Laptop Won't Connect Wireless Or With Ethernet?

A couple of months ago my battery in my laptop stopped holding a charge. Ever since then I've had a lot of problems. The first was the USB drive would not recognize my mouse and the red light on the mouse would not even come on. Now I have 20 different yellow triangles on all of my drivers in driver manager and I can troubleshoot and fix all of them except for RRnetcap miniport 8. And even if I troubleshoot ill just have the same problem when I turn it off and on again. I have a new PSU in the laptop so that can't be the problem. I'm connected to my wireless network but it says no Internet acess.

ok I bought a dell inspiron 710m used, no warranty etc... on top of a few other problems i just came to find out that I can not connect to the internet via Ethernet, at first it didn't have the drivers, I got those installed great, I connected the cable and it said it was connected, great awesome, then I tried getting online and it said couldn't connect, didn't even really try loading the web page, said I had limited or no connectivity but said i was connected to the modem i have been trying to do this on my own since like last Wednesday and I SUCK

I have an HP laptop (vista) and I can connect to the internet when I use the ethernet cable but when I don't have the ethernet in, it just says that it is an unidentified network and an only connect locally. I have run an ipconfig/all and this is what I get:

My D-Link won't allow my laptop to connect to the Internet through an Ethernet connection. I set up the router using a standard Ethernet patch cable and cloned the laptop's MAC address to connect through the Mediacom modem. I then decided to test out the wireless and got that all set up, works perfect. Now I cannot connect to the Internet using the Ethernet cable.

I have a Dell Laptop Latitude 610 and I have not been able to connect to the Internet via the ethernet cable port for some four months now. I've tried downloading software from Dell's web site, I bought (and returned) and USB to Ethernet cable, only to find out that it was a model ahead of what this machine needs.I've asked local repair place (Microcenter) what it might be, but they'll only tell me after I pay $70 just to open it up.Another repair guy said that it is probably the motherboard and it wasn't worth fixing. My one question is, when I go to the adapter settings and go to the sharing tab on the properties of my wireless, what does the check box named 'Allow other users to connect through this computer's internet connection' do?

I have just moved in to a basement apartment and can connect to the internet with my wireless but not with the ethernet cord ran downstairs for me. The other computers upstairs work fine on ethernet through the same router. I do not understand what the problem could be. here are my configs:

I have a Netgear wireless router and just set up my wireless network.The only problem is that when I remove the ethernet cable, I lose connection to the internet.My operating system is Vista.In the network connection icon, it shows that I am connected to an unidentified network.Also, on the globe icon it shows that I am connected to the network by local access only. Furthermore, I seem to be missing tabs under the wireless network connection properties section, such as advanced and sharing. I seem to be sending packets but not receiving any.I tried all the basics at this point, including rebooting and powering the modem and router down.

I've heard that AR5007 has troubles connecting to NetGear, but it's strange that I haven't had this problem until now. Maybe I've never needed to connect to a NetGear router before, but regardless.Wireless, it connects to the router but not to the internet. I've tried to follow what other threads have to say about this, but it's not really making sense or it's just not working.

My family just gave me their old Mac desktop, I wiped it clean and then tried to connect to the internet at my house and it tells me I have invalid password for the wireless. I also tried to connect it directly via ethernet cable that works and it will not connect. I want to connect my Mac directly with ethernet. All the other computers with internet work in my house so I know its not the internet. I will post below my computer specs and internet specs which I got from my other windows PC. I've tried manually putting in the ISP and DNS and nothing works.

