I have a HP Pavillon dv6000 laptop, tried connecting to my wireless network this morning but no luck. It will connect fine when using Ethernet cable. Whether the switch is pushed to on or off the light stays orange, when it is connected it used to turn blue. I've included a prtscrn of my device manager...

I had no problems initially but the problems arise when sometimes my internet connection goes off.. after that when i switch on the internet connection then, all my device are back on track except for my laptop(HP Pavillion DV6000)
This problem gets solved automatically only sometimes when i restart my laptop. otherwise it does'nt detect my own wifi SSID.. it detects my neighbour'snetwork but not mine
My WiFi card went out in my HP Pavillion dv6000 and I tried installing an external adapter. Actually I've tried 2 different ones and both try and try to connect but can't. The signal is strong but connectivity is weak. I think the problem is that when my brother installed the first one (belkin) he enabled security on my internet connection. He lives in another town and he can't remember what the security code that he put in is. I never had any problem connecting when my internal wifi was working and the connection wasn't secured. how to disable security and make it like it used to be so that I can see if this will let my external card connect? I uninstalled the Belkin and installed a netgear and that wouldn't connect either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched my router from an older Linksys WRT 54GS to an E3000. The WRT 54GS was working perfectly fine, but I needed to upgrade to a 802.11n router to use with some of my devices at home. I unplugged all the cables from the WRT54GS, and connected all the cables into the E3000 - in the exact same sockets and order they were on the old router. When powering on, all the lights eventually turned on (Power, Internet and Ports 1 to 4), except the wifi is still off. I tried running the installation CD, but it says it cannot find the network. I tried a reset (back button) as well as 30-30-30 reset, but no matter what I do, the wifi indicator still doesn't turn on. When switching back to the old router, it has no problem broadcasting a wifi signal again. Is there anything else I should try, either on my PC settings or the E3000 router itself?

View 1 Replies View Related I have an issue with my router that disconnects from the internet in variuos situation when my laptop (an hp pavillion dv6) try to connect. It happen everytime when the laptop go in standby. When i turn it on from standby, the router disconnects from the net and the only way to have access to internet again is turn off and then on the router. It happens also when i turn on the laptop if there is yet some other device connected, like my desktop or my iphone or whatever.
Sometimes i have the same problem with my brand new tablet (a sony s) in a slightly different way. I navigate then, after a random amount of time, the router disconnects in the same way and the only way to have back connection is turn off and then on the router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP dv6000 that has an atheros ar5007 b/g card built in, windows vista home premium, the system was recently restored to start fresh for a new user (my daughter).The ethernet port on the side works fine to get online, the wifi is on and does find connections out there including our att uverse, it will connect to our library's and our community rooms free wifi, and to a neighbors unsecured connection as well, but no matter what I do I can't get it to connect to OUR att uverse!I do know the passkey and its verified with all our other laptops, iphones, ps3 etc, i tried updating the wifi cards drivers from the hp site, i turned off the firewall, re-tried the passkey, its not erroring on that just won't connect.There is this diagnose thing that does nothing, I have also reset the att uverse and restarted the laptop all same results.Then I thought maybe windows updates were needed, so plugged in via ethernet cord did those restarted, still same thing (won't connect to our att) but strangely still does connect to other wifi so i am pretty sure its not a bad card inside the machine or anything.

Having HP Pavillion DV6000 laptop and the cd/dvd drive worked fine up until they got a virus on the computer and then went to Walmart and purchased an AV program and installed and ran the AV program. I think the program was Norton. I have completely scanned and removed everything I can find on the pc with numerous programs, but the cd/dvd drive still does not work.
Here is what the drive does...when a disc is put in the drive light comes on and you can hear and feel the drive spinning (I have tried 3 different drives in the computer and they all do the same thing). The pc will not boot from any disc...they light comes up at boot up, but will not boot. Putting a disc in the drive in Windows and trying to access the disc you get something like drive not ready, insert a disc. All connections are solid. The drive shows up in Windows Explorer as well.

In my lab I have a Guest Wireless network setup and fully functional. Here is a brief diagram:
Client -> AP -> LAN switch and WLC-Foreign -> Core router -> DMZ switch and WLC-Anchor -> Edge Router -> Internet
I have NME for credential management on the LAN as well.The WLC-Foreign is a 5508.In my DMZ, I have two networks - 1 for normal DMZ management and 1 for Guest Wireless.
I now have to add a Blue Coat web proxy appliance into the DMZ and have Guest Wireless traffic pass through it. I have tried multiple scenarios including connecting the WLC-Anchor to the Blue Coat directly and making the Blue Coat the gateway for my Guest Wireless network. Any good design for the DMZ networks and/or routing to enable the Guest Wireless traffic to go to the Blue Coat and then out to the Internet?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm installing the first out of 10 Aironet AP's with an inline injector. The lights on the Aironet and alernating blue, green, red. I know the error code is for DHCP, but when I plug it in I see the AP on my DHCP server and it does pull an IP address. I can ping the ip address, but I cannot access it through my browser.
I have tried deleting the entry out of the DHCP and power it back on again. I have also tried another unit with the same results. I don't have a RJ-45 to serial cable.
I recently acquired a WMP600N-EU that is running under W7 x64 with the latest Linksys available drivers for download, which unlike the default MS ones, don't enable the Virtual Wifi adapter.Now with this new adapter, the wireless icon starts with the blue circle spinning, and the at the point the other adapter was already connected, it displays the "orange sun" (not connected, connections available) and stays there dead for some 10 seconds. At this point, my router's SSID is already listed. Only after that time it will start to successfully auto-connect to the pre-configured network, whereas windows has already finished loading or the browser launched unable to check mail.This is obviously not a functional fault on the adapter. If I didn't had the previous adapter to compare, I might find it normal. Btw, I've cleaned every previously stored wireless connections.
