View 1 RepliesSo, I reformatted using an old XP disc, Got the Ethernet Driver set up fine, but now I can not connect to the Internet, because the card refuses to fetch the DNS Addie, and default gateway, it's the only computer in the house having issues, the computer I am having problems on is an old Hp Dv 9317cl series, with a nivida chipset Ether card.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing an issue with a LAN connection on my Desktop computer running Win 7 x64 with an NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller. I am receiving a "Limited or No Connectivity" message but I know the Router and LAN cable are good as I can plug it into a laptop sitting right next to me and do not experience any issues.I have checked the original manufacturers website for drivers however they do not offer any for Win 7. Trying the Vista x64 drivers results in the same limited connectivity issue.Hardware Specs I have on the Computer:
- Shuttle SN68SG2
- NVIDIA GeForce 7025
- 7 Series Glamor small form factor XPC Barebone
I have also tried the latest drivers from NVIDIA with the same results. [code]
I found out my onboard ethernet port was fried, so i went out an bought a RTL8139D ethernet PCI adapter. I fitted the adapter and plugged my cable in. It said Limited or no connectivity. After hours and hours of googling I tried everything. I changed the protocols, created static Ip's went into cmd and reset winsock catalogs, release/renew etc. The cable I am using worked previously in my room and it still works. (I took a laptop up to my room and plugged in the cable and had internet connection). So... I took my PC downstairs and used a different cable. This successfully connected me to the internet. That Rules out that my new ethernet card is the problem. MY cable also allows others to connect to the internet. Windows 7 64X Ultimate edition.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the N600 DB Wireless Router with my ISP (Road Runner) I can connect wireless thru a laptop and a tablet, but when I try to connect wired(LAN) thru desktop (XP Pro SP3) I receive the Limited or No Connectivity. If I bypass the router and plug straight into the cable modem I can connect without issue. I have tried resetting the router, modem and computer to no avail.
Here are the results for ipconfig and ipconfig /renew C:>ipconfig

My computer constantly goes to 'limited connectivity', for no reason. Everyone else's computer is fine, it's just mine. I have to restart the wireless access point router to get it to connect again, even though everyone else connected to the AP can access the internet. Even restarting my computer doesn't fix it. It's like the access point and my computer just don't like each other!

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a BEFSR41 v3 firmware v 1.05.00 - i have been usuing it for at least 7 or 8 years now - at one time i had 3 computers hooked up and they all three worked fine. Now i have 2 plugged into the router - both are xppro machines - the one i am now works with no problems. The other computer however has the limited or no connectivity problem.I used this router for years without any problems then one day this ip conflict message started to appear. Then one day i started getting this weird ip conflict message on both computers but only occasionaly - it never caused any problems - if you ignored it - it would simply go away. Then one day computer #2 got the limited or no connectivity message - i simple reboot fixed it. This solution worked several times. Computer #1 has never had any problems.
Sometime later the limited or no connectivity problem reappeared and this time a reboot did not work - i searched for a fix and decided to try changing the link speed from auto sense to 10mb half duplex - this solved the problem. This solution worked several times.Sometime after that the limited or no connectivity reappeared and after some searching i upgraded the routers firmware - this solved the problem.Sometime later the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time i had to actually uninstall the NIC, reboot and then let it redetect the NIC and then the problem was fixed. This solution worked several times.Sometime later the limited or no connectivity reappeared and the previous solutions did not work to fix it - after searching for a fix i discovered that i could simply unplug the router and the plug it back in and this would solve the problem. This solution worked many times.Sometime later (wich brings us to 3 or 4 months ago) the limited or no connectivity reappeared and this time after searching for a fix i was able to fix it by updating the NIC drivers. Problem solved. This brings us to now - the limited or no connectivity has reappeared and none of the previous fixes correct the problem. When i originally set everything up it worked immediately out of the box.
DHCP is enabled - everything is set to obtain an ip address automatically. At first the event viewer reported The IP address lease 192.168.1.100 for the Network Card with network address0xxxxxxxxx has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1. {The DHCP Serversent a DHCPNACK message}.Now the even viewer just tells me it is using ip address 169.254.xxxxxx - (not the exact message but i didn't wanna go back and look)I have tried all of the previous fixes to no avail. I've tried shutting everything off and turning everything back on - i've tried resetting both the modem and the router - i've tried upgrading the firmware again. I even downloaded LELA and installed it on both computers thinking maybe it would detect and fix the problem buy no such luck. LELA simply tells me that computer #1 is working normally. On computer #2 when i installed LELA the first thing it did was try to find the router and it tells me it cannot find it.I.ve tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew - i've tried it one after the other and also a reboot in between. I've tried clicking on repair in the LAN status - i've tried even tried different cables and switching ports on the router.
My wireless show connected connection give me a 'limited or not connectivity' but a wired connection has no problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having some gripes with the above problem for the past few days, connecting several PCs in my office into a network. To cut a long story short, it's a bunch of XP SP2 and SP3 machines with only some of them having these issues. The network consists of two switches and one router with integrated modem and wireless. Internet access is established over that router/ ADSL modem.I have drawn out all the cabling and made all the connections myself, I don't doubt network related hardware one bit. Basically, I had the problem on two PCs, I tested connectivity on that cable with a laptop which didn't have any problems connecting to the network. All the cables are brand new, "straight" connectedC

