HP Laptop (vista) / Can't Connect To Internet Without Ethernet Cable

I have an HP laptop (vista) and I can connect to the internet when I use the ethernet cable but when I don't have the ethernet in, it just says that it is an unidentified network and an only connect locally. I have run an ipconfig/all and this is what I get:

I have a Dell Inspiron N4010, recently it has not been connecting to any wireless network, not at work, school or home! I troubleshoot the problems and it states that I have plug in Ethernet i don't know why it will not connect without it, I bought this laptop only 5 months ago!

I have a Dell Laptop Latitude 610 and I have not been able to connect to the Internet via the ethernet cable port for some four months now. I've tried downloading software from Dell's web site, I bought (and returned) and USB to Ethernet cable, only to find out that it was a model ahead of what this machine needs.I've asked local repair place (Microcenter) what it might be, but they'll only tell me after I pay $70 just to open it up.Another repair guy said that it is probably the motherboard and it wasn't worth fixing. Yesterday my main computer lost internet connectivity after avast! ran an antivirus scan and removed several viruses. I spent much of the day yesterday researching the possible problems and did not come up with any solutions.My computer's OS is vista, and the network status says it is, "Connected to identifying". If there is any additional information you will need, I will gladly provide.

error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start. The router is Cisco Linksys E2000. No problems before and not with apple products going online, this hp is about 7 years old. Seemed to suddenly stop accessing internet.

My girlfriend has just had Virgin Media installed in her house. She has a vista laptop which she is trying to connect wirelessly to the network. She can connect to the network (she says) but cannot use the internet.She has made sure she is typing in the security key correctly.I got her to try different encryption methods and she says these did not work.Tried resetting the network stack.Tried flushing DNS.Made sure Obtain IP and DNS automatically are checked.Tried setting up a wireless connection manually.There may be other things i've suggested but cant remember at the moment as well.Connecting via an ethernet cable works so its definitely a wireless problem. Her phone works using the wireless network ok, its just the laptop.

I have just arrived at a friends house to stay for a while and my laptop does not connect to the internet properly through the wireless yet works perfectly when plugged into the router directly through ethernet cable. it is not the actual router's wireless that is broken because there are three other laptops that connect and work just fine.I have done several virus scans using AVG and Spybot Search and Destroy and other than incredibar nothing has been found so i dont think it is a virus. I thought it might have been the 6to4 adapter so i disabled to no avail.The problem is not connecting to the network as that works fine and every now and again i can get 10 minutes of internet use before it stops working. most of the time still saying i am connected to the internet for an extra 5 minutes then saying i have a local only connection[CODE]

I have been trying to connect to the internet with my new adsl2+ wireless internet with dodo, i rang them and they say its my toshiba laptop windows vista that is the problem, it says that i can connect to the internet and from their end it confirms it however when i open a web browser it always comes up with page unavailable, i can connect no issues to the net via the modem connection cable but i need to connect wirelessly asap?

I do not have access to internet (I'm on some unsecured internet from around here now, very slow). When I start the internetdiagnostics from windows, he says it's the modem or the connection from laptop, router, modem to internet. However, the lights indicating internet and dsl on the modem are brightly burning and the router shows nothing abnormal too.
I have a WPA2-PSK security, the modem is Zyxel. Also, the ethernetcable portal on my laptop is broken, so I can't do anything non-wireless. My phone has the same problem with this internet, it can get a connection, but no internet.

I am trying to bridge internet connection received from my laptop to my desktop with an ethernet cable. Both machines are running win 7.When I try to connect to my local area connection on the desktop most of the time it fails and I'm left with 'Unidentified network' and no internet connection. I recently got Fios installed in my home. I believe there is a box the size of a power box in the back room for the Internet.All my other devices (MAC, iPod, Blueray Player) are able to recieve instant and unbelieveable internet connection except for my Dell. I have a Studio XPS Dell computer with windows 7. I plugged in the ethernet cable in the back of my computer and into the "Fios Box" but i didn't recieve any internet. Then i bought a wireless adapter and I do get internet but it disconnects me like every 5 minutes.

