I have 3 1142N AP's. I plugged them in one at a time here at my desk and they work fine. When I take them upstairs and install them only one of them works. I can move the working one to the other locations and it still works. The LED flashes continously green on the other two.
I can not fix the problem with the router. I power it up, all is GREEN, then it blinks RED, then GREEN, and finally RED. The router is terminally not connected to the Internet. How can I check if the router is BAD. I have done all the troubleshooting, examples:
connected ethernet directly to computer - no problems attempted to fix problems via belkin software changed channels on modem updated firmware etc, etc
I have two LAP1041 with WLC2504 everything works fine. But since yesterday when it boots up it flashes green, then solid green, then after about 10 seconds the green LED turns off, however the LAP is still working fine, Why is that? If I put my eyeball up close to the LED I see dim red inside the LED plastic cover.
I was having problems setting up dd-wrt so I wanted to flash back to the Belkin firmware and try again. I went to what I thought was the product page for the N600 and found the latest version of the firmware and flashed to it. The only thing it does now when I plug it in is 2 slow flashes of the green light and then nothing. I tried holding down the WPS button while plugging it in and I get the light to stay green but it doesn't respond to 192.168.2.1.\
I'm having a strange issue with an 1142 AP. I have a 5508 WLC at my corporate HQ and have AP's in many locations, connected by MPLS WAN. I have one site where the 1142 is blinking green and doesn't associate with the WLC. I have tried a different switch port with the AP (didn't work) and I know that the switch port is good because I have a 1252 that works just fine at this remote location. The really weird part is that the AP is blinking green, but the switch port shows that it is not connected and the green port light on the 3560 switch is not lit. I have verified wiring in the closet, but unfortunately the 1142 AP is hanging 40ft high in a shop and I don't have access to it.Is it possible that there's a bad rj-45 termination that is allowing PoE to the AP, but no data?
After the upgrade of the WLC 5508 to version 7.4 the 1142 access-points LED blinking rapidly cycling through blue, green, and red. I found the following information to this behavior: "Access point location command invoked"
The configuration didn't change. How can I switch this function?
I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on. Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second. 4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on). Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS! All the lights are green.
Dir-655 Hardware A1/a2 Firmware 1.35NA
I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
I accidentally pressed the front panel button labeled "Cisco Systems" on my WRT54GL wireless router. The button turned to a flashing white which I understand means that it entered SecureEasySetup mode. I then power cycled the router and the front panel button turned back to solid orange. However, now the "WLAN" lamp flashes a lot more often than before even when there are no wireless clients connected. It doesn't seem to be affecting connectivity or performance of my Ethernet connected devices or wireless connected devices. I re-entered my SSID and security key. That didn't curtail the increased flashing of the WLAN lamp. I also tried pressing the front panel button for 5 seconds. This only cleared my wireless settings.
i have an hp laptop that has a wireless button on the top right hand of the typing area. It has turned red before and all i had to do was push the button and it would turn gree. It has gone red again and when i push the button it stays red.

Just had some more 3500i installed, but 2 of these seem to be working, but there is no green LED when no connection, and when you conneect there is no blue led. The LEDs to change when rebooting the AP, just neve seen this before, is this a fault?
My problem is that the switch all of the sudden doesn't boot up anymore. The System LED constantly flashes, after probably 40-50 seconds or so it constantly lights for a second, afterwards all the lights on the ethernet ports light up for a second and the process starts all over again! The console messages:

Recently we had a situation where our users were unplugging one of our un-mounted 1252 LAPs. They would do this so they could borrow the wire to direct connect any one of their devices not realizing they were disconnecting a wireless access point. After discovering that the AP was unplugged once again, our admin plugged the AP back to the network but noticed that it no longer would connect to the controller. We can no longer console into the AP but can console into all other APs we have. All 3 lights are now green. Radio and Ethernet are solid and Status is blinking. I found the Cisco doc explaining the meaning of the front panel lights but have not found this particular configuration. What these lights mean and why not being able to use the console port?
Have noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. BTW is does not matter if wireless is active. What do the different colors mean ?? Blue = Connected White = Yellow =
Belkin F5D8236-4 v1 The Internet flashes amber and goes back to solid blue. It will stay blue on average for up to five minutes (this is not exact times) but on average it happens every five minutes. This is a constant issue. I've contacted my ISP (Comcast) and they said all looks fine on their end. My signals to them are just fine.
Sure, I can bypass the router all together, but my modem will NOT allow me to see any logs to know the issue is happening on their end. I'm feeling a bit confident its a router issue though.
