View 4 Repliesi have few catalyst switches (2960, 3750) and i can't upload to them any files by tftp from my laptop, but i can download from them, and this bug don't appears on two routers.I was change tftp server, type of connection (wifi, cable), turn off firewall on win7, but no dice.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 831 router (c831-k9o3y6-mz.124-5c.bin) that cannot backup the config to a local tftp server. I have seen this behavior on a few different Cisco devices over the years and have never found a solution. The connection is made to the tftp server (in this case tftpd but similar behavior on any tftp server) and a blank file is created on the target machine file system, but the data is never transferred.
The router shows %Error opening tftp://192.168.0.2/router-confg (Timed out) [Failed]

In the process of upgrading the image for all of our floor switches..In total there are 35 WS-3560G-PS switches.
So far I have been upgrading them all to image c3560-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SE2.bin and that has gone well.
But this eve 2 of the switches are extremely slow on the TFTP transfer. Duplexing and links are good back to core.
But when I do a sh ver to compare one switch that is good and one that isnt I noticed this
TFTP Transfer is good on this one - cisco WS-C3560G-48PS (PowerPC405) processor (revision F0) with 122880K/8184K bytes of memory.
TFTP Transfer is slow on this one - cisco WS-C3560G-48PS (PowerPC405) processor (revision F0) with 131072K bytes of memory.
I am doing image upgrade on Catalyst 6509-E. During TFTP image transfer to sup-bootflash I always see !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!o!!!!!!!!!! "o" out of sequence packet. Although the image size seems to be correct at the end but there is always some "o" packets.
I am assuming not, but I haven't tried loading with the image after seeing this.
We have been deploying ASA 5500 series devices for longer than I've been around. We have always used a script from a tftp server that would use the "wr net" command to send the running-config to the tftp server for daily backups. The script was setup to automatically name these "hostname-mm/dd/yyyy" for each device. We cannot seem to get this working on devices running ASA 8.43. In fact I can't even get the "wr net" command to work from the ASA at all even though I have the tftp server defined correctly (note this is going over the "outside" interface so I always get the warning regarding using the interface with the lowest security level). I'm sure there is something out there that I have overlooked, however I have not been able to come across this. Have there been any changes in the setup, or functionality of the wr net command or the tftp configuration with ASA 8.43?

I heard WCS is going to be obsolete soon but didnt find any official announcement except for legacy licenses?

I am trying to implement a small VoIP LAN (you can see the lan in attachments)for a personal project. I am using:
- 2 x XP (on which i installed Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.3.0)
- 1 x Ubuntu (running GNS3 with a c3600 Router)
The problem is that the phone which is not in the same LAN with the tftp server cannot register.
1) Can a phone register to a tftp server from another LAN ?
2) If the answer for 1) is yes, what am i doing wrong (you can see the details in the attachments)? I mention that the ping works well anywhere in the LAN.
I have a questions on an Ip phone when getting the firmware from the TFTP server (e.g. CME) after bootup,- After the registration with CME, the IP phone will getting an auto config file which is the Default.xml file. - The CME will acts a a TFTP server which contains all the IP phone's firmware for different models like 7970 and 7640 in different directories.- The CME have configured with the directory path for all the IP phone when the IP phone come to TFTP and acquired the firmware.Let say I have a phone registered is 7970 and what is the mechanism that governs that my 7970 is not downloading the wrong firmware from the TFTP? Let say it might wrongly downloaded the 7640 firmware? Who take care of this? The phone itself? or the CME will tell the IP phone to take only the 7970 firmware via the Default.xml file?

View 1 Replies View Relatedow to backup Cisco ASA-5510 from a Linux server via TFTP?I do know how to backup a switch or a router. Basically creating an access list such as:
access-list 55 remark PERMIT hosts requesting TFTP access
access-list 55 permit host 172.16.0.27
and allowing access to
tftp-server nvram:startup-config 55
all this inside the router or the switch. From the Linux box just running a simple command such as:
tftp 172.16.0.3 -c get startup-config newbackup.conf
where 172.16.0.3 is the IP address of the switch and newbackup.conf is the name of the config file stored on the Linux machine. So, how do I do that with an ASA box? how to backup ASA from inside it.
How do i go about setting up a TFTP server from laptop to Cisco ws-C3750 48P Switch, I need to pull the image off the switch and place it on an other switch that has a corrupt image, The switch which is corrupted is the same as above Cisco ws-C3750 48P.

I have connected the console cable and I can see the unit giving information in the console window, but I cannot type any commands. When I try to get the unit to upload the c1140-k9w7-tar.default file by holding the mode button in for 20-30 seconds, it shows it is examining the file, and then states that the connection to the tftp server has timed out. The question I would like to ask is - is it possible to boot the IOS from a TFTP server? If this is possible what configuration do I need on the 6509 to enable this. How does the 6509 know about the TFTP server as an IOS is not installed and therefore it will not have a network configuration

I have a Catalyst 4006 with Supervisor II engine. I have 48 port 10/100/1000 blades installed in it for connection to my servers. I am having a lot of problems with performance when connecting servers that are using 100 MB NICs. The speed of the connection is really bad. I have attempted setting the ports and NICs to 100MB Full duplex instead of auto-detect, but still get the same results.
I also have a 10/100 quad-port card installed in a NetApp filer. All four ports are trunked together and connect to 4 ports in the Catalyst. The ports in the Catalyst are trunked using the Port Channel feature of the CatOS. When I look at the port statistics on 3 of the 4 ports from the quad-card, there are a ton of runts and errors (both transmit and receive). The 4th port is fine, no errors.
I need to configure on a cisco catalyst 6509 two VACL. On cisco 6509 there are already two SPAN ports configured, there are problems configuring other two VACL?
These VACLs send traffic to a Traffic Analyzer (SIEM), there are particular configurations to facilitate the operation?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have the next Settings in our SW. We crate an ACL and aplied to a SVI for Incomming Traffic, I understand that is not necesasry to allow the returning traffic in ACL, but we can't access to rdp for example when we add the ACL, if we remove it, the acces is ok, buet when we add again the access is deny, even we have a log entry, and the ACL i just for Incomming traffic. There is no another ACL.
See attached file
[code]...
I have set up an ACL on my 3750 switch to deny icmp from PC A on our inside network to PC B on a different VLAN on our inside network using the following ACLs:
deny icmp host 10.1.17.15 host 10.3.10.4
deny icmp host 10.3.10.4 host 10.1.17.15
-- or --
deny icmp host 10.1.17.15 host 10.3.10.4 echo-replydeny icmp host 10.3.10.4 host 10.1.17.15 echo-reply
These ACLs belong to an access-list that also limits ip traffic to a few specific machines. When I try pinging from PC A I receive a reply message back from PC B. Shouldn't this configuration block any ICMP from PC A to PC B and from PC B to PC A? I would have expected the first ACL statement to block any packets associated with ICMP and when that didn't work I tried the second configuration.
IGMP Snooping configuration for Multicasting on Cisco Catalyst 3020
Our switch model is "Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 for HP" We are building HA (High Availability) Databases infrastructure. Currently, there are two nodes(hosts- servers) and two above switch for HA.
Oracle said we need to turn off the IGMP Snooping in order to use the multicasting for their interconnect communication. So my question is:
Q1> Is there any way to use Multicasting without turning off IGMP Snooping on Switch side?
Q2> If 'yes', how can we configure the switch for Multicasting ?
Oracle uses 230.0.1.0 & 224.0.0.251 IPs with 42000 range port for Multicasting communication.
