New Acer Laptop Won't Hold Internet Connectivity?

The computer has a strange habit of dropping my internet connection after it's been turned on for a while. I've already checked to make sure that the setting which allows windows to turn the wireless adapter off to save power is disabled, and I've set my laptop up to use a static IP address which no other device should be using. I'm connecting via wifi.The only way I know to fix the problem is to restart the computer whenever the problem presents itself.I have a motorola surfboard modem and a linksys e1000 router.The computer always says that I am connected and that I have full signal, but it displays an exclamation point over the internet icon saying 'no network access'

I bought an Acer laptop running on Windows 8, but the internet would disconnect every few minutes and it would say no internet connectivity or limited connectivity.
I replaced the PC with an other one and I had the same problem. so I returned the PC and bought a Packard Bell running on windows 8 as well, but again the same problem. I do have other computers in my household working fine (not windows 8).

I've just recently bought a second hand Acire laptop is v.good condition, it does everything fine apart from connect via wireless.I have another laptop which can connect on it's wireless and the Acer laptop can get a connection if you use a network cable directly to the router.I have a Sky phone & Broadband package.

I have an ACER Aspire 57422-4459 with windows 7. I had a virus on my laptop not to long ago but after having it removed I have not been able to log into a wireless network. It says that there is something wrong with the modem BUT My stepmother has the exact same computer and hers works perfectly (I'm actually on hers right now) also my phone and playstation 3 will get online with no problem

I have an Acer Laptop that runs on Vista and run my AT&T 3g wireless card on it and it browses the web as if I had a cable connection, however, the I try to use the same card on my Dell that runs on XP and has 768 MB of Ram but it can take over a minute to pull up a website. Should I get more ram though the min requirements for XP are 256 for this connection?

Recently we have set up internet in our student accommodation flat and for some strange reason the internet speed seems to be incredible low when I am connected using wireless. I am trying to download some stuff and the download speed drops below 10kb/s. The internet speed is very temperamental as it can be fine for a minute and then it will suddenly drop really low. If I disconnect from and reconnect to the network the speed will be high again then it will drop really low again. If I am connected via an ethernet cable the speed is fine and does not drop at all.My ISP is Orange, and I am using an Acer 8930G laptop. Some of my flat mates are experiencing this as well but some aren't. I was wondering whether or not it could just be a laptop thing or a router thing. The speed can drop that low that I can not even browse web pages.

so I have an Acer laptop, and it won't connect to the internet. Whenever I try it says Local Only and won't let me access anything on the web. This happened a few months ago, and I had recently switched to a new router. I know this question has been asked before, but I've tried all the non-specific solutions, and non of them worked.
Also it won't even connect when I use a non-wireless, ie cable, connection.

I have a Acer 5552 laptop and today it just stopped getting internet connection. I tried resetting the router and the computer neither worked. I also have a desktop and another laptop in my house and both of them are working and connecting fine. I am not sure what is going on. It finds the connection and says it is connected but then nothing will come up.

I have had my Acer windows vista laptop for about 3 years but it has only been this past year it has stopped connecting to the internet, which means i have to use a cable to access the internet, but im pretty sure its not the ruter because my brothers laptop connects fine, and his is a very old laptop!

Last night I was just online in my dorm using wired internet like I always do and it suddenly just stopped working. It hasn't been working since and it won't connect to anything. I have an ACER Aspire 5552 laptop. A couple of days ago started having problems connecting to the Internet. Seems to connect to WiFi ok but no Internet connection. I know the router's fine and there is Internet connection because my phone's connected to Internet fine. Even when I use Ethernet cable, it still says there is no Internet connection.

My ancient HP desktop connects to the network via wired connection. My laptop connects wirelessly (usually). Both have very strong signals from the router and the desktop connects to the internet just like always, but the laptop isn't getting the internet signal. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5534 (Costco special) and the router is a Linksys Simultaneous Dual Band N-type. The only real significant thing that was done on the laptop was to install Adobe Shockwave Player with Norton Scan. I already have McAfee on the laptop tho, so I uninstalled the Norton. I'm going to do a system restore in a moment.

I have a window 7 acer laptop, 3 as a matter of fact, i just upgraded to charter high speed internet and i have this new router its called ubee router/modem i have no trouble with my window xp with the wire less connection, but on the 3 windows 7 computers they will drop or lose the wireless conection and we have to refresh the network and it will do okay untill its shut off and it might connect, charter. If i use a direct cable no problems at all. even if i set the router up with no wepkey it will still drop wireless umm what could i do to correct this

One of my laptops (Acer Aspire 5741) won't connect to the internet, it stopped connecting last night at around 9pm UK time. It shows an ! in a triangle over my Internet Access bars. When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. I have tried resetting the router, removing and readding the home network and checking the security key is correct -I do also have a VPN from my university which has been installed since April without any problems. Both the laptop and notebook use windows 7 and Firefox.

