Unidentified Network In Windows 7 With D-link Router?
Mar 9, 2013
I`ve run into some trouble connecting to the internet after unplugging my router & modem yesterday and when i plugged them back in again i can`t connect to internet anymore. My computer have a wired ethernet cable connection and i also have a router (D-link DIR-635) giving internet to my iPhone & iPad.When i connect the ethernet cable from computer directly to the broadband modem i get internet without any trouble but when i connect it via the router, i keep getting "unidentified network" error i windows 7.Here`s what i`ve done so far trying to solve this,1. Uninstalled the driver for my network card (Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) and re-installed but without any luck..2. Resetted the router & also changed to another router (D-link DIR-615) with the exact same results.
recently i bought a phone that has the ability to connect your pc to the internet. It has worked great, but when i connect my ps3 or another computer to my laptop which i use the phone with, they all come up as unidentified network. I tried changing the setting on my computer, but cant seem to figure out how to change it from unidentified to home, so i can use the internet on connected pc's and my ps3.
I am in a network, where my laptop works in all other routers except my room's router, whereas other's laptop/PC supports my room's routerI'm out of the network. However, I'm now in same network, coin another router.
I have my wireless router that gives internet to all my computers (4), each one having their own usb wifi adaptor. This part works fine, never had any issue with internet. Each of the computers also have its own GBE adapter but i wasn't really using them. Until now, i bought a switch and connected all 4 computers through rj-45 to the switch just so i could transfer files easier and especially much faster than through the wireless. This is where my problem is, the network works, i can see and transfer files just fine, the issue being, on each and every computer, the lan is considered as unidentified public network. I've tried everything i could think of, yet, nothing, i can't change the status of the lan connection.
My laptop is unable to connect to the internet. It recognizes my wireless connection (public network) as "unidentified network" and Access: "Local only." I've tried using many other solutions but I still haven't found a way to fix this. My other laptops, computers, and gaming devices are able to connect to my linksys router except for this laptop. [code]
So one day i turned my computer on and the internet said unidentified network, i been using the same modem with Verizon it worked fine. I have disabled the adapter, unistalled it all that and still does not work, i tried to make a new connection it still does not work, im in school and my computer is how i submit my work. I have called technical support with verizon they said its my computer.
I had an issue with my Win 7 networking on LAN but no problem on wifi. When I plug in the network cable, it takes very long time to detect, and when it does, it shows Unidentified Network - No Internet Access and stays as public network. I do not have the normal options to choose Home, Work or Public Network. This happen at my work place. But my colleagues which on Win 7 have no issue. I tried to uninstall the anti-virus, disable the window firewall, but still fails to detect. There are few LAN port at my work place but it produce the same issue, very, very slow to detect.
So usually I'm using my Windows 7 + USB Modem with ICS enabled to give my xbox 360 internet access and it's working fine. But after upgrading it to Windows 8, my Local Area Connection now becomes Unidentified Network so I can't give my Xbox internet connection again. In diagnose the problem it says that "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration.
Two days since i had a power shutdown in my building so i had to disconnect both the modem and the routerfter i reconnected them my wireless network is shown and i can connect through my hp laptop but it keeps showing the Message "unidentified network not internet access". Other laptops and my ipod have no problem at all. I've tried following some tutorials that told me to disable and enable the network, i've checked that my ip is obtained automatically.
It is running on windows vista home premium 32 bit sp1, if that matters.I have just had my computer's motherboard changed recently. After reinstalling the wireless adapter, the internet works! Until I found when I came back later that my internet shows unidentified network with limited connectivity. It happened when I was not around and my computer went into hibernate mode after downloading firefox installer. There is no antivirus installed, so it can't be a problem. My wireless adapter is the usb type, brand tplink: TL-WN721N. Tried a few methods suggested by the internet but nothing works: unchecking the iv6 box, follow the steps that starts with the regedit part, uninstall and reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter, fix the ip address. There is no problem with the network as the rest of the computers and laptops in the house has no network issues. But all of them are running on windows 7.
