My computer was playing up so I reinstalled windows. Only problem is the disk that has the drivers for the Ethernet doesn't show it so i can install. I went into the disk and tried to manually reinstall but it just installed and didn't work. I can't see the network adapter under the device manager it's like it's gone. It's a custom built system on xp.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to install the drivers for the adapter normally, Windows 7x64 gives me a message that the device name "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" already exists and is in use, preventing me from installing the wireless driver properly. In order to get around it, I changed all "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" fields into "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter B" in the netr28ux.inf file to make the driver install under a different name.I tried everything I can to remove all evidence of linksys drivers from my computer, uninstalling and removing driverstore with pnputil.exe, but I cannot seem to find the originating files to uninstall.For now the way I edited the netr28ux.inf file works, but I'd rather be able to install the driver as intended.

I downloaded the drivers from the dell website (for vista 32bit), but when I try to install it says "Press Fn+F2 or turn on the wireless switch". The wireless switch is already on, and I press Fn+F2, but to no avail. It worked fine on Vista Home Premium 32bit. I tried running the install file in compatibility mode too, to no avail. how to make it work?

View 4 Replies View Relatedxps 410 running win 7 64bit cannot get usb bluetooth adapters to work. latest attempt is a micro innovations usb60bt that a Fry's salesman demonstrated in the store with an HP notebook. took it home and three drivers fail to install correctly:
bluetooth hands-free audio
bluetooth remote control
bluetooth L2cap interface.
None of these gave problems when the guy installed it (plugged it in) in fry's; it immediately was able to pair with my BB 8900. Since upgrading the XPS to win 7 have not been able to pair it to anything. Is the bleeping bios that is no longer supported out-dated?
I've tried my trusty old Belkin, a new IOGEAR class 1 and the latest, USB60BT by micro innovations class 1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot install the drivers for my TrendNet TEW-423PI network interface card. I am running Windows 7 64-bit with an Intel i7 2700k and an Asus motherboard. I have tried installing with the card already in the computer - no luck. Card out of the computer install and then shut off and put in - no luck. The instructions that come with the card say that after you install the program that instantly runs from the CD provided you should shut off the computer and install the card and when you turn the computer back on the drivers will install automatically. It has failed to do so and although I pulled all possible drivers from TrendNet's site it still stubbornly refuses to even recognize that there are drivers for it to install.

I recently wiped my dell dimension 4550 clean due to the fact that it was given to me. I reinstalled win XP home and now have question marks beside Ethernet controller, Multimedia Audio controller, and PCI Input Device under the device manager. It shows that my Network adaptor is the 1394 Net Adapter. I have tried ipconfig and all it shows is Windows IP Configuration. no address or anyhting else. I am my ISP is Comcast with a cisco DPC3000 modem but they did not give me any drivers for this product. I have searched the dell website to find the drivers but am not really sure what i am looking for once i key in my service tag. I do have internet connection through my laptop which is a macbook and everything i load and transfer either doesn't have setup files or wont run properly on the dell unless i have internet acess.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and I'm using the Vista 64-bit (since those are the only ones available on the site that match). I install the drivers, reset, the network icon shows up in the bottom righthand corner with an X over it. When I click troubleshoot, it tells me that a network adapter needs to be installed.
