My wireless connections works fine on my laptop (Samsung S3511) but won't work on my PC. When it does, it disconnects a LOT and the strength keeps changing. I'm not sure what's going wrong. Drivers are up to date, and everything seems to be normal on my Desktop
View 5 RepliesRecently I installed connectify because my uni flat only had one wired outlet, and I wanted to use my xbox at the same time. It worked perfectly, but when I returned home I found my laptop could no longer connect to the home network, it just says it cannot connect, but all the over devices in the house work. My laptop can still connect to the internet via an ethernet cable but this isnt practical at home. I've uninstalled the connectify program, and tried my best to make sure I got rid of all the stuff it's done, but still my problem persists

It is not always like this but more often than not even though my pc connects fine (my pc is on ethernet). Sometimes switching to router on and off works, but its a real pain as both computers are often in use.When i click on the yellow triangle it says 'connected with limited access' (or something similar).

Laptop will not connect.It finds the network but will not connect, stating time out has occurred.All other computers in house are connecting to network with no problem. Running Windows Vista. Have rebooted modem, rebooted computer.Even plugged computer in directly to modem and it connects fine but will not connect wirelessly.

It might work for a little bit ( sometimes an hour, sometimes only a few minutes) but then it will completely refuse to connect. The wireless LAN is enabled, it even shows full signal on the laptop it just will not connect. The LAN is enable but the button for it is blinking, I don't remember it blinking before. I'm not sure if that could be the problem. As its connecting it just says " waiting for the network" and that happens for about a minute then it just disappears.

Xbox live connected via through the netgear router(access point), works great. Now i just recently bought a power cord for an old laptop, charged it, working fine. Its a Compaq laptop, with a vista OS. My problem is not finding the router and/or connecting to it. I just cant seem to access the internet. It shows local connection only with an unidentified network, but it shows my routers name(LOTUS). There is alittle red X in-between the unidentified network and the internet. I pulled off the ip config/all on the vista laptop.

My laptop- Dell, Windows XP sp2, connects wireless to the Netgear, but not to internet, using DSL It does connect using ethernet, and other pc in house connects to the internet wireless.It stalls aquiring IP Address, it had been working fine up until a week ago. I have a Netgear wireless router (WGR614v7) and I am unable to connect. it detects the network but when I click on it it asks me for the network key, I type it in and then it says performing WPA-PSK authentication, and then it says 802.1x failure and a window pops up with signal strength and "unfortunately you failed to associate to*. This may be due to poor signal, incorrect WEP keys or a security method designed to prevent unauthorized access. Please check your settings and select tretry or cancel. Signal strength is -50dBm. I used to be able to connect to it with no problem and then I got a Sprint air card and I have been using that. I do not know of an event that may have changed this...

View 4 Replies View RelatedA couple of months ago my battery in my laptop stopped holding a charge. Ever since then I've had a lot of problems. The first was the USB drive would not recognize my mouse and the red light on the mouse would not even come on. Now I have 20 different yellow triangles on all of my drivers in driver manager and I can troubleshoot and fix all of them except for RRnetcap miniport 8. And even if I troubleshoot ill just have the same problem when I turn it off and on again. I have a new PSU in the laptop so that can't be the problem. I'm connected to my wireless network but it says no Internet acess.