I have been working with a friend set up a brand new laptop with Win-7 Home Premium (64 bit) preinstalled. I did the initial set-up at my home, with the machine connected via broadband internet cable to my router. I had absolutely no problem getting it to connect with the internet. Didn't bother to try getting the thing going wirelessly at my location. During the initial setup, I selected "home" as the network type (as opposed to public, etc.)But, when I took the machine to the owner's home, it wouldn't connect via her broadband modem.
Mousing over the network icon in the tray area brings up a tool-tip baloon, "Unidentified Network, No internet access). Opening the Sharing Center shows the network as "Unidentified Network, Public Network. None of the settings accessible to me from that point seemed useful or relevant.I have not been able to find appropriate settings to redefine the network type, etc. Her old machine, which is in the process of dying, is still able to connect, and I'm using the same cable to connect both machines. To top it off, I very recently upgraded my own laptop to Win-7, so I took it over there and it exhibits the same problem. And, if I bring her machine back to my house it connects right up with no fuss at all.
My windows 7 computer was connected to my home's wireless network yesterday perfectly normally. I drove last night to my mother's house and proceeded to connect to her own wifi router wirelessly. Although my sister's computer that's on windows 7 connects ably, and both our iPhones connect, my computer will not. My computer finds the network( it is unsecured without a password if that makes a difference ) connects, receives an ipv4 address in ipconfig, yet does not obtain Internet access. It labels the network as an "unidentified network".
I have an Acer Aspire X1200 with Windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct.I've tried searching for tutorials on how to fix this issue.I have cable internet through TimeWarnerCable, Roadrunner.Already called up timewarner's customer support and they were unable to fix the problem. Went and exchanged the cable modem for a different one.I've tried changing the network to private, but it keeps reverting back to public itself. (I'm at a different family members on the same street right now after getting this information) [code]
I have HP Dx7500 with windows 7 ultimate 32bit using intel 82567v-2 gigabite network connection the pc is connected to a router (D-Link 2760u) with a cable through 2 network points
I worked with this configuration for a month with no problems until one day after automatic restart coused by windows update i couldnt connect to the internet
As for now the pc is unable to identify my home network (when you look at the network adapter you can see "Unidentified network - No internet access") Ipconfig brings back APIPA 169.254... All the laptops in the house are connecting to the network with no problems when connecting with wireless adapter everything works fine
I tried the folowing : - update the network adapter driver - reseting the TCPIP protocol (netsh) - static ip
In my office there is n computing using a Digisol router, and a Broadband connection(BSNL) whose modem is of ZTE. My boss has blocked the internet service to those systems and the error message is "Local Area Network doesn't have a valid IP configuration". how to unblock it as a system parallel to it which is independent from N computing is having internet connection.....
I bought a new router last night in an attempt to fix some internet issues. I replaced my old router (an N150 lynksis) with the one I bought (an N300 netgear) and after getting all the wires connected, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet and it wouldnt recognize the router as anything other than "Unidentified Network". I've tried reseting and power cycling the modem, shuting down the computer, even some random tips from the internet but nothing seems to be working.
I am running windows 7 which has recently been updated from Vista. other computers on the wifi network are running vista. I have a net gear CG3000 IStaus router/cable modem attached to one of the other computers on the network. My network adapter is TP-Link.My firewall is commodore and my virus software is avast (both free versions). My SP is Optus. When I first installed windows 7 everything was working fine . In the last few weeks when I login to my computer, I can attach to the other computers but I have no internet connection. When I go into manage wireless networks it says I am connected to an unidentified network which has no Internet connection. I have tried deleting this network from " manage wireless networks", moving it down in this list, making it a manual connection. I have uninstalled the network adapter and reinstalled it and other ideas picked up from the web. Nothing seems to work. Sometimes I will get a quick window where it will work but then it disconnects again and the unidentified network is back. Not today though so am typing this on my IPad. I can't download or install XIRUS WIFI for obvious reasons.
I have a Dell Aspire 5332 laptop and i haven't used it since November 2012 (where it was working fine). It had Windows updates when i switched it off. I switched it on today and i have no internet connection. When hovering over the icon it says unidentified network - no internet access. My service provider is British Telecom and i am on the Fibre Optic package. I am using the BT Home Hub 2.0.Fibre Type B and also a Echolife HG 612 model FTCC VDSL NTE Router. I have Norton installed on the machine but there is only 1 day left on the subscription. I have tried a wired connection from the router but still have the same message. 2 other computers are wired to the router and all of our Ipads and Macbook connect wirelessly with no problems.
when i open the network folder i do not see icon of the router. when i was dsl-2641b the icon showing under network infrastructure panel but now i do not see this panel. if i open network and sharing center an then i open "see full map" i see the router icon.
