View 3 RepliesHave noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. BTW is does not matter if wireless is active. What do the different colors mean ?? Blue = Connected White = Yellow =
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe internet connection light is blue, i am assuming this means the device thinks that it is connected. However wired or wireless I can't hit any web pages. When I use the internal tools neither can the device ping any address.
I am using:
Firmware 2.00NA
DSL modem ATT-Yahoo-SBC (Speedstream 4100 using DHCP)
I am planning to upgrade the firmware to 2.01NA and give that a shot.
I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on.
Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second.
4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on).
Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS!
All the lights are green.
Dir-655
Hardware A1/a2
Firmware 1.35NA
I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
Belkin n wireless router model number F5D8236 v1! my modem is showing an internet connection but my router "modem" light is flashing orange and my internet light doesn't even come on. we are not sure but we believe this became a problem last night after my daughter connected her new lap top to the wireless connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently (Jan 2011) bought a new DLink DIR-600 Router for my home use. It was working excellent for last two months and suddenly last Monday all hell broke loose. I have a WiMax connect and have a POE box. I plugged in the cable from POE box into my router and it used to work fine. But now, the globe indicator on the router box is not turning green. It remains yellow. When I remove the POE cable from router and plug it directly to my laptop, it works fine.

2= suddenly it shut down today yellow power lite , i cycled and nothing i reset then got a request to do a firmware update! I shut it down for a hour cycled and after a few minutes green power lite all my settings were still in place?I would think a reset would wipe this out.Its only 2 years old and would be surprised if its dieing.
I purchased this router, and in reading reviews several people complained how bright the blue "dome light" is. They also pointed out that in the manual there is a way to turn it off. I would like to turn it off, and I have read the manual virtually "cover to cover" (I am after all reading it on my computer), but I did not find any information about this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavillon dv6000 laptop, tried connecting to my wireless network this morning but no luck. It will connect fine when using Ethernet cable. Whether the switch is pushed to on or off the light stays orange, when it is connected it used to turn blue. I've included a prtscrn of my device manager...

View 14 Replies View Relatedwhen I connect my DIR-655 to the Motorola SB6141 cable modem I notice that the link speed LED on the cable modem never glows blue indicating a gigabit connection, it only glows amber indicating a lower negotiated speed. I am using a Cat6 cable between the two devices and have also tried a Cat5e cable.
When I try and force the WAN port speed to 1000Mpbs in the router interface the cable modem link speed will not light at all with no connectivity. Only resetting to Auto WAN port speed restores functionality albeit at the lower negotiated speed setting.
I'm running the DIR-655 rev B1 at 2.03NA firmware level.
I did connect the modem directly to my PC that uses an Intel Gigabit ethernet card and still had the lower connection indication (Amber) so it seems that the modem might be faulty.
I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an older rev a DIR-655 that has served me well. Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed. The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a Dlink dir 615 for some time now and always had a few issues, but nothing a reboot of the router couldn't solve. This time the problem is persisting, though. The wireless signal keeps blinking and on my laptop it says No internet connection. I've rebooted the router, restored the router, rebooted the modem, and nothing seems to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past year or so, 5-6 times a day my router's green internet light will turn red, needing a reset... 99% of its usage is through wired connections and this is the only router in my home.

