View 2 RepliesMy hard-drive crashed, and I bought it refurbished, so I never got a Windows disc. I got a hard-drive from a friend, and I am trying to use it with my laptop, but it is missing the Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and the PCI Controller drivers. I have searched all around, and I can not talk to Acer, for my warranty is past. They just want to repair it.

I have an HP Pavilion notebook that was given to me by a friend who had upgraded to a new computer. Due to the fact that she no longer remembered the password to the computer I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium to gain access to the computer. Unfortunately, while the computer seems to be running perfectly, when I attempt to find network connections my computer not only can't find wireless connections, but it doesn't even allow the option of manually creating a wireless connection under my Internet options. My computer has a built in NVIDIA nforce Network controller listed under my network adapters and when I check its status it states that it is working properly, yet it doesn't detect any wireless networks. In addition to this, I've read online that the wireless indicator light on my computer should switch from orange to blue when turned on, but even with my wireless switched on the light remains orange.I've also clicked the update drivers option on the NVIDIA network controller, but it states that the drivers are current and changes nothing.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've got a Philips MT1800, Intel Core 2 Duo package. My network adapters are recognised (1394 Net Adapter, Intel Pro/1000 PM Network Connection), but in unknown Devices the 'Network Controller' drivers are not found (there was a Ralink RT2500 slot before, I'm assuming this is the missing driver??). EVEREST Home Edition recognises a Ralink RT2500 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter (PCI), and my PC finds new hardware on reboot, but it cannot find drivers at all. I've tried a few methods, such as Driver Detective etc. but don't have the original restore CD any more, so don't want to tamper with any other "out of date" drivers. I am not in a situation where I can order a restore CD, so I'm hesitant to System Restore in case something else becomes unresolvable.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi just reinstalled windows on my laptop and i figured i could just download drivers from the dell website. after following the installation order specified on the website.. installing first the NSS and then the chipset, etc.. I realized there wasn't a driver for the NIC on the website. i also noticed that the steps didn't include a step for ethernet drivers, so i replaced the NIC step with installing the broadcom integrated controller. unfortunately, after completing the rest of the installation steps, my Network Controller driver is still not installed (looking in the device manager), a hardwire connection through the ethernet cable gives me "limited or no connectivity" and there is no wireless capability whatsoever.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently cleaned my hard drive, but forgot to save my drivers.
Now after installing Windows XP, I can't access the internet and I can't save anything because I keep getting insufficient memory errors (but my drive is almost empty), but I have been able to update drivers.
I have managed to recover some of the drivers but I can't figure out what I have to do to get my desktop to access the web. I have tried directly connecting to my router and using my wireless USB adapter (whose driver I can't install because of an insufficient error message).
My computer is a HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7640n Desktop that I bought several years ago:

my new build i installed a TP-link 300mbps wireless card, it will only however be recognised as ethernet controller and not the normal network adapter. So i put an old wireless card from another PC into mine and it works without a hitch comes up with network adapter in device manager and installs fine, and the problem card was put into an older PC and worked fine just like expected. Im really unsure on what could cause this and im not to sure about buying another card just get incase
my system info is(not sure if it matters)
ASUS M5A99X evo R2
Phenom 965 BE
8GB kingston Hyper X 1600mhz ram

I just reinstalled windows 7 on my Intel i3 M380 laptop, and now I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly and I can't connect with a ethernet cable. In device manager, it says those devices aren't installed. I can't install them because the laptop has no internet. I can't seem to find the drivers for them either on intel. Seems like the reinstallation deleted my network adapter.. I can't find the correct link on intel.. I've tried like 3-4 on my laptop and none of them seem to work..

NEED TO FIND PROPER NIC . MY COMPUTER HAS NO ETHERNET PORT
I live in a dorm where internet is provided through a router that is pretty much encased in a metallic box on the side of the wall. At the beginning of the year, my parents bought me an extremely long ethernet cable ( about 15 feet I'm guessing). I have been using this ethernet cord with no problems up until now. I find it difficult to maintain the long cord as it gets tangled everywhere and I switch it between my laptop and my xbox (I can't get a switch to work). After prolonged switching between the xbox and the laptop the little tab thing that you push broke off and the cable starts to slide and disconnects me from the internet. I decided to get another ethernet cable and I tried connecting it but my laptop does not detect the cable and I do not see any lights turn on like my other ethernet.

I reinstalled win XP home and now have question marks beside Ethernet controller, Multimedia Audio controller, and PCI Input Device under the device manager. It shows that my Network adaptor is the 1394 Net Adapter. I have tried ipconfig and all it shows is Windows IP Configuration. no address or anyhting else. I am my ISP is Comcast with a cisco DPC3000 modem but they did not give me any drivers for this product. I have searched the dell website to find the drivers but am not really sure what i am looking for once i key in my service tag. I do have internet connection through my laptop which is a macbook and everything i load and transfer either doesn't have setup files or wont run properly on the dell unless i have internet acess.
View 19 Replies View RelatedMy computer was playing up so I reinstalled windows. Only problem is the disk that has the drivers for the Ethernet doesn't show it so i can install. I went into the disk and tried to manually reinstall but it just installed and didn't work. I can't see the network adapter under the device manager it's like it's gone. It's a custom built system on xp.
