Hp Pavilion Dv7 Connecting To Network But Not Internet?

I have a hp pavilion dv7. Its running windows vista it will connect to my wireless network but not the Internet. I have many other wireless devices that connect fine (xbox 360, 2 iPod touchs, and another laptop). It will connect fine at my in-laws and my buddy's house. I don't know if this means anything but I set up the network on the HP. It worked fine hooked up throu an Ethernet cord. I know it's not the modem or router. In my network center it will identify the network and show it's connected but in the manage wireless networks window it says it's connected to an unidentified network. The router is a belkin.

My roommate has a HP pavilion that she has been trying to connect to our internet, and while it seems to be connecting to the network, it wont connect to the internet.Its running Vista, and I tried all the repairs that it prompted me to try, but could not resolve the issue.I know it isn't a internet problem, because the desktop is hardwired and we have two xbox's that connect wireless with no problems.Im not sure what info I should have included in this thread, but its my first post and wasn't sure what I needed to put.

I moved and got a new nice centurylink wireless system. Everything runs great, have the Alienware wireless with Belkin adapter. I have an old HP Pavilion that was shelved due to slow issues. Now I'd like another computer to be a stereo for streaming radio in the house. I got the HP running, installed the Belkin and was online! No problems. So I went ahead and re-formatted the HP to restore it to factory setting and clean it off. Re-installed the Belkin. It says I'm connected, has the 2 little monitors showing on bottom right bar, but one blinks lit/not lit the other is mostly dark, but does blink too. I bought a HP Pavilion adv-6091nr 6 weeks ago for college. As such, I am definitely in the market for reliable wifi! I try to connect to the wireless network at my home, and either of the 2 wifi networks at my university, and I can't make either one work reliably. I have been on the online chat support with HP at least 5 times and the problem is still unresolved.

I am using an HP Pavilion dm4 laptop, and I have been having issues with the internet. The internet on my computer constantly is going down even though my network is not having any issues. It goes down every hour or so and I have to press the wireless button once to turn it off and once to turn it back on in order for my computer to regain internet access. This just began happening in the last few days.

I have an HP Pavilion TX-1000 Entertainment PC that is really frustrating me. It will not connect to my wireless router. I have had this laptop for at least 3 years and it connects to any other wireless connection I've ever tried ( at my sons with Cox, every airport, overseas, and with my previous Qwest routers ). Since I moved and now have a Qwest PK5000Z router this laptop will not connect. The error message I get is " The network security key is incorrect ", but it's not of course. All other laptops I've used here connect successfully, Dell, Mac, Toshiba, etc.

about 7 pcs on the network all using Windows 7 32bit. Switch - Router all wired
They are all connected to the network fine but one of them gets cut off from the internet sometimes and starts back up randomly. I changed to different ports on the switch same issue I didnt have the time to fully check it but Im gonna go back tomorrow my best guess is that its the wire but any other possibilities that may cause this I would like to know before I go if at all possible.

I was wondering if it is at all possible to take full advantage of WOL if my network card supports it but my bios don't. I am considering buying a network card to that supports WOL. Would this work even if my bios don't have an option to WOL? I am running Windows 7 64-but on an HP Pavilion p6270z. I have a HP Pavilion G56-105SA. Here is my problem whenever I connect my laptop to the internet via wifi, I get random disconnects, and they are completely random. It can be minutes or hours without a disconnect, it only happens when I am on wifi and only with this laptop. I thought it might be a modem problem (my modem is also my router), but got a new modem and still the same thing. I have reformatted my laptop back to factory settings because it worked fine for a long time, still the same thing. I have also updated my drivers and changed the channel to one no one else was on. What could be causing this?

I reinstalled windows vista on my HP pavilion dv4-1430us, after the fresh installation, the wireless internt would not work at all, and even when trying to plug in an ethernet cord it still would not connect to the internet. I can log into MSN and Steam is still connected, etc, but neither IE nor Firefox work. The internet still works in safe mode with networking, and Windows can't find a problem at all. I've run Avast and Spybot in safe and normal mode and they can't find anything. Reset the browsers and my IP address. Friend downloaded Winsockfixer or something and that didn't work either. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall Windows? My computer is an HP Pavilion with Windows 7.

My usb devices- whenever I plug my Belkin usb internet adapter in I get an error noise (3 beeps) and the device does not power on. I tried another one (Cisco) from a different PC and got the same error. Tried this on all the ports and updated the drivers. All other USB devices work fine, tethering my phone to get internet for now. Had been using the device without problems for months until getting the error. The error started occurring when I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Using Windows 7 x64 on an HP Pavilion.

