ASUS P5KC Is Not Installing / Using Attansic Ethernet Drivers Correctly?
Feb 1, 2011
My ASUS P5KC is not installing/using the Attansic Ethernet drivers correctly. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and I'm using the Vista 64-bit (since those are the only ones available on the site that match). I install the drivers, reset, the network icon shows up in the bottom righthand corner with an X over it. When I click troubleshoot, it tells me that a network adapter needs to be installed. I check the device manager and there's no network adapter there.
WCG200?i have just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium as the OS.i've already downloaded the new driver file, and unzipped it. but how to i install it so that i can get online wirelessly?all my permissions are set properly to allow communication, but i cannot get onto the wireless network.i've also noticed that the WCG200 is not listed on the Linksys Windows Vista Support page. does this mean that my WCG200 is not supported to work with Vista. if so, why are there Vista drivers available for download?currently i am connected via wire and it works fine. it also detects my wireless network. the problem is just connecting to it.
Started a fresh installation on windows 7 RC 64 bit popped in adapter, and tried installing disk, disk would get the portion where it asked to input the adapter, then just vanish after i click next. I restarted, nothing. I clicked set up again, says drivers are already installed....though there is no app to show profiles, im guessing it isn't.

version 1.00 would work just like the disk. version 2.00 would not start at all and would give an "the application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005).."
i have installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my Inspiron 1520 (Clean installation). The OS is working fine and most of the Drivers are working properly. The Wireless LAN is installed but the sometimes wireless networks are not detecting until the computer and access point are restarted several times. The situation is similar to the problem which I faced for Windows 7 in the following thread.

I like to know how to solve this error, where to find proper drivers and how to configure the laptop and OS to work properly.
We have a Server 2008 R2 print server that handles all printing for our mixed windows domain. I am trying to install 64 bit drivers so that our newer 64 bit clients can simply double click on the printer to add it to their list of printers.
According to what I'm reading online, I'm supposed to go into the printer's properties. Click Sharing, then click additional drivers. Makes sense. I select the x64 for the processor type (x86 is checked by default and will not uncheck).
At this point it wants me to locate the drivers. I point it to the HP drivers that I have downloaded for 64 bit processors and hit ok but it tells me "The specified location does not contain the driver HP laserjet 4250 PCL 5 for the requested processor architecture." Which it does, although it is PCL 5e rather than PCL 5.
I also have read that the drivers need to have the same name. I assume this means within the INI file. I've tried to change all the locations to read PCL 5 instead of PCL 5e but it gives another error instead. "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator."
I just bought a WMP600N adaptor and although windows 7 recognizes it I would like to install the official drivers from Linksys. When I try to update the drivers that I downloaded from the linksys website I het an access denied error. I am logged in as the administrator. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, but still I get the access denied error. I even tried the windows safe mode and still got the access denied error.
With the default windows 7 drivers the connection is quite poor. how I can install the official windows 7 drivers?

A couple of weeks ago, my wireless connection was getting slower and slower. As one day it decided to get extremely slow, I decided to uninstall the wireless card via device manager and reinstall it. Once this had been completed, the wireless just stopped working. The signal bar came up with zero and had a big red X in it. It works fine with ethernet cable but just won't seem to work as a wifi connector.
I have reinstalled all drivers and everything is enabled. When troubleshooting, it comes up with a possible problem with driver. Once this has been resolved it is then a problem with the network. The router is fine as I am able to connect on every other device in the house. I even purchased a USB wifi adaptor in the event of the Wireless card packing in but this is still creating the same problem. I used system restore to roll back the laptop to a time when the wireless worked and it didn't seem to work at all.
Installed windows server 2008 and enabled wireless in the server manager but when I try to install any drivers for the wifi I get the error message "must install in windows 98 (SE), windows me, windows 2000, windows xp, win 2003, vista!"server 2008 uses vista drivers?
I have had my new computer up and running for 2 days amd have installed 2 games but i couldnt connect to the internet because my driver installation cd says "D: is not a valid win32 application" when i try to run it and i dont know what to do i have tried resetting cd to defaults, installing manually by going in to cd files and have tried running in safe mode but nothing works .i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS
I recently wiped my dell dimension 4550 clean due to the fact that it was given to me. I reinstalled win XP home and now have question marks beside Ethernet controller, Multimedia Audio controller, and PCI Input Device under the device manager. It shows that my Network adaptor is the 1394 Net Adapter. I have tried ipconfig and all it shows is Windows IP Configuration. no address or anyhting else. I am my ISP is Comcast with a cisco DPC3000 modem but they did not give me any drivers for this product. I have searched the dell website to find the drivers but am not really sure what i am looking for once i key in my service tag. I do have internet connection through my laptop which is a macbook and everything i load and transfer either doesn't have setup files or wont run properly on the dell unless i have internet acess.
My computer was playing up so I reinstalled windows. Only problem is the disk that has the drivers for the Ethernet doesn't show it so i can install. I went into the disk and tried to manually reinstall but it just installed and didn't work. I can't see the network adapter under the device manager it's like it's gone. It's a custom built system on xp.
1. I recently purchased an Asus X53-sx1159v laptop (Windows 7 64 bit os - other detals at bottom ).
2. While it has a wifi network connection (which works fine), it doesn't seem to have any listing for ethernet (ie wired) connection. (even though it has the port for wired access.)
3. When i look under computer/device manager/networks, all i get is the wifi atheros 9485 network adaptor. There is no other listing. (see attched file for screen grabs)
4. Am i missing something obvious with all this? The Asus website has examples of this model with screen grab which includes an ethernet adaptor as well (see attached file)
Note that laptop is labelled as an X53 series but in the computer it get listed as a K53e

