For the past year or so, 5-6 times a day my router's green internet light will turn red, needing a reset... 99% of its usage is through wired connections and this is the only router in my home.

Did a bad dd-wrt flash and now all it does:
-no power light
-solid green lights: WAN-L1-L2-L3-L4
tried to go to recovery mode (power on while holding reset switch).....does not work.my search on the internet revealed, that after bad flash, power light still comes on, maybe as orange, maybe blinking, or just blinks once
Is there any way to turn off the front green LED on the DCS-930L or do I just cover it with a piece of opaque tape?

The light is solid green and not red like other posts.Tried the recovery procedure, but the browser won't find my camera. Changed computer IP and everything else that was told to be done. Nothing works!! I also can't find any posts relaled to my problem all over the internet.

(or something like that).Basically we pinned the problem down to it not having the strength to keep several connections running through it. So we upgraded to a Billion 7800n and found it is much more stable and much faster.However it has been having a similar problem to our previous router.
Occasionally the internet light drops from green to orange, and we can't load any more pages until it has gone back to green.Here is a picture of what it looks like when in that status.But the weird thing is the connection bars on the windows toolbar at the bottom of the screen still show full strength.As shown here.Now I thought it might be because it was sharing a power board with other connections going through it,so I transferred it to a smaller two-plug one instead.
I have a WRT300N and the power light is dim and all 4 ports are solid green along with the internet light being solid green.. Nothing else is plugged in.. Just the power.. I have tried to hard reset and nothing happens.

The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either. I've tried a lot of options to get it back online but I failed doing so.The green ACT LED won't light up anymore so my laptop cannot find the WAP anymore. I recently switched my router from an older Linksys WRT 54GS to an E3000. The WRT 54GS was working perfectly fine, but I needed to upgrade to a 802.11n router to use with some of my devices at home. I unplugged all the cables from the WRT54GS, and connected all the cables into the E3000 - in the exact same sockets and order they were on the old router. When powering on, all the lights eventually turned on (Power, Internet and Ports 1 to 4), except the wifi is still off. I tried running the installation CD, but it says it cannot find the network. I tried a reset (back button) as well as 30-30-30 reset, but no matter what I do, the wifi indicator still doesn't turn on. When switching back to the old router, it has no problem broadcasting a wifi signal again. Is there anything else I should try, either on my PC settings or the E3000 router itself?

I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!

The internet connection light is blue, i am assuming this means the device thinks that it is connected. However wired or wireless I can't hit any web pages. When I use the internal tools neither can the device ping any address.

Today I finally upgraded my ISP to cable (from a slower DLS connection) to get reasonable speed/price All is working very well but unlike my old DSL modem the internet status light on the DIR-655 blinks very rapidly all the time instead of when traffic is passed.The new modem is a Motorola SB6141,I am running the latest firmware 1.35NA I went through a complete re-setup to see if that would calm the light but no dice there. (the settings arrived at were basically the same for the old Sprint modem) ,Is there something I am missing or is it time to retire the old DIR-655 for something more current.

In the past everything was working fine (had same computer connected wireless + wire) never had this disconnection. Now, I have a laptop connected using wireless & desktop wired but this disconnection is becoming so irritating. It is not only that I lose the internet connection, I lose the DSL like (as if the modem is turned off then on) and all my files over the LAN are either lost during transmission or something else.
Have noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a DSL ISP (Earthlink, Zyxel modem configured as a bridge, pppoE connect) to a cable ISP (Comcast, Arris cable modem, dhcp connect). Basically PC --> DIR615-->Cable modem-->Internets. With the old DSL the Internet activity LED (green, looks triangular) on the DIR615 blinked only when internet activity occurred. With the new Comcast connection it blinks non-stop about 5 times a second! Even if the PC is turned off it blinks. It stops blinking if I disconnect the ethernet cable between router and modem. The connection itself is fine, but if the DIR615 is doing something it should not be doing it might slow the connection down a bit, (or burn something out prematurely?)FYI, the Arris cable modem does not seem to be a router. It takes a cable connection from outside and provides a single ethernet cable and 2 (voice) telephone cables to the house.

I am having problems with my TL-MR3420 router, it disconnects WIFI all the time. This occur several times a day and is very annoying.
I have quite recently upgraded to the latest firmware but the problem seem not to have been resolved. It also seem that it is mostly the WIFI service that is the problem. The usage of wired routing is working even when the WIFI is disabled.

Is it possible to turn off the web server facing the internet. When accessing my external ip address I am presented with the logon banner requesting user name and password together with the TP-Link name and model numbers. I would much prefer if I could switch this access and banner off.

I have very low speed with router.First test without router - using cable directly to PC (DLINK DGS-3210 Managed SW - > My PC), here is result : Second test, using WR1043ND router (DLINK DGS-3210 Managed SW - > WR1043ND Router -> My PC), here is result : First of all, i thought that maybe WAN port is 100Mbit mode, but after i checked it on SW - port is still in 1Gig Mode (from router to PC, it is also 1Gig)Also downloading speed have same picture...Without router i get around 55MB/s, with router max that i saw is ~14MB/s....

I had Purchased a brand new TP-Link WifI Modem Router TD-W8961ND with S/N : 12CB5200872 from [URL] and it got delivered few days back. When I am trying to connect it to the internet the modem is not getting connected nor configured. The Power button light, ADSL Light and internet light are continuously blinking and nothing is getting steady. The modem is appearing to be a damaged piece of modem and it is very unfortunate that we have got a modem from flipkart in an unserviceable condition. It came with a warranty of 03 years and I wanted a replacement so that I can use the modem for connecting internet.
