Looking at the manual for this router in regards to bandwidth restrictions.When you set up the Rules under Bandwidth Control does this setting shared by the IP range or does each IP in the range get that amount of bandwidth?
I have several computers connected to the network, can I restrict the download bandwidth on specific computer?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis has finally become a BIG problem. Any time I have iTunes running and downloading podcasts, it hogs all the bandwidth for the Internet (but not the local network). This is not only slowing down access from the machine running iTunes and the downloads but for every other device trying to web browse.I'm running two Macs and one Windows/Dell PC on the network. All are hard-wired (Ethernet) to the DIR-655. How to throttle iTunes? I did some research and found that I am apparently not the only one having this issue.I'm about to bail on iTunes entirely and try to get used to Miro, which does allow bandwidth control.

I have a TD-W8970. In settings "Bandwidth Manager" there is an option to put a value between 1 and 8, but does not specify which is better (1 or 8). What the value to give more priority to a computer to another?
When the front-panel WLAN LED light is solid, it indicates that the wireless segment is ready; it blinks during actual wireless data transmission. This is how it behaved for me until I added some MAC addresses to Advanced > Network Filter. Now it stays solid even during wireless data transmission. Even after a reboot. If not, how do I get the blinking back?

After lot of troubleshooting and efforts I figured out there seems to be BUG with routers firmware 0.6.0 1.1 v0005.0 Build 120926 Rel.27100n.When you enable Bandwidth control, FTP stops working from Internet. However, it does work from local network. When you disable Bandwidth control, FTP starts working from internet as well as local network.
I just bought a new wireless router and I currently using my older dlink dir-524 wireless router in my home.eason in buying a new one is because currently the dlink router is in the family room use to be a garage and my wifes imac is in our bedroom the couple rooms down not next door or anything, and the imac and even our smartphones when in our bedroom the connection gets disconnected then reconnected etc etc, basically signal strength is low initially when connected to the router.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe are on a p2p network with 4) windows xp, and 2) windows 7x64. I have a problem with one pc opening files in a shared folder. Only one pc will open the files in the folder as read only and the others will open with full control. I have checked if someone has the files open and no one did. I have checked the share attributes and they are set to full control to all users. The files are in word and xl and did not try anything other type of files. Is there a setting that makes the files read only for one user? This system is the owner and boss (win xp) and need a fix fast.

I just bought the TP Link MR 3020 and tried connecting my Tata Photon Whiz USB (Huawei EC121) modem with it. The TP Link cannot identify the modem. It goes forever into identifying mode. I next tried a Huawei E173 with Reliance 3g sim in it but again no results. The TP Link goes into identifying mode forever. I have installed the latest firmware for the device but am not able to set it up.

my MR 3220 cannot manage tp-link Ma180 modem. At start-up it tryes to identify the modem but after a while the status of the modem shows "Unplugged"
I already updated Router Firmware version. Firmware Version: 3.14.2 Build 120822 Rel.57775n Hardware Version: MR3220 v2 00000000 Signal strengts is weak but enough to access Internet when Ma180 is connect to my PC.

im currently on three netowork usb dongle e3231 and wanting to setup a WiFi network using this dongle would the mr 3220 be a suitable router for my three dongle? also on the tp link site it says the router is battery operated is this the case as im sure it loooks like theres an adaptor plug on the back.

Would it be possible to get huawei e3131 working with other ISP than Poland model? Since it seams to be technically just the same 3g modem, but ISP play locked bin file for it.
I have the Linksys/Cisco router E4200. My question is setting up parental control features as specified in [URL] - specifically the blocking of sites based on certain keywords and/or blocking sites based on age groups (child/teen). I do not see this capability in my Cisco Connect software. Is this feature available for E4200 v1? If so, how can I obtain the software?

I travel and connect this device in the hotels. On this occasion, the hotel wired connection is limited to one device with username/password entered through the web page. Is there a way to share this connection using one of the modes to multiple devices (the devices will run in a different subnet than the hotel network). I understand I can do this in WISP mode but only for sharing hotel wireless connection. The hotel wifi has poor reception, hence I want to use wired. Is there a way to do this? I would imagine this would be not an unusual scenario in many top hotels. Mid hotels generally do not have such limitations.

I am connected to the internet via a non TP=Llink ADSL2 modem/router supplied by my ISP.I was using my TL-MR3220 as a 3G modem but no longer need it for that purpose. I was wondering whether I can now use my TL-MR3220 for two other purposes: as an additional wireless access point and as a means of linking equipment (i.e. printers) to the home network . i have tried connecting the ADSL2 modem/router to the TL-MR3220 via an ethernet cable (one of the 4 LAN ports on the ADSL modem/router to the blue WAN port on the TL-MR3220) but I can get no internet connection through the TL-MR3220.Is this normal i.e. something that the TL-MR3220 is not designed to do, or am I just using the wrong settings ? I have tried a whole range of different settings but none seem to work.

I have just bought TL-MR3220 router to use with Huawei EC315-2 USB 3G modem, but it is not being identified by the router. I checked compatibility list and it is not in 3G modem compatibility list. I'm using the TL-MR3220 hardware version 2.0. Firmware version 3.13.12 Build 120703 Rel.58323n. I'm using D-Link DWM-156 3.75G HSUPA USB Adapter.The problem I'm encountering is the router does not auto detect the 3G USB adapter when I power up the router. The router will detect the 3G adapter only when I plug out and plug in the 3G USB adapter. I used to have the same router but version 1.2. Version 1.2 does not have this problem.

My Hardware version is v2.Just now I bought this router. When I am trying to configure it with default firmware is not identifying the modem itself. So Afyter facing this problem, I updated my Router firmware(TL-MR3220_v_2_120822) and retry the process. But this time, It identified the modem for few seconds, then its changes its trying to connecting, after that its change it state to unplugged. It is doing these steps repeatably.
