I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with windows xp. A couple of days ago the computer couldn't find any wireless connections. I've been into devmgmt.msc and looked, but I don't see any network card. In the folder Network Connections there are three alternatives, and none are wireless...I've tried to download the drivers for chipset, modem and network, but I still can't find anything.
View 1 RepliesI have a Notebook HP Pavillion DV6 3113sa with Windows 7 64-bit My Broadcom Bluetooth and Wireless Combo Card is not being detected. On device manager> Network adapters I cannot see my the wireless adapter. Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller is in the device manager though. Also I can access internet with an ethernt cable and my phone and other computer can detect my wireless router. The wireless light is also continually orange and will not change. So neither bluetooth or wireless is working. I have down loaded the 2 Broadcom drivers from the HP website but neither fix the problem. However the bluetooth driver says something like 'Driver failed to install because no bluetooth device was found'.

I had no problems initially but the problems arise when sometimes my internet connection goes off.. after that when i switch on the internet connection then, all my device are back on track except for my laptop(HP Pavillion DV6000)
This problem gets solved automatically only sometimes when i restart my laptop. otherwise it does'nt detect my own wifi SSID.. it detects my neighbour'snetwork but not mine
I have a HP Pavillon dv6000 laptop, tried connecting to my wireless network this morning but no luck. It will connect fine when using Ethernet cable. Whether the switch is pushed to on or off the light stays orange, when it is connected it used to turn blue. I've included a prtscrn of my device manager...
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi card went out in my HP Pavillion dv6000 and I tried installing an external adapter. Actually I've tried 2 different ones and both try and try to connect but can't. The signal is strong but connectivity is weak. I think the problem is that when my brother installed the first one (belkin) he enabled security on my internet connection. He lives in another town and he can't remember what the security code that he put in is. I never had any problem connecting when my internal wifi was working and the connection wasn't secured. how to disable security and make it like it used to be so that I can see if this will let my external card connect? I uninstalled the Belkin and installed a netgear and that wouldn't connect either.

Sometime later i noticed that the LAN card (Atheros A8151 PCI-E Ethernet Controller) was not working i went into the adapter settings in network control in the control panel and there was no adapter. i checked the device manager and there was no option called NETWORK ADAPTERS.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWe a Q77 based Jetway JNF9E motherboard, and when we added a TP-Link PCIe network card it was not detected in device manager in windows XP. We tried a Dynamode card with a different chipset and that was also not detected. We then tried a PCIe Firewire card, and that was fine, indicating that the slot itself was OK.We then tried installing Windows 7-64, and that also failed to see either card. We updated the BIOS to the latest version, which had no effect. We then tried another PC with the same motherboard and that also showed the same problem. A USB network adaptor does work, but is not an ideal solution due to space contraints.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wireless network card is not detected by the system and wont show up in device manager. the green light on the back of the card is still blinking, so it is getting power through the mobo. Wireless network card was working perfectly before swapping out my video card for a new 7850 and swapping out my RAM modules. The drivers are Up to date. I'm running windows 7 and the wireless network card is an atheros AR5005GS.
I don't understand why installing new RAM and a new video card would affect this?? I didn't touch that card, and have double checked it is still seated properly.
I have no other way currently to connect this computer to the Internet.
I have win7 on an HP Pavilion dv7. I came to my friend's house before, and his WiFi didn't come up as an option to connect to. I unplugged and plugged back in the router, and that worked and I was able to connect with no problem. But today, that didn't fix the problem. I have restarted my computer and the router several times, I have deleted the corresponding wireless profile under "manage wireless networks" list, I have turned off my McAfee firewall to see if that was blocking the connection, I have tried connecting manually through the network and sharing center, I have troubleshooted my wireless adapters (Atheros AR5009 802.11 a/g/n and Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter), I have turned off and turned back on my HP wireless assistant, I have updated the dirvers for the two adapters, I have installed the latest windows updates, I have done all I can think of. And it's not the router, because my cell phone can connect, as well as the other computers in the house, without any problems.

Had a look inside my HP Pavilion p6685l recently and found there wasn't any wifi card which was odd because it's been working fine for months.Device Manager says theres a 802.11n Wireless Lan Card in there but I traced the wires from the ariel to a chip on the board (MSI 2A9C according to Belarc ). Property sheet says it's a Ralink Card and so does the vendor id ( 1814 ) but the device id (3092) belongs to an Intel I20 1.5 Raid Controller which is where I got lost. I didn't know Raid Controllers did wifi.

I moved the parts I'd installed in it over the years to the new build, plus the wireless card that came with the Pavillion. Strangely, with the same drivers and setup, the card refuses to find any WiFi signals - not the one it was connected to prior to the move nor the other networks around the area. Changing the drivers, uninstalling the device, rebooting - nothing will work. The symptoms are exactly the same as when I moved the card to another slot on the Pavillion.

I successfully changed my graphics card (i think...) i can run all the games that i couldnt run before but.. I am having trouble connecting to the internet after changing the card. it seems like my computer isnt recognizing the inernet network. i know the network is fine because im writing this w/ my itouch which is connected to the network wifi. When i right click the red X icon w/ two computers and click "connect to a network" , it says "windows cannot find any networks" and i have no network options to choose from. Is it because i uninstalled drivers related to the network connection..?
My Dell Inspiron 1525's hard drive died recently. I bought a new hard drive onine because my warranty expired. I installed the hard drive and a Windows Vista Premium operating system. I previously had Windows Vista Basic.
I tried to install all of my drivers, but neither by ethernet connection or wireless are able to connect. I ran the Intel PROset Wireless diagnostics and the hardware portions fails. The error says driver version does not support Intel PROSet/ Wireless.
The wireless card does not show up in the device manager under network adapters. I still am missing a driver for the network controller but do not know where to fnd it.
When I plug an ethernet cable into the computer directly it says no connectivity and will not light up green. why it will not connect to the internet.
I am attempting to add an additional ethernet port on a Cisco 2620 router using a NM-2FE2W card, however the card is not being detected. (Code 10)" in driver details page).Also it says that device is 82577LC (it used to be 82577LM).

I have an HP dv6000 that has an atheros ar5007 b/g card built in, windows vista home premium, the system was recently restored to start fresh for a new user (my daughter).The ethernet port on the side works fine to get online, the wifi is on and does find connections out there including our att uverse, it will connect to our library's and our community rooms free wifi, and to a neighbors unsecured connection as well, but no matter what I do I can't get it to connect to OUR att uverse!I do know the passkey and its verified with all our other laptops, iphones, ps3 etc, i tried updating the wifi cards drivers from the hp site, i turned off the firewall, re-tried the passkey, its not erroring on that just won't connect.There is this diagnose thing that does nothing, I have also reset the att uverse and restarted the laptop all same results.Then I thought maybe windows updates were needed, so plugged in via ethernet cord did those restarted, still same thing (won't connect to our att) but strangely still does connect to other wifi so i am pretty sure its not a bad card inside the machine or anything.

I have many other wireless devices that connect fine (xbox 360, 2 iPod touchs, and another laptop). It will connect fine at my in-laws and my buddy's house. I don't know if this means anything but I set up the network on the HP. It worked fine hooked up throu an Ethernet cord. I know it's not the modem or router. In my network center it will identify the network and show it's connected but in the manage wireless networks window it says it's connected to an unidentified network. The router is a belkin.
