it really be interference? I have it happening on multiple devices. Also, I'm not far away from the router when it occurs, and when I reconnect, it seems to work just fine for a while. Basically the big problem is on the cell phones and tablets because I'll miss notifications... I'll turn off the wifi and turn it back on when I use the device next, then a flood of notifications will come in. Again, it's not just a phone thing, tablets and laptops have the same problem, that's just the main reason I want it fixed.
i have a question my laptop and my computer does not show the local area connection icon i accidently deleted it and now need to put it back.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought this router and ever since my internet connection will drop out for 5 minutes at a time then come back in. This happens on both wifi and the wired connection. The weird part about it is that if there is a program that maintains a constant connection, e.g. xbox live or an online MMO, they don't lose connection when every other device or even tabs within the same browser all lose connection.
BTW It's the REV_B with the 2.07 firmware.
Every now and then my adapter won't be able to connect to the internet for a few minutes, and then it just comes back. This happens frequently, varying from every few minutes to every few hours. If I re-connect the adapter, though, a connection instantly comes back. There's no sign that it's lost connection, the taskbar still displays Internet access and a 5 bars, and the blue light on the adapting keeps flashing; but I just can't connect to the iternet at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having quite a large problem with my TalkTalk connection. Whenever i turn off my computer, internet access stops for the entire network, anyone who is conencted, however, local access is still possible.I am also having a problem with the wireless in my laptop also. Whereas every computer on my network is able to access the router wirelessly, my computer (the one that seems to chut down internet access) won't do that, i send packets, but none are received.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a working home network with 4 pcs connected to the network. 3 via ethernet and 1 via wireless. Everything is working fine. Then we have 2 more laptops which are connecting via wireless. When either of those 2 laptops joins the network, the whole network stops working for a minute or 2. After that it starts working again for everybody (including those 2 laptops). However its super annoying when it does that all the time. (The laptop goes into sleep mode, when u turn it back on again the internet(and the whole network) stops working for awhile again..).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a new EA3500 router and have fairly painlessly managed to get my desktop (running Windows XP), my lap top (running Windows 7), ipads 1 and 2 and blackberry all to connect to the wireless hub. I even have it talking to a WD 1T external hard drive.
BUT try as I might I can't get an old sony vaio running windows 2000 professional to connect to the internet. It talkes to the box and even allows the lap top to hop on as a guest but it goes through to a guest sign on web page and no matter what combination of passwords (i am sure i have the write guest sign on) it just refuses to actually connect. I never had a problem connection to our previous wireles router.
I have a D-LINK DIR-300 router with 4 LAN and WI-FI. It's acting very strange lately. It is connected to a UPS battery and the one LAN connection is in surge protection. Here are the symptoms:
-Every 2 days it just loses connection. I have to reboot it so to make the connection working. It's a little bit annoying after awhile.
- One day one of the LEDs started like fading away and came back up (the one that signals the LAN connection).
- When all the LEDs were properly working and the connection was good also, I moved the the power adapter cord a little bit at some part (I didn't plugged it out) and some of the LEDs gone (Internet connection LED and Wireless) but all the other LEDs were working. Of course there wasn't connection either.my OP is Ubuntu 12.04 and the connection DHCP is well configured.
I've got a new PC which is now about 4-5 weeks old. It worked great in the first 2-3 weeks, but then the network connection started to be unstable. That means that the connection is lost regularly (in intervals between 15 seconds an several minutes). After it is lost there's an immediate reconnection attempt, which usually is successful. So the connection downtime is mostly inbetween 2-10 seconds. Now that does bother me pretty badly. Especially in online games this leads to many disconnects or lagspikes of up to 10 seconds.
The connection losses always come paired with DPC latency spikes.I switched the LAN cable just to be sure. I updated all drivers (including BIOS). I deactivated all eligible components in the device manager one by one. The only thing I found out: If I disable the network adapter, the latency spikes are gone. But that doesn't work because the connection is gone too. For that network adapter I tried different drivers, various versions from Shuttle and also the latest original driver by Realtek.
I have a D-Link DIR-615 Hardware Version: E3 Firmware Version: 5.10 and I am using this as an access point with the DHCP disabled (secondary router) and my primary router is located down stairs and it is also a DIR-615 Hardware Version: B2 (192.168.0.1) and this issue didnt develop until later over time and I have made absolutely no network configuration or ISP changes at all the internet has been working fine confirmed with Time Warner Cable and for more than six months and I out the DIR-615 Hardware Version: E3 Firmware Version: 5.10 router has been bringing down the entire network/internet access and I can confirm this router is causing the network/internet to go down and windows notification will say the network only has limited access and I am also unable to access the router page (192.168.0.2) state I have to remove it and restart it D-Link can take a look into this issue I believe this might be a bug and I confirmed on the website that this is the latest version.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. I think it's due to the wirless card in the laptop, as I have a number of other devices in the house which all work fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had this wireless router for 3.5-4 months, and it has been working fine up until now.It either runs VERY slow and losses connection often or will not connect at all. I could be sitting beside the router or across the room with the same results. i have even tried connecting a cord from the laptop to the router, but it makes no difference. If it makes any difference we have a PS3 that is connected via wire to the modem and it works just fine, never loses connection. We have used both at the same time since we got it and it was fine up until a few weeks ago.I have tried reseting it and unplugging everything and rebooting the computer and that had no effect. I also tried reinstalling the router on the computer using the setup disk and resetting everything but that did not do anything either. I have an Acer Aspire laptop MTS ~ DSL Modem?
