HP Laserjet 4250 / Installing Additional Drivers On Print Server
Jan 17, 2011
We have a Server 2008 R2 print server that handles all printing for our mixed windows domain. I am trying to install 64 bit drivers so that our newer 64 bit clients can simply double click on the printer to add it to their list of printers.
According to what I'm reading online, I'm supposed to go into the printer's properties. Click Sharing, then click additional drivers. Makes sense. I select the x64 for the processor type (x86 is checked by default and will not uncheck).
At this point it wants me to locate the drivers. I point it to the HP drivers that I have downloaded for 64 bit processors and hit ok but it tells me "The specified location does not contain the driver HP laserjet 4250 PCL 5 for the requested processor architecture." Which it does, although it is PCL 5e rather than PCL 5.
I also have read that the drivers need to have the same name. I assume this means within the INI file. I've tried to change all the locations to read PCL 5 instead of PCL 5e but it gives another error instead. "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator."
We have using printer in network, it cause problems daily that we give print in remote i.e., in our system it responds too many connections being used or otherwise network path not found. The printer model is HP Laserjet 1020.
I am trying to setup a HP Laserjet 4100N printer so that it can be printed to wirelessly. The printer is connected to the network by an ethernet cable. The tech guys told me to configure the printer as so...
I have a small network of computers and printers in my tax office and consist of three computers running in window xp professional, one computer is designated as the server workstation and the c drive is the share drive and the other two work stations are mapped to the share drive c on the server workstation . so i am using peer to peer networking and these three computers are connected by a seven port router and two other printer are attached to the router also. i am having a problem printing from the computers to these printers, one is a hp laserjet 4200 and another is a hp laserjet all in one 3055.
In the past i just click and i would print, but a few day ago when i click print from either workstation it would que it to printing but it would have a message that it could not find my printer on the network. dont know why it all of a sudden stop working. do not know anything about setting up a printer on a network. do note the printers are connected to the router and not directly to the server workstation computer via usb. So the two workstation and the server workstation have the printer software on the C drive of each computer but for some reason it could not find the printers on the network. How to network a hp laserjet 4200 and Hp laserjet 3055 in a network that is connected by by one seven port router. why is the printers not in the network?
I've been trying to install our rwireless Hp printer on my laptop. I've had it installed and working, but then it goes offline and won't print. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Now it has the error symbol on it (yellow circle withan exclamation mark)
Since installing my WRT160N my printers have stopped working. All printer drivers have been removed including acrobat and my fax.
Even if I try reinstalling my drivers, I get the following error: Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Prior to this error my firewall was giving me constant warnings about Pure Networks Admin assistant application trying to access the same files(i.e. nmctxth.exe). Even though I allowed it still kept popping up.
I am using the online armor firewall on a Windows XP system. I cannot access the LinkSys Advisor anymore as it will not start.
WCG200?i have just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium as the OS.i've already downloaded the new driver file, and unzipped it. but how to i install it so that i can get online wirelessly?all my permissions are set properly to allow communication, but i cannot get onto the wireless network.i've also noticed that the WCG200 is not listed on the Linksys Windows Vista Support page. does this mean that my WCG200 is not supported to work with Vista. if so, why are there Vista drivers available for download?currently i am connected via wire and it works fine. it also detects my wireless network. the problem is just connecting to it.
My ASUS P5KC is not installing/using the Attansic Ethernet drivers correctly. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and I'm using the Vista 64-bit (since those are the only ones available on the site that match). I install the drivers, reset, the network icon shows up in the bottom righthand corner with an X over it. When I click troubleshoot, it tells me that a network adapter needs to be installed. I check the device manager and there's no network adapter there.
Started a fresh installation on windows 7 RC 64 bit popped in adapter, and tried installing disk, disk would get the portion where it asked to input the adapter, then just vanish after i click next. I restarted, nothing. I clicked set up again, says drivers are already installed....though there is no app to show profiles, im guessing it isn't.

version 1.00 would work just like the disk. version 2.00 would not start at all and would give an "the application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005).."
i have installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my Inspiron 1520 (Clean installation). The OS is working fine and most of the Drivers are working properly. The Wireless LAN is installed but the sometimes wireless networks are not detecting until the computer and access point are restarted several times. The situation is similar to the problem which I faced for Windows 7 in the following thread.

I like to know how to solve this error, where to find proper drivers and how to configure the laptop and OS to work properly.
I just bought a WMP600N adaptor and although windows 7 recognizes it I would like to install the official drivers from Linksys. When I try to update the drivers that I downloaded from the linksys website I het an access denied error. I am logged in as the administrator. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, but still I get the access denied error. I even tried the windows safe mode and still got the access denied error.
With the default windows 7 drivers the connection is quite poor. how I can install the official windows 7 drivers?
