I have an Acer 5741Z laptop that I recently got out of the shop (had jack replaced). Now I'm having issues connecting to the internet at my home. The computer detects my Belkin router/network, but when I click on Connect I keep getting the message "unable to connect".
I have my laptop. I need to use my broadband connection at my home. Also I need to use my laptop with wifi at my office. We do not have any dhcp servr at office. What I am doing now is changing ip configuration at office every day manually.
My laptop (Lenovo g560) runs windows 7 Home ed. About 3 months ago my parents changed the wifi password and so my laptop was unable to connect to our home internet, and I never bothered to fix it. It's been 3 months and now when I need to connect, it won't. The network appears in the list of detected networks, i correctly typed in the new requirements of the SSID, and when i press 'connect' it instantly pops up with 'Windows was unable to connect to XXXXXXX'. The modem is from Netgear. I've tried switching the modem off and on, the wireless activation swith on my laptop off and on, the Fn+F5 for wireless and bluetooth off and on, reinstalled drivers etc.I know its not a problem with my modem as wifi works for other mobile devices (like my iphone, other laptops etc), and my laptop has no problem connecting to the uni wifi network. There only seems to be a problem with connecting my laptop to the home network. Perhaps i've tried fiddling around with the 'properties' of the network too much and I've accidentally changed some settings i was not supposed to? how to restore the wireless settings of this network 'back to default' or in the state it was when i was able to connect.
My Wifi network has a wpa2 password that is a random string of characters and numbers and yet last month a rogue IP Address kept popping up on my DNS list. It has to be coming from my neighbor who's bedroom is about 15 feet away from my router. So unless someone is sitting out on my front lawn to do this then it must be him.I've been looking for software that will notify me when a connection my router is attempted and kudos if it also asks my permission first would be great. There are wifi packet sniffers out there like Cain&Abel, Airsnort, that sort of thing but I am not quite savvy enough nor do I want to turn this into a complicated hobby but just need a basic warningin case something gets past my passwords again
I'm having a bit of a trouble with my eMachines netbook M250. I was going to contact their customer support, but for some reason their services kept telling me that "That serial number is not in our database".I have 3 laptops and a desktop PC. Two of my laptops are connected through wireless and my Desktop PC through a cable. Now this small isnt finding the wireless network my other computer are connected to. It has found all other wireless networks, tons of them (neighbors, city wifi, etc), but just cant find my home wifi.I have reinstalled windows XP and reinstalled the wireless drivers. Also checked that they're the newest out there.
My laptop suddenly stops detecting my home wifi network, when all other laptops n gadgets in the house is able to. I am able to see other available wifi networks but not mine when it is just 2 mtrs away.
The wireless Internet at home is not working on my laptop anymore. It's working fine on my mobile as well as with other wireless networks at school for example. No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. If I'm lucky at the right time I can open a website but then it's gone again.
My laptop can no longer connect to my home network. It used to connect fine, but I was having problems with my graphics card as every time I went on Youtube it would crash. As a result, I sent it into ASUS (it is an ASUS K52J Series) and got the motherboard and the hard drive replaced. After this, my laptop seemed to be working great. It connected to a variety of networks, including 3 home networks, and 2 public networks. However, it cannot connect to the network in my apartment.
I know this network works and is connectable as my roommate's laptop works perfectly fine. So I know it is not a problem with my laptop since it connects to other networks, and I know it is not the network since other laptops connect to it. I've tried resetting my adapter, I've tried turning off the firewall. Also, I've tried the trouble shooting option numerous times after trying a variety of things that usually fix the connectivity, but it always says that the problem cannot be detected.
It's starting to be really frustrating, especially since I'm in university and sharing a laptop when both my roommate and I need to do work is not convenient.
I just got a new Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5357. It's running Windows 8. I can't get it to connect to my home wifi--it just says "Can't connect to this network" and nothing else. I did unplug and plug back in the router (does that count as resetting?) and it didn't change anything. I just went to the library and it connected to that wifi without a problem. While there I uninstalled all Norton security products and installed AVG Free 2013. Still not working.

