i have an RTA1025W router. When i plug a network cable into it nothing happens. When i power it down with the cable still plugged in when it boots the LAN1 led flashes rapidly then stops? Then no connection to it via the PC?
View 3 RepliesI just got a new notebook that has windows ultimate, and whenever i turn it on it knocks off all the other PCS on the network and the printer, including the one the router is wired to. I can only get it to pick up all 4 devices when i go into the Lynksys program and click change password. But then the program locks up and i have to shut it off manually.
I already reset the router four times trying to get it to pick up all the PCs but it never works. I'm ready to toss the router and get something else. Are there any settings I can change or reset before this router becomes garbage fodder?
My computer runs bit torrent almost all the time, sometimes when I start Firefox the home page google never loads and neither do any other web pages yet bit torrent is still working as if nothing has changed. If I start a download in Firefox come back to the pc a few hours later Google doesn't load but the Firefox download still continues.What causes this is it DNS ?

The problem is when I enable 3389 port in Port Triggering my internet speed drops to 2,5 Mb/s. When I disable port triggering, speed become normal again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidentally pressed the front panel button labeled "Cisco Systems" on my WRT54GL wireless router. The button turned to a flashing white which I understand means that it entered SecureEasySetup mode. I then power cycled the router and the front panel button turned back to solid orange. However, now the "WLAN" lamp flashes a lot more often than before even when there are no wireless clients connected. It doesn't seem to be affecting connectivity or performance of my Ethernet connected devices or wireless connected devices. I re-entered my SSID and security key. That didn't curtail the increased flashing of the WLAN lamp. I also tried pressing the front panel button for 5 seconds. This only cleared my wireless settings.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi use HG530, and i am connected to internet by lan1 out of 4,,, in last time my modem restart itself,,when modem work, first 2 lights (power and ADSL) are on and 3rd (internet) is flashing, when modem resets, first light is on second ligt is flashing and 3rd light is off,,, i tried to change cables and everything, but when i move cable from Lan1 to Lan2 or Lan3 i cant connect it says unidentified connection,,so how can i repair that,, and also technical support told me that my electric power is low and it cause modem to reset, is there any way to prevent that from happening if thats true?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought a DIR-655 for my parents after their old router died in a planned power outage. It's a rev. B1 model running the 2.00 firmware. It worked fine initially for a day or two with great wireless coverage, even in the previously low-signal spots in the house.Then the problems started. The router now has trouble loading any website. What you get is instead a page returned from the router saying something along the lines of "network unreachable, please check you internet settings" (I will go there today or tomorrow so I'll update the post with the specific error). Refreshing the page a few times sometimes makes it load, but extremely slow and then the same thing happens again a few moments later. The same thing happens on both wifi and through the router's LAN ports. If I connect a computer directly to the modem it works just fine, as it has always done before getting this router.I have disable QoS, NAT endpoint filtering and the firewall (SPI). I have also set the WAN port speed to 100Mbit/s in the router, to match what the modem is set to (also had issues with the default setting).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having some trouble understanding extended control lists. I am trying to prevent a certain host on LAN1 from accessing a server on LAN2, while still allowing the host access to the rest of LAN2.This is what I thought the command should be:
access-list 100 deny ip 175.16.1.2 0.0.0.0 175.17.2.2 0.0.0.0
My understanding was that:
Green = source & mask
Red = destination & mask
However this seems to stop all my other hosts on LAN1 from pinging the server also.
We have lms 3.2 that we are facing a problem with it. When we start the server the EDS-GCF log file size start to increasing rapidly until it consumes up all free space and it only stops when we stop the Daemon Manager service. I tried to do the pds how command but I get no output from it. I included the portion of the EDS and EDS-GCF log files. i searched and didn't find the cause of this error.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I have changed my ISP and switched from an ADSL (4Mbps) connection to a faster fiber connection (100Mbps). I own an WAG120N which after firmware 1.00.12 (currently installed on the device is 1.00.16) should allow LAN1 to be used as WLAN. This is true and I can use it to connect to the new provider.
However the speed when using LAN1 as WLAN on WAG120N is very slow: download 20Mbps and upload 10Mbps. The LED on LAN1 is orange instead of green as before. I have tested the ISP connection with an WRT160NL and the speeds are much faster: download/upload 87Mbps
I have an older rev a DIR-655 that has served me well. Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed.The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have approximately 150 1142 LWAPP's deployed in our facility. Recently we started getting complaints about speed issues (90% are using G 10% N). Upon investigating we found that the speeds are fluctuating rapidly. Everything from 54Mbps down to 1Mbps and back up again. I've confirmed that this will happen while standing next to an AP (and confirming connectivity to it), however I cannot find anything wrong or anything that has changed with our configuration. We are a large facility and it is happening all over the campus, so I'm fairly certain it isn't any type of 'normal' interference.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Time Warner Cable business class service with no static IP, with a wireless modem which is plugged to a CAT5 distribution panel. On the jacks (2 other rooms on the house) I have a Linksys E3000 and a Linksys Valet router for signal boost and gadgets usage (TV, cameras, etc).The main router (TWC) has it's own external IP which TWC assigns to me and internally distributes via DHCP the range 192.168.0.x. With that said:
- The E3000 has a 192.168.0.6 IP -- this is fixed setup on the TWC router (ubee brand) by MAC address
- The Valet has a 192.168.0.7 IP -- this is fixed setup on the TWC router (ubee brand) by MAC address
- The main router has the 192.168.0.1 as the gateway and web-interface
Whenever I connect something to the E3000, it is distributing the 192.168.1.x range and the valet 192.168.2.x range.That works perfectly for my home based business until I decided to use more stuff on the network such as a IP printer, IP cameras, etc.
- The IP cameras are connected to the E3000 due to signal strength and I have manually assigned them the 192.168.1.15 and 192.168.1.16 IPs and ports 9001 and 9002.
- The printer is connected to the E3000 and I have manually assigned the IP 192.168.1.30.
Issue 1: Port forwarding On the main router (TWC - UBEE) I have tried to setup a port forwarding by informing the Local IP as 192.168.0.6 (E3000 IP), Internal Port 0, Public Interface IP (0.0.0.0), Ext Start Port 9001, Ext End Port 9001, Protocol - Both, Enabled Yes. On the E3000 I did the same config (screen shot attached e3000.png).This is not working properly. I can't get into the camera.
Issue 2: Printer/ The printer is only accessible if I connect to the E3000 (because it is on the 192.168.1.x network)
Issue 3: How to configure all the devices on the same subnet? If I want everyone to be on the 192.168.0.x network, how to configure properly the E3000 and the Valet? I have tried to force them into the same network but it would not work properly. It would not get an IP from the UBEE router (main).
We recently installed 15 of these switches, and we're having a few odd, random network issues. But before I enumerate those issues, I have a simple question: are the connection lights on these switches *supposed* to blink rapidly? Or are they supposed to blink *normally*?On all other switches I've ever seen / worked on / worked around, when a cable is plugged into a port, the connection lights blink upon network activity. sometimes they blink a little faster when there's lots of activity, but mostly it's an almost lazy, random kind of blinking. When you look at a switch and every light on every port that's connected is blinking very rapidly, your first instinct is "No *wonder* nothing works around here!" and you find the port that's chattering and unplug it...all the blinkies go back to normal.Well, on the 15 switches we've installed, every light that's on blinks rapidly, as if there's an uncontrolled storm going on. Is that the "new norm"? Did I miss the memo, and there is nothing to be worried about here? Or are the rapidly blinking lights telling me there is, indeed, a problem?