So I finally got rid of the network cable across my hallway, yes it was faster, however It was ugly and I just didn't like it being there or having to cover it etc.
My attic makes a simple drop very difficult. I would need to cut into my plaster walls and hire a drywaller who knows how to work with plater to fix them, then re-paint my walls etc.
I always thought wireless N would be too slow to stream larger H264 files mkvs etc. So I bought a new ASUS Wirelss AC router, and AC network card.
I also bought some toplink 500mbps power outlet transmitters to test in the bedroom. This PC also has a ASUS PCE-N13 300MPS wirless card (150MPS upload), that was missing antennas. I borrowed some wireless g antennas fro some old routers to to test it out. For the Tp-Link Power Line adapters I tried 3 plugs that are all on the same braker, and in fact are wired off the same run.
Both living room and bedroom are pretty close to the office, with 2 walls (but also 2 door ways that line up through a JackNJill bathroom (so no walls?) directly into the bedroom. The living room has to go through one wall and around the hallway corner.
So the ASUS AC network card picks up the router at 833Mbps in my living room. The ASUS PCE-N13 picks up at 150/133 Mbps in the bedroom. The Toplink 500Mbps powerline adapter is shows as 100Mbps.
When plugging in the powerline adapters the Gig router it as a 100Mbps line too (Yellow light). Shouldn't this register as a Gbps line? How can they claim 500Mbps is they are only using a 100Mbps controller?!?!
[Code]...
So it seems like wireless N is working much better for me than the powerline adapters? I really like the hard line style of the adapters, but it concerns me that they are only detected as 100Mbps devices. How can they be detected as 100Mbps but claim up to 500Mbps? Should I send these back and try different powerline adapters? Or maybe I should just get another wireless Asus wireless AC card.
I am trying to install my router but I keep getting the error message that my ethernet cables are not connected. I have tried several times and everytime I know that the cables are in correctly. Is there anyway to solve this problem?
I have an ASUS X58C laptop which has been working OK to the internet via the ethernet cable but it has stopped working.I used the laptop via the wireless connection to access the internet while away from home and on my return I can not connect via the ethernet but I can connect OK via wireless. The results with the wireless enabled are :
C:>ipconfig Windows IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection* 13: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
[code]....
I can see that the ethernet adapter(s) are shown as media disconnected but I don't understand how to make them connected. I also don't understand why there are two ethernet adapters or what the Tunnel Adapters are. Before I did the ipconfig command I went into Control Panel/Device Manager/Network Adapters/SiS Ethernet Controller, right clicked and selected the Update Driver Software which searched the internet for a driver and installed it.
I have an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard and am having minor connection issues. Occasionally it will have trouble connecting to the internet....IMO, the traffic gets stuck as it attempts to send requests through the non-internet connected line. Here's how I have it connected, running Windows XP: It has a Realtek ethernet jack which is LAN 1 on the Connections menu and that line is connected to the router for internet. Typical set-up that automatically assigns IP address and all other options. It also has a Marvell Yukon connection (LAN 2) that connects to the server so that I can use the networked printer. I've assigned an IP address within the range of the settings on that router. The printer works. Is there a way to direct all internet or web data through one card so that the connection doesn't get bogged down? The server has no internet connection so I don't want any internet requests to go through the Marvell Yukon ethernet jack.
My hard-drive crashed, and I bought it refurbished, so I never got a Windows disc. I got a hard-drive from a friend, and I am trying to use it with my laptop, but it is missing the Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and the PCI Controller drivers. I have searched all around, and I can not talk to Acer, for my warranty is past. They just want to repair it.
I got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.
I have setup an Asus RT n16 with 3 computers that support gigabit ethernet and a media server on one floor. On the other floor I have set up a fast ethernet switch (connected to my asus router) which is connected to several fast ethernet enabled computers.
Would the fast ethernet devices slow down the entire gigabit networking to 100mbps connections on my floor - similar to how a wireless n network running at 300mpbs must slow down to 54mbps when a wireless g device is connected to it?
What are the correct driver to use for the Optilplex GX200 On-board Ethernet port.
My configuration gives me an error message saying I need drivers for my PCI Ethernet Controller, however, it has not identified the manufacturer or the driver.
I have a P7H55 Asus Motherboard with the ethernet port and cable working fine individually. However, when i connect them together, the ethernet light on the router remains stable as if connected but still the desktop shows not connected. This time i have installed the drivers which came from the motherboard manufacturer and are the latest. In the Network and Sharing Center, the icon is enabled. It does not show cross sign.
My internet service grinds to all but a halt as soon as I plug in the ethernet cable to my desktop. Nothing is running in the background (that I can determine). Nothing is spamming data up or down (that I can determine). I get 40ms ping and 12Mbps downloads on every device I have until I plug in my big boy; then all the speeds come crashing down to 600ms ping and 0.9-1.4Mbps downloads (including the desktop, I have not been able to play SWTOR for weeks now). It's not the provider, (I thought it was) but I switched from Time Warner to AT&T with the exact same results. ASUS P8P67 Pro; I've had funky issues with USB ports and one SATA port died. Other friends suggest I may have an awful bug and I need to wipe and start over. I wouldn't mind doing that, but I don't have a windows recovery disk (my copy is legitimate).