I got a new modem from the cable company Arris TG862G. This is a wireless modem and I had them set everything up on their end which is now after 2 hours with them on the phone working fine. The problem I'm having is somewhere in my computer is my guess and their guys didn't know which way was up so i gave up on them fixing my issue. So here I am. I have a custom built computer that is using a Gigabyte mobo and has been working fine with the on board Ethernet card before now. I used to have the desktop plugged into an Arris modem via a Belkin router and this set up worked fine. I also took the current modem and plugged it into the Belkin N600 router and then to my computer and to my complete bewilderment it worked fine. I wanted to get rid of the router so I could see if I could get faster download speeds (That initial issue being on speed tests I get 50mb/s and on actual downloads I would only get 5mb/s).
I got it to work (I have no idea how) for about 20 minuets. When I restarted the computer it stopped working. I am now back to square one which is the desktop not even recognizing that there is a cord plugged in. I know the cord is fine and the ports are fine as well that isn't the issue. My laptop connected just fine to the Ethernet cord with no issue. I have uninstalled the Belkin software to see if that was the issue and no change. Everything wireless works just fine, it is just this Ethernet connection that is FUBARed, and again ONLY with the desktop.I am running Windows 7 ultimate. I am about to QQ and just deal with the 5mb/s downlods because that's not terrible but I got greedy.I was messing with the Ethernet wire some and it started picking up the router but never tried to connect to the internet, I'm going to try other wires but I don't think that's the issue.
OK so another update ladies and gents: my desktop has been on for about 40 minuets now and it is connected to the modem. I have done nothing to it that would cause this and it just randomly happened. Short of never turning my computer off again which would be hell on my power bill what can I do to fix this problem? On speedtest.net I'm only getting 30.48 Mb/s and as I said earlier I should be getting around 50mb/s (which is what I get on on the wireless laptop). I just restarted it and it wouldn't connect to the modem again.

I built my first computer yesterday and everything went amazing. Unfortunately, I am having trouble simply connecting to the internet via wired, ethernet, cables. I can connect wirelessly but I need to connect wired as well. My IP when I am only using a wire starts as 169..I know this typically means there is a problem with my router, however, due to the fact that my laptop can use the wire router perfectly fine but my computer doesn't I am at a loss. I have downloaded the ethernet drivers but I don't know what to do.

I have hp g60 230us. The hard drive crashed so I installed a new one. Then I installed new vista ultimate 64 bit. I plugged into desktop's netgear router with ethernet and still wont connect to internet. When I go start/run/regedit in local services there is no wireless listing on bottom to enable. When I try to connect it says there is problem with Realtek Nic and only shows Broadband ppoev, something. T hought maybe I need drivers from hp to make everything work again but having trouble. Downloaded network to file then burned to dvd r on other laptop. Not sure how to load onto laptop in question (hpg60 230us). Also tried command prompt/ ipconfig.

I have just replaced a wbr-1310 with a dir-601. I can connect with an Ethernet cable, but not wireless. I have comcast cable with a Motorola surfboard modem. I was able to connect with the wbr-1310 with this setup.

Is it possible my Laptop Ethernet port is dead?After I got home today I noticed that the store that passed by caused a short power outage. I knew this because several electronic devices that rely on constant power were reset.Next to be noticed was that my computer had no connection to the internet, and my Ethernet port has a constant orange light on.I proceeded to perform a full network restart for my modem, router, and computer. This solved the internet connection to my router. My roommate was able to connect via an Ethernet cable to the internet on any of the routers ports, but I was still unable.However,I was able to connect to the wireless on my computer. How do I use an Actiontec 1000 modem (with wireless) and a TP-Link 4 port cable/DSL router and still have a wireless signal? When I connect the ethernet from the modem to the router, the router lights come on but the wireless signal goes down. Want 2 PC's wired (only one port on modem) and still want wirelss signal.

