Windows Server 2003 Group Policy Block Downloading?
Mar 31, 2013
I am interested in knowing how to check on my 2003 Server what usernames are blocked from downloading. Many of the clients seemed to have downloaded Google Talk and also Spotify. I was wondering if I can check -where it is located and how to enforce this policy. (or create it if it isn't in effect correctly)
I have a windows server 2003 ent., with about 6pcs and a couple of macs. I don't want the server to connect to the internet, though every computer only has one network card. I want all the clients to access the internet but not the server. How do I set this up.
Is it possible to have my file server only accessable in the LAN. I would like to block all inbound/outbound traffic outside of the LAN. I back up all of my personal files to that server and some contain sensitive information.
I'm using 2003 server for DHCP settings. I don't want some computers to get ip address automatically but if they put manually ip address, it's ok, they can connect. How it can be done?I mean when those computers try to connect for wireless, they should not get any ip address (so internet) until they put manually ip address, default gateway and dns server.
I planned for my customer to replace his old LMS 4.0.1 server under Windows 2003 by a new server under Windows 2008 R2.Customer wants also to set a new LMS name and IP address for the new server under Windows 2008 R2 and keep both servers on the network.I'm wondering what could be the best procedure to do that migration. Can I used backup / restore procedure in that case ?If yes, what file must I modify to adapt the new LMS configuration to new hostname and IP Address ?
I'm running a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition server that is currently the domain controller, and a Windows 7 Ultimate client. I have a 'Test' user for messing around with group policy - anyway, on the client Start Menu it has 'Test User' which leads to some form of libraries folder. Is it possible to restrict the link without removing their name?
After getting New Workstations, I wanted to connect that to the SERVER but Windows 7 could not log into domain of our server with Windows Server 2003. Besides following the proper process/steps. I am able to use the printer and internet shared through SERVER though.
I have an Active Directory with Windows 2003 Server and all clients with windows xp and I set default group policy for all clients now I install windows 7 ultimate on one computer and want to join it to domain I have tried to join it and it was. But the policies which I set for windows xp machines on Domain are takes place by windows 7 eg. I have a windows 2003 server. It had been working and then a couple of days ago the computers on the network could no longer find the server. I cannot ping the server anymore. I have replaced and tested all cords and routers between the computers and the server
I try to map LDAP Group to ASA Group policy following documentation:
[URL]
This is a config for ASA 8.0. I would have expected it to work on 8.4 as well but I do run into problems. The mapping as shown in LDAP Debug and ASA Log will actually happen but it is overwritten by the "GPnoAccess" Group Policy configured locally in the Tunnel Group. From earlier works with RADIUS I would have expected the user specific Attribute to be "stronger"? ASA Log:
AAA retrieved user specific group policy (correct Policy) for user = XXX AAA retrieved default group policy (GPnoAccess) for user = XXX
In my organization we are having 12, LMS 3.2 servers deployed across the globe. As per Audit policy we need to deploy Microsoft win2003 server security patches on all servers using WSUS. Every month our server team sends us query before applying the patches regarding it's compatibility with LMS.
A windows server (W2000) acting as remote access server (The LAN we are trying to reach is behind this equipment). In other site we have a 881 ISR.I need to configure a VPN between the Server and the CISCO. The goal is to access from the PC behind the CISCO to the corporative LAN where the access server sits on without install the CISCO client in every client PC.
i have recently added to a domain. The initial setup is a server running windows 2003 and several xp machines which logon to the domain using mandatory profiles. However, after adding windows 7 machines and logging them on to the system it doesnt load the profiles. (which is fine as I understand you cannot use the same profiles with windows 7+xp)The problem is it automatically creates a roaming profile when logging off and saves it back to the same path as the other profiles under user.V2 which is growing considerably and causing huge logoff and logon times. How can I get the windows 7 machines to not attempt roaming profiles back to the server and instead to just save the profiles locally when logging off.
I've got a windows server 2003 running a big application (sage1000) but suddenly it seems that users cannot access the server by unc path.i've also test to access \server on the server itself doesen't work.
When I try and copy files from my Windows 7 Home PC to my Windows Server 2003 share, it copies so much then hangs the Server sharing. It then appears that the share has disappeared. If I copy from the Server 2003 to 7, it copies fine, and copying from XP to 2003 also works fine. I had a chat with a colleague who told me that he has the same problem copying from Vista to XP.
So I just installed Windows Server 2003 64 bit on an older HP Proliant DL360 G5 and am trying to connect it to my network but neither of the 2 NIC's are showing up under Network Connections... the only option I am given is the ''Add Network Places Wizard''.
I have an ethernet cable plugged into NIC 1 and the LED's work so I know it's not a bad NIC card- do I have to download drivers for the NIC? Do I download them to a USB/CD and then just boot from that?
If I have two servers, one running Windows Server 2003, and one running Ubuntu 10, what would be the best way to 'map' one's drive to another? Either way is fine. They are each in a different state, and each have an external IP. I just need to do some processing on the Ubuntu server, then write the file either to its own drive, and have the web server (Windows) read it, or, have it write to the Windows HDD, and have Windows read it.
We have a 1941 router configured with LAN/WAN access. Additionally, we need to allow outside Microsoft RRAS connections to an inside Windows 2003 R2 Server. What commands are required to enable this?
WAN IP: 211.XXX.XXX.XXX Server IP: 10.XXX.XXX.XXX
We've configured the 1941 router to allow outside RDC/RDP to the server at 10.XXX.XXX.XXX