So far we add any router in the existing network simply by disabling DHCP server, and adding LAN ip for that. We don't add WAN detail at all in the additional routers. And plug one cable from main network to the LAN port of the additional routers. So we basically use that additional routers only as a access point for WIFI.But what I wonder is if it's possible for me to use the additional routers with the same feature as of the main routers i.e. Enabling DHCP server so that it too can give its own DHCP ip address.
My Primary Domain Server is down and i have to format the server. I have 2 Additional domain controllers. How do I add DC after formating the server in the same domain.
I wonder if dir825 with ddwrt firmware are able to set up additional tftp server? I try to serve dir825 both as tftp server and dhcp server to allow remote client to have pxe booting from it. ( the booting image file would be located in external HD attatched to dir825's usb port )
You are responsible for managing and configuring printers and print servers for your organization. You must determine what you can do to increase the performance of your print servers responding to client print requests. What options are likely to improve print server performance?
My laptop connects wirelessly via router to RoadRunner/internet and work well.I want to physically (ethernet) connect my laptop (via it's docking station) to a print server and then in turn to a printer."link" light is on, on print server however "pinging" 192.168.0.10 (factory default) fails.
We are looking for a print server that saves prints to a hardrive when printed from anywhere on a network. What is meant by saves prints meaning that they can be accessed anytime during the future for reference and security reason
I have a NG PS121V2 print server that i had working on my cradle point MBR 900 with a lexmark E238 I lost the MBR 900 during a storm so i picked up a Belkin N300 until i decide what to do about ISP.I can not get the NG Print Server to now. when i go through the setup wizard for the Print server i can configure and print a test page but as soon as i exit the setup wizard i can no longer print? e)
I have a trendnet TEW-P1UG when I connect to it by wireless and I am able to click the test printer on the ip page, but I cant just print things?am I meant to link to the print server from my router? or from my pc that I wish to print from?
I am using Tplink TL-WR940N wireless router and recently attached the TPLINK PS110P paralell print server with it. I run the installation wizard on my Windows 7 System. But my router doesnt detect print server...
Configured a DP-G310 Print Server to work with the DIR 655? I have upgraded the firmware so I have WPA Security. I have typed in the WPA key in the DP-G310 setup. The DIR 655 sees the DP-G310 but it won't assign it an IP address. I can see the DP-G310 MAC address in the DIR 655 wireless status page but the IP is 0.0.0.0 and it disappears and reappears in the wireless connections list.
We have a new building coming online. It is a layer 3 connection (OSPF) between our core and this building. I have a handful of VLANs configured at this building (using VTP) and I'm having a problem with only 1 of them (the printer VLAN).From the print server (a virtual machine who's host is directly attached to our core switch - a Cisco 6509), I can NOT ping any of the printers at the remote building. But I can ping the gateway for that vlan (which is on the L3 switch/router for the building - a Cisco 3750X).However, if I put a laptop on that vlan at the building, I can ping the print server as well as the other printers.
I ran a traceroute from the print server to the printer's IP address and after hitting the building's router, the requests just started timing out.
I double, triple, and quadruple checked the laptop and printer configurations. In my troubleshooting,I even created a DHCP scope and added the ip helper-address to the interface vlan. My laptop, connected to a switchport on that vlan received the IP address, DNS server info, etc. from the DHCP server (which is on the same vlan as the print server). From my laptop, I could get to all of our internal web servers. I configured the firewall to allow that IP range internet access, and had full internet access on my laptop. But still, I could not ping my laptop or the printers from the print server.
No change in the traceroute.
I then created a vlan interface on the access layer switch (a stack of Cisco 2690Ss) that the printers and my laptop were connected to.From the print server I *could* successfully ping that vlan interface.Traceroute went right to it (3 hops from print server - core switch, router at building, vlan interface on distribution switch). But I could still not ping the laptop or any printers from the print server.
I even wiped out all config related to this vlan - the vlan interfaces on the distribution switch and the L3 switch, deleted the vlan itself, the router network statement, etc. Then rebuilt it all over again.Same results. I've compared every line of config for this vlan to other vlans where this problem is NOT occurring and can find no difference.
I have got a bluetooth print server (Nortek, BT 500). The user manual doesn't contain pairing code. (The serial number or the MAC address doesn't work! The manufacturer's WEB page also doesn't work: [URL] ) I've tried the following codes:
I am trying to bridge my wireless signal from the cable modem/router located upstairs to my TV, Onkyo surround receiver, DVD , & DirecTV DVR which are all located near each other downstairs.I have a wireless print server setup near the downstairs electronics with ethernet cables running from the print server to each component
I have a simple question; Does the E4200 have a print server built into it? I have a usb printer that I want to attach to the router so multiple computers can print to it. The printer does not have ethernet or wireless. I will be upgrading the printer later but would like for it to work with all my computers at the moment.