In the past everything was working fine (had same computer connected wireless + wire) never had this disconnection. Now, I have a laptop connected using wireless & desktop wired but this disconnection is becoming so irritating. It is not only that I lose the internet connection, I lose the DSL like (as if the modem is turned off then on) and all my files over the LAN are either lost during transmission or something else.
I recently switched from a DSL ISP (Earthlink, Zyxel modem configured as a bridge, pppoE connect) to a cable ISP (Comcast, Arris cable modem, dhcp connect). Basically PC --> DIR615-->Cable modem-->Internets. With the old DSL the Internet activity LED (green, looks triangular) on the DIR615 blinked only when internet activity occurred. With the new Comcast connection it blinks non-stop about 5 times a second! Even if the PC is turned off it blinks. It stops blinking if I disconnect the ethernet cable between router and modem. The connection itself is fine, but if the DIR615 is doing something it should not be doing it might slow the connection down a bit, (or burn something out prematurely?)FYI, the Arris cable modem does not seem to be a router. It takes a cable connection from outside and provides a single ethernet cable and 2 (voice) telephone cables to the house.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBelkin F5D8236-4 v1 The Internet flashes amber and goes back to solid blue. It will stay blue on average for up to five minutes (this is not exact times) but on average it happens every five minutes. This is a constant issue. I've contacted my ISP (Comcast) and they said all looks fine on their end. My signals to them are just fine.
Sure, I can bypass the router all together, but my modem will NOT allow me to see any logs to know the issue is happening on their end. I'm feeling a bit confident its a router issue though.
I've reset both Modem and Router. I've made sure my connection was set to Dynamic. My router/security log does not offer up anything at the times this happens, but I do see several listings for "sending OFFER to a local IP of one of our laptops, but this does not match the times the router net light goes amber.
Yes, when the amber light is flashing on the globe/internet icon, I can still access my router page, but it does say DISCONNECTED. It will eventually go back to connected in a few minutes. This router is not very old and I've always praised Belkin routers, so crossing fingers my router is okay, times are tough for so many of us.

I had Purchased a brand new TP-Link WifI Modem Router TD-W8961ND with S/N : 12CB5200872 from [URL] and it got delivered few days back. When I am trying to connect it to the internet the modem is not getting connected nor configured. The Power button light, ADSL Light and internet light are continuously blinking and nothing is getting steady. The modem is appearing to be a damaged piece of modem and it is very unfortunate that we have got a modem from flipkart in an unserviceable condition. It came with a warranty of 03 years and I wanted a replacement so that I can use the modem for connecting internet.

Is there any way to change web interface / firmware from orange version to blue version? Blue version has more options and better "System log" presentation page.
My Desktop (Win 7) and laptop (Acer Aspire 4830T) were talking both ways (after I fixed a Teredo Tunnel problem!) but have now degraded to the point where I cannot setup a Homegroup. The main issue is that although my wireless internet works when I am home (D-Link DIR-615 router), as soon as I leave, I get the dreaded Yellow exclamation on both Virgin Trains and my client's Unsecured wifi (with password protection). These did use to work in July. Can't detect an event when started to go wrong, though could blame Windows Update! Did try System Restore but these keep failing. Using Kaspersky.

I have a 4 computer MS LAN connected to a router that is connected to a ISP disk outside the house and all computers have internet access. I now want a redundant backup on connecting to the Internet. I have a Wild Blue Internet Disk outside the house that we used to use.Can I install another LAN card and just have that connected to Wild Blue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internet at completely random of times drops and can take anywhere from 2 minutes to reconnect or 20. This may happen once a day, this may happen 10+ times a day. Totally different all the time. Basically what happens is it I get the yellow triangle on my taskbar where the connection should be saying limited connectivity, sometimes I get a complete red X going through it saying there is no connection. It always reconnects at some point though.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI think my computer is infected with malware right now. It is heating up quickly and I'm seeing ads in text in websites that don't do that (cbc, reddit, wikipedia).I had this issue a couple of months ago but Spybot seemed to fix the issue.Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search and it said no threats were found. Not too longer after I start noticing the ads again so I know there is a problem. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner, malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy.
My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything.I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details). I primarily used Firefox, but I just switched to Googlechrome this week (well after the problems began).
I am getting a small yellow icon in my wireless settings that suggests that there is no internet connectivity even when I do have the internet. It comes when i disable and enable the wireless adapter or when its left idle. My ipconfig and DNS settings are fine.

Where internet connection strength is shown in main screen there is a yellow triangle with a black exclamation Mark in it covering the signal strength icon. I have tried contacting my Internet provider who could not fix. They have sent a new modem but still same issue on pc. I have several games consoles and also have an iPad and iPhone and Internet is working on these however my neighbour tried to use her laptop in my house and has the same issue.