I've reset both Modem and Router. I've made sure my connection was set to Dynamic. My router/security log does not offer up anything at the times this happens, but I do see several listings for "sending OFFER to a local IP of one of our laptops, but this does not match the times the router net light goes amber.
Yes, when the amber light is flashing on the globe/internet icon, I can still access my router page, but it does say DISCONNECTED. It will eventually go back to connected in a few minutes. This router is not very old and I've always praised Belkin routers, so crossing fingers my router is okay, times are tough for so many of us.
I have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green. The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).The SSID broadcast is enabled. On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.
Recently I have installed and configurated an AP 1260, it has already IP, SSID, and ping to the router, but after install the antenna I open the web configuration and see that it has 0 clients connected and the light is always green, indicated as only is configurated with nobody connected.
Tha radio setting is up, 2,4 Ghz and 5 Ghz any issue with the antenna? or i need to configure anything else?
i have an RTA1025W router. When i plug a network cable into it nothing happens. When i power it down with the cable still plugged in when it boots the LAN1 led flashes rapidly then stops? Then no connection to it via the PC?
I'm installing the first out of 10 Aironet AP's with an inline injector. The lights on the Aironet and alernating blue, green, red. I know the error code is for DHCP, but when I plug it in I see the AP on my DHCP server and it does pull an IP address. I can ping the ip address, but I cannot access it through my browser.
I have tried deleting the entry out of the DHCP and power it back on again. I have also tried another unit with the same results. I don't have a RJ-45 to serial cable.
Belkin n wireless router model number F5D8236 v1! my modem is showing an internet connection but my router "modem" light is flashing orange and my internet light doesn't even come on. we are not sure but we believe this became a problem last night after my daughter connected her new lap top to the wireless connection.
I recently upgraded my ADSL to a 1Mbps line and I got a new Fritz box(7390) with it and i bought a linksys ae3500 wireless router. I am using Bit comet to download my torrents and my listen port stays at a yellow light. I previously had only the Fritz box 7170 and my listen port was always green.
I have a WRT300N and the power light is dim and all 4 ports are solid green along with the internet light being solid green.. Nothing else is plugged in.. Just the power.. I have tried to hard reset and nothing happens.
i have a problem using my usb to serial cable connection, i can connect to one router on my work, but i can't connect to AP 1142, (i have tested also con AP 1231).i have a laptop running windows 7 64 bits, before i use a win xp 32 bits, and i didn't have problems.i am using putty, and have installed tera term 4.74 but the same.connection details, 9600, 8, 1, N, N.
I just converted AP 1142 to LAP using the image "c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar".
The WLC is a 5500 with 2 NIC : one on 192.168.0/24, one on a specific vlan 10.20/16 The main management interface is on 192.168/24 but we defined as management the interface on the 10.20/16 network.
For the access points, we use ports on a native VLAN on 10.20/16 with other available VLANS which are used for the wlan networks
We have 1152 APs which work fine on this config but that needed to be registered on the 192.168/24 network, then we moved them in their VLAN 10/20/16 and they work fine.
We also have 1142 APs which have been upgraded to LAP. These AP do not work with our architecture. They register correctly on the 192.168/24 network, but do not give access to the wlan VLANs. If they are moved in the 10.20/16 network, they don't register to the WLC (message : Timed out while waiting for ECHO repsonse from the AP). The AP do not get an IP.
is there a restriction with VALNs on these AP ? or is something false ?
I need to convert some 1142 APs to lightweight mode. They will connect to controllers running 7.3.101.0. I noticed there's two options of Lightweight IOS code available c1140-k9w8-tar.152-2.JA.tar and c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JA.tar. Whats the difference between the two versions of code?
When we take a look at the internal antennas on the 1142 AP, we notice the 5ghz pointed all the same way, but for the 2.4ghz we can see each offset by 45/120 degrees. It was my understanding that all antennas are omnidirectionals on the 1142, why are those 2.4ghz antennas not all pointed the same way? onfiguration advantage and that each antenna is indeed omnicadirectional? Example, if I shut just one antenna off, do I lose a sector (120degree)?
I recently purchased another 1142 AP to expand out our current wireless infrastructure, my question is, what exactly needs to be done for this to work so that users can roam freely and auto-connect to the closet AP with the best connection without getting disconnected?
I have set all the settings the exact same on the new AP to match the existing AP. (How to save the configs into a file would be great, I am not sure how to do that)... But anyhow, before I launch it, I would like to be sure I am correct so I do not bring down the existing network. Of course, the only difference between the 2 are the IP addresses. AP1 is 192.168.2.2 and AP2 is 192.168.2.3
