My laptop suddenly stops detecting my home wifi network, when all other laptops n gadgets in the house is able to. I am able to see other available wifi networks but not mine when it is just 2 mtrs away.

Rebooted both router and laptop several times. Other devices in house connects to the router but the laptop shows no connection present.

I had no problems initially but the problems arise when sometimes my internet connection goes off.. after that when i switch on the internet connection then, all my device are back on track except for my laptop(HP Pavillion DV6000)
This problem gets solved automatically only sometimes when i restart my laptop. otherwise it does'nt detect my own wifi SSID.. it detects my neighbour'snetwork but not mine

I've been having this problem with my laptop's wifi for a while now and it's been getting a little out of hand lately that I can't deal with it anymore. I asked some friends and they seem to have the same problem too but not nearly as often as I do. Every so often, my laptop's wifi just stops working so I turn it off and then turn it back on and it starts working again. My friend says it happens very rarely to him but for me just today it happened 2 times within 10 minutes

I was going to contact their customer support, but for some reason their services kept telling me that "That serial number is not in our database".I have 3 laptops and a desktop PC. Two of my laptops are connected through wireless and my Desktop PC through a cable. Now this small isnt finding the wireless network my other computer are connected to. It has found all other wireless networks, tons of them (neighbors, city wifi, etc), but just cant find my home wifi.I have reinstalled windows XP and reinstalled the wireless drivers. About 3 months ago my parents changed the wifi password and so my laptop was unable to connect to our home internet, and I never bothered to fix it. It's been 3 months and now when I need to connect, it won't. The network appears in the list of detected networks, i correctly typed in the new requirements of the SSID, and when i press 'connect' it instantly pops up with 'Windows was unable to connect to XXXXXXX'. The modem is from Netgear. I've tried switching the modem off and on, the wireless activation swith on my laptop off and on, the Fn+F5 for wireless and bluetooth off and on, reinstalled drivers etc.I know its not a problem with my modem as wifi works for other mobile devices (like my iphone, other laptops etc), and my laptop has no problem connecting to the uni wifi network. There only seems to be a problem with connecting my laptop to the home network. Perhaps i've tried fiddling around with the 'properties' of the network too much and I've accidentally changed some settings i was not supposed to? how to restore the wireless settings of this network 'back to default' or in the state it was when i was able to connect.

No matter what browser I use I usually dont get to any website. Most of the time it says access: local only, or local and internet, or limited connectivity. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Compaq nc6220 that I just got up and running after an extended stint as a paperweight.It had previously worked great in terms of connecting to the internet via wireless.Now nothing.It let's me go into Wireless Network Setup Wizard and offers to let me set up new networks, etc...But as far as I can tell, it isn't detecting any networks (though they are all around me and detected on other computers) and giving me the option to log in.There is no "Device Manager" option that I can find on this computer, which some forum posts have suggested to other people with similar problems.

Other laptops connect via wireless to the hub without any problems so it must be a problem with my wireless card. Ive tried turning off my hub, as well as system restore and uninstalling my wireless device and letting my laptop reinstall it but it hasn't changed anything. my device manager says that my wireless card is working fine.Even i reinstalled the drivers.

To see an updated list, click 'Refresh network list.'" I don't have a wireless switch. I have a wireless enable icon and it says Enabled. Other computers in the house have no problem detecting and connecting.Wireless is enabled, it happens no matter how close or far from the router. Have updated drivers to no effect.Occasionally, the network pops up when I re-start the laptop. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a new notebook that has windows ultimate, and whenever i turn it on it knocks off all the other PCS on the network and the printer, including the one the router is wired to. I can only get it to pick up all 4 devices when i go into the Lynksys program and click change password. But then the program locks up and i have to shut it off manually.
I already reset the router four times trying to get it to pick up all the PCs but it never works. I'm ready to toss the router and get something else. Are there any settings I can change or reset before this router becomes garbage fodder?
I have a Asus n55s. The wireless acts very funky. It sometimes disconnects and stops working. Sometimes, it will stop detecting any nearby wireless networks altogether. Then I have to enable and disable the wireless functionality until it starts seeing nearby wireless networks.

Thing is though, it's only my computer that ever has issues with my internet connection. My sisters laptop has never had an issue with out internet. Yet my laptop is able to connect to the neighbors internet fine. The solution to my problem almost all of the time is to simply reboot my computer, which solves the problem(most of the time). But i'm getting so sick of having to do it. The other times when a reboot doesn't work I have to manually reset the internet. As i'm typing this I'm on my neighbors internet. my sister is connected fine to our internet but my laptop simply won't work with it so i'll have to reset it when i'm finished this Some useful information might be that this problem only started happening ever since my computer got wiped.I've tried updating the drivers but apparently they're up to date.

But when I try to connect (want to connect 2 more laptops via wireless) either one of the two laptops, the whole network stops working immediately. I have tried updating the drivers (they are up to date), removing the password from the router, gave the laptops static IPs (and all other pcs as well) with no results. As soon as one of the 2 laptops joins the network through wireless, it stops working for everybody. However if I connect them through the cable they work fine. One of the laptops uses win vista 64 bit, the other one win 7 64 bit. We have cisco RangePlus Wireless Router wrt110.

I also have a VOIP phone connected to the router call "AllVoi". Now, whenever I use this phone, all connections on WiFi go down as I am using it. While, when I am using any ethernet connections dirctly from the router, it works fine. It becomes a large problem when you are watching a video or something from a laptop WiFi connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a DIR-655 (F/W v. 2.00NA) about 6 months ago. It worked well until a couple of weeks ago. Then it started to stop broadcasting WIFI signal without apparent reason. When it did so, I could still connect to it and internet with wired connection, but the WIFI scan does not show my SSID. If I reboot it (either through the admin interface, or just disconnect and reconnect the power), I would be able to reconnect to WIFI, but then WIFI will stop working again in about 8-10 hours. It has to be coming from my neighbor who's bedroom is about 15 feet away from my router.