I have a windows xp home edition laptop that i cant connect to the internet with. i have went to geek squad and my internet works fine there but once i get home, nothing. i have also contacted my cable company to no avail, they ended up giving me microsoft's phone number. i had read a previous forum posted similiar to this and followed several steps and came across a yellow flag on serial.
I need to use the company laptop to connect to home broadband. However, when it is connected, it shows "no or limited connectivity".All the other laptops/computer at home can connect without any problem. When I try to use my iPhone as hotspot. My company laptop can connect and browse websites (but extremely slow because is 3g speed).
As the title says I was using the internet one evening, turned it off my laptop which is an Acer 5332, the next day turn it on only to find I am disconnected from the home router and can't connect to it. My Ipad is able to connect to it without a problemI tried connecting to a friends router without a problem. I uninstalled the network adapter and restarted my pc only to find that it couldn't successfully install upon restart however I'm still able to connect to other routers except the one I want

I can't connect connect to my home wireless network. It says I am connected but none of my browsers will load anything. I can connect to other wireless networks that i have access to.I can connect if i plug into the router directly
my newer laptop that I have only had for a few months will not by any means connect to my router at home. However, it does connect to pretty much any other router wherever we go. And there kicker is, the desktop I am on now, my phone, and pretty much everything else, WILL connect to my router (both n and g wireless devices). So, here are the details: My laptop is an HP Pavilion G Series, running Windows 7. My router is an N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700). The computer I am currently using (and do the router config on) is running Windows 7 as well. The router has both a g and n setup (WPA2-PSK [AES] pass). Passwords for both n and g are the same, so there is never any confusion.
I am having troubles connecting my laptop to my wireless router. Currently, I am hardwired to my internet (totally defeating the purpose of having a laptop...). My computer sees the network, but when I try to connect it, it says "UNABLE TO CONNECT", yet I can connect to other networks... All the other computers in the house along with game consoles connected just fine once I put in our password
I've tried restarting my Kindle. I've tried resetting my router. I've reset my Kindle. I can use it to connect to open wi-fi networks. My computer (win7) and phone (htc desire) can connect to the wi-fi network. MAC filtering is disabled. Router is a Buffalo WCR-GN
I have a Toshiba portage and I am unable to connect to my wireless network at home. All my roommates can and two days ago I could! I haven't changed anything and none of my roommates or landlord has done anything. When I try to "diagnose" the problem I get the notice that there is a problem with the adapter. I have tried disabling everything and restarting it. The wireless switch is on. The security info is all correct and we have tried the restarting of the router.
I have my computer with me and I can not get internet access using my friends wifi at her home. when I attempt to join their network I enter the password and it says I am connected and also says unidentified network. I go anywhere else and can use my computer with all other wifi networks.
lost wifi access thru local (home) connection. can connect thru public network. my grandma during last visit accidentally changed the network to her laptop. Have tried to reset netgear wnr2000v1 with pin in back. turned off and waited and turned back on again--no success. have tried to set up new network--see the network listed but no internet access available. have modem/router from comcast. My laptop is Acer Aspire 5733 with Lan Broadcom and wireless lan atheros.
I have several different computers that connect to my home wifi connection through my router and they are either Windows Vista or Windows XP. This is the only Windows 7 I think or maybe not, I have a new little mini that has Windows 7 I think, however, I am not able to get this computer to connect. I have unplugged the modem, unplugged the router, restarted my computer, checked my wifi connection and no matter what I do it will not connect.
i've just a D-Link DIR-600 router last month and i successfully installed it and its working great. Until 2 to days ago, my brother told me that he can't conlnect to the wi-fi. I said that its working just fine and told him to just reset his phone. And then, my sister also told me that she can't connect too. I checked their devices like iPhone 4S and iTouch and it says "Unable to join the network....... Also phones of my friends can't connect also. It was just working fine. I haven't changed anything on the router's configuration. I already reset the router, unplug then plug it and its still not working. The router is connected to my laptop and I can still browse the internet. Its the wireless connection that is not.

I am trying to connect my Nook tablet to my home wireless router for Wi-Fi access. I have a ubee router. I previously used the router for another e-reader.