I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on.
Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second.
4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on).
Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS!
All the lights are green.

I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
I have 3 1142N AP's. I plugged them in one at a time here at my desk and they work fine. When I take them upstairs and install them only one of them works. I can move the working one to the other locations and it still works. The LED flashes continously green on the other two.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have a working home network with 4 pcs connected to the network. 3 via ethernet and 1 via wireless. Everything is working fine. Then we have 2 more laptops which are connecting via wireless. When either of those 2 laptops joins the network, the whole network stops working for a minute or 2. After that it starts working again for everybody (including those 2 laptops). However its super annoying when it does that all the time. (The laptop goes into sleep mode, when u turn it back on again the internet(and the whole network) stops working for awhile again..).

I want to get the modem and router out of my computer room and in the basement where the cable enters the house. I want to do this to clean up the computer room wiring a bit and to run line drops to different rooms in the house where the internet will be utilized.Currently there are two PC's, a laptop, a tablet, sometimes a phone, and an XBOX using the internet. I want to get my printer back up and running on the network but thats another story. Only one PC is currently hardwired. I would like to run two cables into the room with the PC and XBOX that are currently using wireless, at least two into the computer room for the PC and network printer, and one or two into the living room for the blue ray player and possibly an internet tv.

I went to what I thought was the product page for the N600 and found the latest version of the firmware and flashed to it. The only thing it does now when I plug it in is 2 slow flashes of the green light and then nothing. I tried holding down the WPS button while plugging it in and I get the light to stay green but it doesn't respond to 192.168.2.1.\

The System LED constantly flashes, after probably 40-50 seconds or so it constantly lights for a second, afterwards all the lights on the ethernet ports light up for a second and the process starts all over again! Have noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. But since yesterday when it boots up it flashes green, then solid green, then after about 10 seconds the green LED turns off, however the LAP is still working fine, Why is that? If I put my eyeball up close to the LED I see dim red inside the LED plastic cover.

It will stay blue on average for up to five minutes (this is not exact times) but on average it happens every five minutes. This is a constant issue. I've contacted my ISP (Comcast) and they said all looks fine on their end. My signals to them are just fine.
Sure, I can bypass the router all together, but my modem will NOT allow me to see any logs to know the issue is happening on their end. I'm feeling a bit confident its a router issue though.
I've reset both Modem and Router. I've made sure my connection was set to Dynamic. My router/security log does not offer up anything at the times this happens, but I do see several listings for "sending OFFER to a local IP of one of our laptops, but this does not match the times the router net light goes amber.
Yes, when the amber light is flashing on the globe/internet icon, I can still access my router page, but it does say DISCONNECTED. It will eventually go back to connected in a few minutes. This router is not very old and I've always praised Belkin routers, so crossing fingers my router is okay, times are tough for so many of us.

The web server is working great; I can get to my web pages from outside of my home by going to http://MyIpAddress/Anyway, the problem is with the Windows Media Player plugin I'm using. I want to embed 6GB MPEG-2 videos into my web pages. I have some videos on my PC and I want to be able to watch them remotely by connecting into my web page. It works fine when I'm at home; other PCs can connect and play the videos no problem. The problem is when I'm at work. When I'm at work, I go to my web page (via my IP address in a web browser) and the Media Player plugin says "Connecting" for a minute, then it says Ready, but the video will not play. I tried using a smaller, AVI file (680 MB) instead to see if the problem was streaming such a large file, but the video still would not play.Do I need to foward more ports on my router so that Windows Media Player can connect back and get the information it needs?