I got this message on my laptop, complete with the little yellow triangle hovering over my little internet icon at the bottom of my screen. The weird part is that my desktop computer and my mom's laptop (both of which are using wireless from the same router) can both successfully connect.I'm using my mom's laptop to type this. I tried unplugging the router and plugging it back in and it didn't work my laptop still won't connect.Here's a few of the facts:
- coincides with a recent installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2, which I have not done.
- I'm using Windows 7, just FYI
- My big desktop computer already has an Ethernet cable connecting its built-in modem directly to the router. Someone on another site suggested using an Ethernet cable to connect my laptop directly to the router, but my laptop is a little bit of a junkpile and doesn't have anywhere to plug one in.
- When running Windows Network Diagnostic it tells me that there's a "problem with the wireless adapter or access point" which would be the router. I've tried resetting the router, but it didn't work.
when I was running a virus scan on my laptop. About halfway through the scan it had picked up 3 infected objects. I was using a different computer while I waited for the scan to finish and when I came back in my laptop had mysteriously shut itself down. I rebooted it and got the whole "Windows was not properly shut down" thing with the options to restart in Safe Mode and such. I just restarted it regularly and when I got back on that's when I noticed that I had no internet. I re-ran the virus scan and got rid of all of them. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my lack of internet, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

i have factory reset my Toshiba laptop un clicked ipv6 but a setting in vista only gives me local or limited connectivity and im unable to access the internet and my other Toshiba laptop allows me full access along with my phone allows full access to the wireless network therefore tells me the router is not the cause?

I'm running Windows Vista on an ACER Aspire M1610 with a connectivity issue. I was running a static IP address before the connectivity issues. I tried overriding this issue by manually inputting an IP address. I found the IP address the router uses since I currently have multiple computers connected to the same router. However only one computer only have the connectivity issues. The cmd prompt reveals in ipconfig that my IP address as 169.254.14.118, started having problems when a hardware froze my PC and had to reboot it. i uninstalled it, resetted my router and modem, and still have connectivity issues. How do I regain connectivity?

i have a new Acer Aspire 5742Z with standard Windows 7 OEM OS from supplier.I'm trying to connect wireless to my network and i am getting a "limited connectivity" message.
- the network itself - have 10+ machines on the network.
- hardware - I've tried various cards internal and external.the LAN was also having issues until I disabled the QoS on the adaptor, however this does not facilitate the WLAN.I think it must be software issues and was wondering about Acers software as I know Toshiba's "config free" can interfere with WLAN. or there may be more i need to change to the adapter settings.

Internet connectivity on my laptop is lost shortly after beginning to upload/download files over the internet to my cloud storage provider. I also lose connectivity when transferring files to or from the laptop within my LAN to a desktop computer connected via wireless router as part of a workgroup. Connectivity is only restored once I restart the laptop or uninstall, then reinstall drivers for my wireless network card. The issue then reoccurs once file transfers begin again.The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. The driver for my Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN internal network adapter are up to date. I have a Linksys WRT610N ver.2 router, and an HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop.

I have a win 7 netbook that I recently got and for some reason it suddenly cannot keep a connection to the internet. It used to keep a connection before but now I keep getting the error the default gateway is not available about every ten minutes while connected which of course is very frustrating.
I've tried updating all associated drivers but apparently that hasn't changed anything. I've tried restarting the computer and tried different connections. I know its nothing to do with the internet connection I'm trying to connect to as other devices are able to keep a connection with no issue.

I just got a used Acer AspireOne AOA150 ZG5 Netbook and upon bringing it home, I received a "Limited or No Connectivity" error when attempting to use the internet via wireless. I have another laptop that connects at the same time with no issues. The Netbook DOES work if I hardwire into my home router. I have since taken the Netbook to work and it connects to the wireless there with no issues. So it seems to be an issue specifically with my home router/modem and this Netbook.So far I have flushed my DNS cache, done the Winsock and reset my TCP/IP, removed wireless profiles, and tried the Repair function.None of that has worked. My wireless properties are also set to automatically obtain the IP address.I'm on XP SP3 and it seems like a lot of folks think that it's a SP3 issue, but I don't think so in my case since the wireless is fine in other locations. The issue is that one Dell laptop is experiencing slow or no internet connectivity at all using wireless. Sometimes 1 to 2 minutes to load a page, other times the dreaded 'not able to display webpage' message. It's fine using Ethernet. I have another laptop (same exact brand/model) and it has no problems. I also have a Macbook Pro and other Apple IOS devices (iPod/iPads) that are fine. Several Ethernet connected devices are fine as well. The laptop in question had no issues with my previoius Linksys devices, which are a BEFSR41/WAP55AG as well as a WRT-54GS v2. This one laptop was fine the first day or two on the EA4500 but something happened which is causing this issue. I had to add the WAP55AG back onto my network so my son is happy again, but my plan was to decommission the other devices. I am at my friend's house and she cannot connect her Acer laptop to the her own wifi (netgear router). Her iPad and my laptop (lenovo) both can connect to the wifi. This would lead me to believe that the issue is with her computer but her computer can connect to other wifis in the area...just not her own. I am not sure what is causing this...it may be that program "Acer eNet Management" but that still doesn't explain why she can connect to other wifis and not her own. Is there maybe a compatability issue with netgear and her wifi card?

ACER aspire 7520 windows vista 32bit LAPTOp copyright 2007..This damn thing will not connect wirelessly to my DLINK router (which works great for my desktop and xboxlive) the laptop used to connect, and work great, but recently has no connected or been a poor connection.even now i have the laptop beside the router it says connection is excellent but wil not load webpages, msn, etc it uses the Acer enet management window and says WLAN is connect and 54mps but NOTHING! is happening! internet WILL NOT LOAD! and in the other room has poor connection, it used to work great. everything does (desktop and router) except the laptop in the last few weeks.