I have a new HP Pavilion g7 running Windows 7. I have a desktop running Windows XP wired to a TEW432BRP router. SEveral wireless devices run on the wireless (Ipod, playstation, Acer netbook) When I turn on the switch for wireless connectivitiy on the HP notebook (still not connected to the Internet) all my other computers and device disconnect from the Internet. The Internet cycles on and off until I switch the wireless switch off and everything reconnects. If I try to connect the notebook to the network it will eventually after 15-20 tries connect. The Internet connection at that point becomes stable and everything is connected. If the notebook sleeps, everything disconnects again.I have tried changing both the dynamic and static IP address. I own a HP pavilion dv7 laptop and I'm having trouble connecting to my home connection. My laptop connects to other connections but my desktop PC and gaming console are connecting to the "broken" internet just fine so I'm assuming it's the laptop.
I've tried unplugging the modem/router for minutes, uninstalling/reinstalling the network adapter device ((It now keeps coming up as "unidentified network" instead of the original name for the connection; Should I be concerned??)), and even just stopped using the laptop for a few days to see if somehow that would fix it.
I've troubleshot it and it says theres a problem with my access point/router but I don't see how that's the problem if everything else is working fine. I've spent 3 hours looking into solutions to this problem and I've come accross that the router may not be giving the laptop an IP to connect too but I'm still not sure how to fix this issue or if it's another issue all together.

I have a HP Pavilion dv9930us laptop. I recently upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate from Visata Home Premium 64-bit. Everything worked fine until I decided that I didn't want WinAmp that I previously installed. I uninstalled WinAmp. However, when I rebooted the latop, it went into an infinte loop after startup (that is, it would load all the applicatons, but whenever it connected to the internet, it would go into an infinite loop). I also uninstalled HP Quick Launch Buttons. I thought the laptop was going into an infinite loop because it was looking for these programs since they may not have been properly uninstalled. I went ahead an reinstalled these programs but after 30 seconds after startup, when trying to connect to the wirless network, it would freeze (that is only the mouse would work but everything else on the desktop was unresponsive). I edited msconfig several times, at one point, went through each program to see which ones were responsible for the laptop freeze. I found two programs, the SSDP Discovery and the CNG Isolation Key that were causing the laptop to freeze up after startup. I later found out that these two programs, especially the CNG Isolation Key were important to connect wirelessly. The virus program I have is Kaspersky and I already ran a malwarebytes scan through safe mode. At this point, all applications work fine except that I cannot connect to the wireless network. I ran the troubleshoot for the wirless network and reinstalled the drivers but it still cannot detect any wireless networks. Is there anything I can do without reinstalling Win 7 or updating the BIOS? The radio button or the wireless adapter is blue telling me that its working ok. When I checked it through device manager, it says that the device is working properly. connect to my wireless network? (There is no problem with the wireless network through the wireless router since I can connect with no issues on another laptop).

I am still not able to get internet access through my network switch. Where I want to have the switch, I have a TV (with LAN port), PS3, a network capable hard drive, and a iMac. I want to be able to connect the switch to the ethernet jack on the wall and then connect the components to the switch. When I connect directly to the wall jack, I always get internet connection. I have tried two different switches, but still no avail.I have tried assigning static IPs to each of the systems, but have had no luck in getting them to connect. The LAN jack is wired directly into the actiontech router. The range on the router is 192.168.1.10-192.168.1.256 (192.168.1.2 is a dd-wrt range extender).

Just recently I have one of my computers connected to my router not able to access internet, while all the other ones can. I have a wireless and 2 LAN connection to my router 1 computer from the LAN connection works but I'm having trouble with the other one.When I connect my cable from the modem directly to the my computer internet works fine.I tried resetting Winsock didn't work. I have a Hp Pavilion dv9000 that is connected to [code] I phoned up my internet provider who ran a series of test on my laptop and they said it was my laptop that was the problem not the router itself. Tests included some sort of number entry on intenernet explorer "192.6.10020" and i also connected the laptop to the internet with a wire which WORK :) But doesnt continue to work once i disconnect the wire. I have an HP Pavilion p6724y that has a wireless connection that messes up our wireless internet when it tries to download something bigger than a few megabytes. It'll work fine for five or so minutes but then it'll crash to 0 bps. The lights on the 2wire go red and reconnect after a minute or two. It only does this with my desktop, my laptop and the family computer work just fine.

wireless disconnecting all the time and very slow connection I have a HP Pavilion DV7T-6000 and for the past week, the wireless INTERNET disconnects. If you place the laptop next to the cable modem/router, the connection stay up and the download speed is fast (40+Mbps on a 100 MBps connection. I also, can connect via Ethernet cable and get similar or just a little faster connection. ) If I move the laptop away from the cable modem/router, the connection speed and stability drops. I only have the one wireless laptop this weekend. I will be bring home a different laptop on Monday to verify the cable modem/ router is working properly. I have tried to diagnose and repair, system restore.
