I wonder if dir825 with ddwrt firmware are able to set up additional tftp server? I try to serve dir825 both as tftp server and dhcp server to allow remote client to have pxe booting from it. ( the booting image file would be located in external HD attatched to dir825's usb port )

Let say it might wrongly downloaded the 7640 firmware? Who take care of this? The phone itself? or the CME will tell the IP phone to take only the 7970 firmware via the Default.xml file?

I followed the directions located at:Linksys WRT54G2 v1.0 - DD-WRT WikiAfter following the directions and doing a hard reboot I was able to log into the router but was unable to connect to the internet via WiFi and/or Ethernet.My internet enabled TV and wireless labtop detected the ssid made by the router but could not connect to the internet. I am able to connect to the internet using a old Netgear WGR614 v6 router.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a crappy router/modem from comcast with two windows machines and a linux web server connected. I also have another router, a Linksys WRT54G with DDWRT firmware with WAN connected to the modem/router. The linux web server has a static IP, configured with /etc/network/interfaces The network goes down randomly. Disconnecting and rebooting the linux web server usually fixes it. It's possible that the WRT54G could be at fault as well.The problem is that I just don't have any information on what is happening on the network. (Well even if I had the information, I'm not sure I would know what to do with it) I installed wireshark, I figure I should just leave it running until the network goes down, then I can go through the packets and see if I see anything weird?

i seem not be able to find where to configure the tftp server.
I am trying to implement a small VoIP LAN (you can see the lan in attachments)for a personal project. I am using:
- 2 x XP (on which i installed Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.3.0)
- 1 x Ubuntu (running GNS3 with a c3600 Router)
The problem is that the phone which is not in the same LAN with the tftp server cannot register.
1) Can a phone register to a tftp server from another LAN ?
2) If the answer for 1) is yes, what am i doing wrong (you can see the details in the attachments)? I mention that the ping works well anywhere in the LAN.
So far we add any router in the existing network simply by disabling DHCP server, and adding LAN ip for that. We don't add WAN detail at all in the additional routers. And plug one cable from main network to the LAN port of the additional routers.So we basically use that additional routers only as a access point for WIFI.But what I wonder is if it's possible for me to use the additional routers with the same feature as of the main routers i.e. Enabling DHCP server so that it too can give its own DHCP ip address.

I have connected the console cable and I can see the unit giving information in the console window, but I cannot type any commands. When I try to get the unit to upload the c1140-k9w7-tar.default file by holding the mode button in for 20-30 seconds, it shows it is examining the file, and then states that the connection to the tftp server has timed out. My windows firewall is off, the interface is configured as 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 and the tftp server is showing that.

I have seen this behavior on a few different Cisco devices over the years and have never found a solution. The connection is made to the tftp server (in this case tftpd but similar behavior on any tftp server) and a blank file is created on the target machine file system, but the data is never transferred.

This is also stopping me upgrading the image on the router as I cannot transfer in the other direction either.
We have a Server 2008 R2 print server that handles all printing for our mixed windows domain. I am trying to install 64 bit drivers so that our newer 64 bit clients can simply double click on the printer to add it to their list of printers.
According to what I'm reading online, I'm supposed to go into the printer's properties. Click Sharing, then click additional drivers. Makes sense. I select the x64 for the processor type (x86 is checked by default and will not uncheck).
At this point it wants me to locate the drivers. I point it to the HP drivers that I have downloaded for 64 bit processors and hit ok but it tells me "The specified location does not contain the driver HP laserjet 4250 PCL 5 for the requested processor architecture." Which it does, although it is PCL 5e rather than PCL 5.
I also have read that the drivers need to have the same name. I assume this means within the INI file. I've tried to change all the locations to read PCL 5 instead of PCL 5e but it gives another error instead. "Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator."
I need to transfer a config from a TFTP Server to a 4507 and a 6513. When I transfer the config to both those switches, does it require a reboot?

View 2 Replies View Related i am gettinfg the following error while copy the configuration from 6590 to tftp server %Error opening tftp://x.x.x.x/yyyy (Timed out)
1) The file is getting created in the TFTP server but it is empty and a Zero Kb file
2 ) I can able to ping to the FTTP server from the switch
3) I can able to ping to switch from the tftp server
4) The same tftp server is working wih all another Switches (i have checked with anothed TFTP softwares also but the same problem)
5) The switch is in the different subnet, the switch is having several SVIs. Also Configured the command "ip tftp source interface vlan361" (This interface can able to ping from the tftp server and also can do extended Ping from this IP to the tftp server)
6)The communication between Ftp server and the switch want to cross Point to Point WAN link (Another switches can communicate with the tftp server through the same wan link)
7)If i run FTP server on the same System and try to copy running config from 6509 to FTP some times it is working and some times it is giving the error.