Last week I was using my laptop when suddenly it disconnected from the internet. I tried fixing it the next day, and even though there were full bars, it wouldn't connect to the network. I restarted my router multiple times and nothing. So, after a fit of anger and messing with different settings on my computer. For some reason, I was able to connect to the internet 2 or 3 times over the past week for about 10-15 minutes before it would disconnect me for the rest of the day.. So, I'm honestly so stumped. I thought maybe it might have just been my router, but I'm at my dad's house now and I'm not able to connect to his network, either. I might need to go ahead an order a new wireless adapter, but neither of us are that well with computers/networking. I'm hooked up via Ethernet cord which seems to be working fine, but my wireless is only able to read and not actually connect. (On occasion it will actually connect to the internet, but when it does I can't actually access the internet)I've tried uninstalling my wireless adapter, disabling/enabling it, a bunch of weird commands that I don't even know what they do (.. probably shouldn't have messed with those), stopping/restarting services, etc.

i can't connect to the wireless internet but can connect to internet through the ethernet cable. i am connected to network on wireless but no webpages work. other devices like iphone, and other laptos can connect to internet on wireless. i have tried turning the router on n off to restart it, and even resetting it back to factury settings but still doesn't connect wirelessly to my laptop.

in the past my laptop has been able to connect directly to the internet using an Cat5e cable, but recently when I have been trying to direct connect, I have been unable to, and not sure when the problem started because I always used WiFi and it worked great. I do a lot of messing around, not only with my network, but with my laptop settings also, so something might have gone bunko. I have done much troubleshooitng, such as trying to update drivers, checking to see if the hardware was disabled, etc...

Earlier my desktop was to b in d same place where the router was der. Everything worked fine. Now I decided to shift my desktop to another room. I have kept the router at the earlier place only. I have brought a 25m long new cat 5 cable. When I connected it to my desktop, the orange led on ethernet port do not light up and the desktop is unable to detect the ethernet cable and hence the internet connection. On the router, a light of ethernet keeps on blinking every 1 second. I was worried whether my ethernet port got fried. So i inserted another ethernet cable, but then the ethernet orange light came and the pc detedted the connection. Therefore I thought the cable might be faulty. Therefore I connected my laptop with that 25m cable. But my laptop detected it and showed the internet connection. But now when i again connect the cable to my desktop, there's no light and the pc does not detect it. However, if i connect the 25m cable to my desktop then during boot the ethernet light on router is stable just as when it is normally connected to the internet. But when i go into windows it starts blinking every 1 second.

I recently moved into the dorms of my college and tried connecting my laptop to the internet using an ethernet cable. It worked, so I decided to try and play Xbox Live through the use of the ethernet cable and it did not work. After messing around with it and failing to get it to work for my Xbox 360, the ethernet decided to quit working for my computer as well. (To try and get my Xbox to connect to the internet with the ethernet cord, I tried network bridging by bridging the ethernet connection with the wireless connection, then unplugging the ethernet cable from the wall so as to connect it from my laptop to Xbox 360. This didn't work so I just deleted the bridge. This is when the problem started happening as the local connection stopped appearing.) I am able to plug it in and see that in the Network and Sharing Center, however, it shows up as being unplugged. After a couple seconds though, it disappears. If I click on it fast enough, it shows up with an Error Code 45 after looking at the properties. I have tried typing in ipconnfig /all and the ethernet connection doesn't show up there either.

I have a desktop computer for gaming and a laptop, but when I was assembling my desktop I didn't put in a wireless card thing so i've been able to get internet since by connecting my desktop and laptop (which has wireless) with an Ethernet cable and everything has been fine.Apart from a few days ago when it all stopped working, my laptop works fine as does my desktop but the desktop and laptop can't seem to connect anymore.

i have a DSL connection which is established using a dial-up (PPPoE) modem. I recently bought a wifi router, and I found that when I plug the cable to one of the LAN ports and the laptop, it seems as if it wasn't connected at all (not detected on either side).I tried to format the system running on XP and I installed windows 7 but the problem persists.The only thing I can think of right now is using a crossover cable, but I somehow doubt that it should work since I tried plugging the router to my netbook (using a normal cable) and it worked like a charm. But maybe the fact that it's a quite old laptop (PB MV51-101) has something to do?