So saturday, my friend and i build my computer. Everything worked just fine that day. Sunday i had no problem connecting to the internet. Sunday is also the day i set up a password for my admin account.
Now when i came back from work monday, i tried to log in to my computer. As it appears, i forgot my password... (same i use on everything, so i must have messed up inputting my pass)
So i did a windows reset, since i had no CD or USB to reset my pass. I tried installing windows, and it appears 'this copy of windows is not genuine'. I thought, okay, no prob, as long as i have all options.

I am in a College dorm and the only access to internet we have is by connecting an Ethernet cable to the connection in the wall and straight to the computer. I can connect to the internet using my neighbors wireless router but when I try to use my ethernet cable it connects me to "network 16" but the internet doesnt work. Ive tried different cables and different wall ports and that didnt work. It has been working before but I disconnected it to go somewhere and when I came back I had this problem. Ive been using an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet for a while now, it was working fine up to yesterday where I left my desktop open for a few hours and came back to find that I have no Internet connection.
I used my laptop to test the cable out and it works fine, the wireless works fine too. There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the modem since I still have Internet on the PS3. I used a different cable to test the modem again with my laptop and I had internet access. The desktop is still connected to the modem but it only gives me a network connection with no Internet.
I tried restarting the modem but it still wouldnt work and I also tried to disable then enable the connection.
Im using Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller with the latest driver.

i can't connect to the wireless internet but can connect to internet through the ethernet cable. i am connected to network on wireless but no webpages work. other devices like iphone, and other laptos can connect to internet on wireless. i have tried turning the router on n off to restart it, and even resetting it back to factury settings but still doesn't connect wirelessly to my laptop.

Now that the wireless on my Dell XPS 15 Z is fine, I've run into some problems with internet connectivity with Ethernet cable. Since the beginning, I wasn't able to connect to it through cable. When I connect my laptop with the cable, it says that it's connected, and that it has an internet connection. However, I can't get on it... My browsers don't have internet, and other programs can't connect either. (that while it says that it's connected to internet, quite strange)... I was thinking of some security adjustment that might block the internet connection or something, I don't know.
Oh, something that I should mention... I was able to get internet through Ethernet cable when there was a firewall... But when there's no security to the network... It isn't possible to have internet and it gives the situation described above. (any other laptop can connect with the network, so there must be some adjustment issue...)

This is a new Acer Aspire 5733Z laptop. A backup was not made. I don't think it was known that there was a restore feature. As such, when the 'auntie' who got the computer began using it, she wound up disabling the entire system with a virus.The entire machine was wiped out. Windows 7 Ultimate was installed, along with Office 2007, Adobe Reader, and the Acer updater (which now indicates 0 updates needed). Auntie does not have wireless internet.
The local area connection reads "Network Cable Unplugged", even though there is an Ethernet cable connected to it and modem in the correct locations. Roadrunner indicates that it's an Acer problem. Acer indicates it's a Windows problem. Both calls cost me 2 hours of my life that I cannot get back. Would I just be better off telling my Auntie to call ISP and have them install a wireless option? I know the wireless works fine, because I am on the machine at home, and there isn't a single issue.
Aside, when I click on the LAC button, I get a box that reads, "This connection uses the following items:", with a list of 'stuff'. If I click on the install button, it asks me the network feature I want installed - client, service, or protocol. I'm not sure which one, and none of them will install anyway, because it's asking for a disc that the laptop box didn't have, since we were supposed to backup the machine to begin with.

I'm running Windows Vista on a Dell Laptop. Normally I just use wireless wherever I am but now I need to hard wire to the computer. It was initially working for a few minutes but then the connection dropped. Now whenever I plug the cable in, it shows it as being connected but comes up as local only so I can't browse or do anything.
I have tried:
-Restarting the machine
-Ensuring that windows was picking up the IP addresses automatically
-Checking the connection on another computer, works fine.
-Disabling the IpV6
-Disabling/Enabling the LAN connection in the Manage network connections setup
-Uninstalling, re installing the driver for the ethernet adapter
-System Restore
I've also tried in safe mode with networking and have disabled any firewalls that were running.Again, most of the time I never use the hard wired connection, but whenever I have, it hasn't had any problems until now.It always comes up as being connected, but says local only.

When I set auto-detect IP on router, it says that I have Static IP. In CMD I can find out all the information about the connection and the licence is usually for one day (automatically renewing). I've also tried to clone MAC address, nothing happened.