View 19 Replies View RelatedI manage a small office network IP's are generated via a rooter. I need to add a new pc to the network and here is where the problem starts.I have a cable from a HUB in that office which has a splitter 1 way goes to a PC the other is empty. At first i tried connecting the other PC from that splitter but i get the Limited or no Connectivity message on both PCs. If i connect only one of them to the splitter the connection works fine. Now i tried with a HUB, made a Crossover cable from the splitter to the HUB in the WAN port, same deal both PCs get Limited ot no Connectivity. THe strange thing is that if i connect only one via the HUB the same thing happens.I am really out of ideas, my only option left is to connect the PC from the main HUB which means allot of cable posing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen using an Ethernet cord, I have no problems connecting to the internet. Also, my iPhone and my Wii have no problems connecting (wirelessly). However, I can't get any laptops to connect to my wireless. I have tried three different laptops and get the same problem, that it can connect to the network but limited or no connectivity.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a spare computer I build. Its a FX-60 on some old asus 939 motherboard. I installed xp in it because I don't have any wireless network adapters that work with linux or Windows 7.I am using an old Linksys WUSB11 Ver 2.6. USB adapter. The computer does have connectivity if I plug in an ethernet cord from the router. Worked fine, fast, was able to install Sp3, etc.I can't get the wireless to work. I get excellent connection strength, but can't actually do anything with it.Since this is XP and I haven't messed around with XP network settings for years, I think I got a bit rusty and spoiled with Windows 7.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the urge to play a Windows game, so I used my restore disks to install XP on my Acer Aspire One A150. Unfortunately, my wireless card does not work anymore (?). I am dual-booting with Ubuntu 10.10 at the moment and my wireless card works there with no problem.I get a Limited or No Connectivity error every time.I'm connected to a router, which I have reset and works okay in Linux. I am connected currently using a USB D-Link N-Adapter, however, despite being "N" is considerably slower and inconvenient.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI usually bring my laptop to classes to do homework during my free period and it connects through ethernet no problem. Today, randomly it says theres limited connectoin (no internet connection), but there's numerous other people here with laptops who are connected through the ethernet or wireless network, and their having no problems. I've already tried shutting my computer down and that didn't work, and since this is a school, the internet connection has to be steady, etc. What can I do to fix this? Some details about the laptop[CODE]
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy desktop PC ran Vista Home Premium and about over a year ago, suddenly developed the dreaded, 'Limited Availability' connection error when I tried to connect via ethernet cable to my D-Link dir 615 router.I have tried all possibilities (detailed in the other forums I have posted this issue in), like all the ipconfig commands in the CMD prompt, rebooted modem and router and pc but still getting this issue. [codde] As you can see - the Belkin wifi dongle connects fine, with an IP address of 192.168.0.101, however, the SiS191 ethernet controller (which has current and up to date drivers) refuses to connect and gives an IP of 169.254.241.0.I have also tried copying the settings from the wifi dongle and manually entering them for the ethernet connection but this also does not work..I don't think its an issue with my router as I also have a laptop, connected via ethernet, which works fine. Also have 2 iPhones, 1 iPod, 1 iPad, Xbox and Wii which ALL connect to the same router (via wifi) without any issues.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay so I have a dual boot computer(windows xp3 and Linux Ubuntu). The Ubuntu wireless works so that means my hardware actually works, but my windows xp doesn't connect. First I have the xp3 so my recovery disk from Toshiba some of the stuff is outdated. I installed intel chip-set, intel proset(my wireless) , wireless LAN, oh the stuff that have to do with wireless and still doesn't work. This is what happens, proset finds the router tries to connect and it says limited. I tried repairing it but nothing works. P.S. the stuff that are outdated are like the QFE ( those are a lot of files in my Toshiba recovery and every time i try to install them they don't work they say that the system I am using is better than the stuff i am trying to install)(QFE is also just the name in front of the file and there is at least 25+ , don't know why it is QFE)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently moved into a new apartment and when I connect to the router using the wireless. I get limited connectivity, it accepts the security key but can not get the internet. Connect wirelessly to another router within range and can connect to the internet via that. Also if I connect a ethernet cable to the router it gives me internet access. I couldn't see any settings in the routers menu that would prevent me from connecting(but im probably being blind).
Two other guys I'm sharing the apartment with can connect to the internet wirelessly with no issues. The router is a Thomson TWG870UIR.

I was having some trouble with my sound cards and when I tried to automatically update the drivers my network connection cut out and now I cant get it to work correctly. All of the other laptops work fine.So initially I thought it was malware so I ran hijack this but i didnt see anything suspicious. I can see in ipconfig /all that the ip address subnet and default gateway are correct and I have the same DNS servers as the laptops that work fine. I can ping my router and the DNS server but not any of the laptops on my network or any external IP address.

View 14 Replies View Relatedi have a windows 7 laptop that ive just recently purchased. The wireless Connectivity was working fine last week, now suddenly it just wont work. I believe that its due to a program i recently installed that goes by the name of Connectify. I have uninstalled it yet still whenever i try connecting to any router wirelessly, the PC displays limited or no connectivity. On the other hand When i connect my laptop to a router via an Ethernet cable everything is fine. In case you are wondering, im currently using a 3g usb wireless stick to surf the internet, but i dont want to use it as i already have a router to use.