I have 2 Windows 7 desktops that are both connected to seperate vonage boxes and those vonage boxes are connected to my D-Link DIR-655 router. That D-Link router is getting its connection from a Comcast router. I am looking to get one of the desktops to share a printer from the other one which has it hard wired via USB cable. When I first set this up I did not have the vonage boxes and the desktops were connected right into the router and everything worked fine. Now that the vonage boxes are in place it is a mess. I can get internet fine on both machines, but no file/printer sharing. I have followed all the steps to setup the correct workgroup and file and printer sharing options on both windows 7 machines but they cannot see each other at all. My feeling is that now that the vonage boxes are there that instead of the desktops looking at the D-Link router for its sharing option they are looking at the vonage boxes and that is why they cant be seen. Does this make sense? Is there a firewall on the vonage boxes stopping these two desktops from seeing each other? Do I have to change something on the D-Link router options for it to give access to the vonage boxes for these 2 machines to see each other for printer/file sharing?
i can search for networks. As you can tell i am currently on the internet on my laptop. I can search for the current network i am on through my adapter. I then connect to it. It says im connected to a unidentified network. It will not let me search the internet or anything else.
During this time we've had two different Internet Service Providers as well as two different modems. Also we've had 9 different devices connected to modem wirelessly. ( 2 Desktops, 3 laptops, 2 Xbox 360s, and 2 Nintendo Dss ) And this desktop is the only one that has had any issues, it's also the oldest of the devices. So I doubt the issue lies within networking but more with the actual desktop. I've even conneceted the desktop straight to the modem with an ethernet cord, also to no avail.
ok i did the cmd ipconfig and it says media state disconnected.also i uninstall a network adapter it was the isatap one also it had a yellow mark one it so thats why i tryed to uninstall it i thought it would let me install it agian but it didnt so i did that add legacy hardware so now it shows it in the hidden devices tad with out that yellow mark also when i try the problem and solution found the isatap sayinf could not load driver software click on it and it says windows was able to successfully install device driver software but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run.the problem code is 31. the control panel tad would all was say microsoft windows came up saying window explorer has stopped working windows is checking for solution to the problem windows explorer the internet was working then and it still was i think it had that internet ball on it but when i try to use the internet it wouldnt connect
am in the process of setting up an online business and now all of a sudden I have no internet access which is not good! I am connected to the router but it says unidentified network, local only...When I lost connectivity I spoke to my ISP provider and they took me through all the steps then determined that it is the router that is at fault and are sending me a new one. HOWEVER after I hung up I remembered I have an old router so I tried that one, same thing, then my neighbours gave me access to their wi-fi, same thing.... so suspecting that it is not the router I have dug out an old laptop which now connects fine to my router wirelessly.
I switched on my laptop today and it wouldn't connect to the internet because of an 'unidentified network' problem. Last night before I went to bed it was surfing the net fine and then this morning, nothing. No one has touched the laptop overnight and it was switched off all night so I have no idea how this has happened. I'm using my internet connection via my iPhone with no problems. I've already tried several things to try and fix the problem - I've reinstalled all network adapters, have fiddled with IPv4 settings, have deleted and re-setup my network connection, and have restored Windows to a previous point. I can't connect my laptop to the router using a cable because I live in a bock of flats where lots of people share the same router and it's locked in a security box, so I'm just using a wireless connection.
Right now I've been staying at a hotel and my internet doesn't work while my brothers laptop connects flawlessly. The only way the internet works again is by me tapping the power button and putting it to sleep and turning it back on then the internet works but only for a couple of minutes.
I've tried everything, I've installed the latest wireless driver worked a little then went back to the same problem then I rolled back the driver it worked then it went back to the same problem. I've tried everything I checked power options, I reset the winsock and Ip,I tried a vpn still no luck. If I go to network and sharing center and trouble shoot it say that the adapter is not plugged in or the DHCP is not enabled which it is. Like today I could barely get on because it just showed unidentified network with no hope of connecting. On Xirrus it shows the hotel has more one ssid with the same name.
my gateway laptop, running vista 64 home premium, cannot connect to the internet at home. connects straight to the modem via ethernet. displays as 'unidentified network'. according to the Atlantic BB tech(my ISP), my laptop is not obiaining an IP addy from the modem. The modem seems good, and the tech could see the modem from his end, but no IP addy from the laptop. ran ipconfig /all from home and the gateway was 207.255.36.1(preferred) instead of 192.168.x.x So i'm stumped with no net at home. the ipv4 properties do have the obtain automatically button checked, and dhcp is enabled. had the tech reset the provisioning on the modem & he said the mac addresses were cleared already. i reset the ipv4, ipv6, and winsock. haven't gotten anywhere. tech's last advice was to bring the modem back and swap it for another one.
Namely an Unidentified Network with no NETWORK access. Some information first, the NIC that Im using is the Realtek PCIe Family Controller, Ive updated the drivers, Ive uninstalled, Ive reinstalled. Ive basically been on the internet for the past two days trying all the solutions. Including refreshing and renewing my ip, trying a static ip (although, Im still not sure if I did this step correctly) Ive tried disabling IPV6, Ive tried adjusting my speedflux. The problem is also intermittent with seemingly no reason whatsoever, some days Ill go without internet for the entire day, then the next day Ill boot up my computer and Ill have internet again. It should be noted that when I enable WIRELESS on my laptop, Im able to connect to the network, but when I enable wired, I am not able to.
Here is the ipconfig /all for when Im connected wirelessly and have a connection.
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:Windowssystem32>ipconfig /all
[Code]....
It should be noted that I am using powerline adapters for my connection, but as I said, this problem only recently started cropping up. I went fine for almost a week with no problems, then all of a sudden it started happening. Im still able to connect wirelessly so its not too much of an issue, but I prefer via Ethernet..
My pc is windows 7ultimate and my laptop is vista ultimate. the router is connecting fine to the pc. as i try to connect to the laptop it keeps saying unidentified network and local access only. i tired different things but nothing seems to work. it will work only when there is no password on the wireless.
Recently I've been having some internet problems. Namely an Unidentified Network with no NETWORK access.the NIC that I'm using is the Realtek PCIe Family Controller, I've updated the drivers, I've uninstalled, I've reinstalled. I've basically been on the internet for the past two days trying all the solutions. Including refreshing and renewing my ip, trying a static ip (although, I'm still not sure if I did this step correctly) I've tried disabling IPV6, I've tried adjusting my speedflux, believe me I've tried just about everything, I don't have one blue link left when it comes to my google searches on fixing this problem. The problem is also intermittent with seemingly no reason whatsoever, some days Ill go without internet for the entire day, then the next day I'll boot up my computer and I'll have internet again. It should be noted that when I enable WIRELESS on my laptop, I'm able to connect to the network, but when I enable wired, I am not able to.[code] I'm still able to connect wirelessly so its not too much of an issue, but I prefer via Ethernet.
basically was online with my desktop until around 4am central US time. Went into the other room and fell asleep. Woke up around 9am, sat back down, Unidentified network and No Internet access. That's where this god-awful day began. I've tried so many things (from tech forums) I may forget a few... I've tried disabling IPv6, disabling Bonjour, enabling/disabling the adapter card, all kinds of stuff in the command prompt... reset this, flush that, restart restart restart restart restart. I uninstalled the adapter driver, rebooted, installed the latest from a flash drive, didn't do anything. Really the only suggestion I haven't taken is recovering Win7 from factory specs and reinstalling about everything since one guy said that still didn't fix it and this is causing enough trouble already without more misery in the mix.
The wireless adapter keeps saying unidentified network, I can connect from other computers and they are all working fine.Forgot to mention its a ASUS wireless n-15 adapter, also the system is a Windows 7 64 bit.
My wireless adaptor is preventing me from connecting to the internet at home, it enables to me o find the router and type in a password but only shows " unidentified network and local connectivity" with no access to the internet. When connecting via LAN, i am able to surf the internet. i have tried a full system restore, update drivers , enable and disable drivers but still nothing
