I have a WRT54G2 V1 linksys wireless router. I was going to upgrade it to DD-WRT and install it at my mother's house. It was working before upgrading it to dd-wrt. I followed the directions located at:Linksys WRT54G2 v1.0 - DD-WRT WikiAfter following the directions and doing a hard reboot I was able to log into the router but was unable to connect to the internet via WiFi and/or Ethernet. My internet enabled TV and wireless labtop detected the ssid made by the router but could not connect to the internet. I am able to connect to the internet using a old Netgear WGR614 v6 router.
I wonder if dir825 with ddwrt firmware are able to set up additional tftp server? I try to serve dir825 both as tftp server and dhcp server to allow remote client to have pxe booting from it. ( the booting image file would be located in external HD attatched to dir825's usb port )
I just have an old Dlink DIR-615 Wireless router. I have some problems with it and need to improve it... So, what is the best option... buy a new DIR-636L or 657 router or install the latest ddwrt firmware on the existing one?
I have a crappy router/modem from comcast with two windows machines and a linux web server connected. I also have another router, a Linksys WRT54G with DDWRT firmware with WAN connected to the modem/router. The linux web server has a static IP, configured with /etc/network/interfaces The network goes down randomly. Disconnecting and rebooting the linux web server usually fixes it. It's possible that the WRT54G could be at fault as well. The problem is that I just don't have any information on what is happening on the network. (Well even if I had the information, I'm not sure I would know what to do with it) I installed wireshark, I figure I should just leave it running until the network goes down, then I can go through the packets and see if I see anything weird?
I have the latest firmware, have the settings correct (the UPnP is disabled and whatever)
Model number: E3000 Serial number: CVQ01KC13100 Firmware version: 1.0.04 build 6 Operating system: Windows 7 SP 1 Software version: 1.3.11006.1 Connection type (WAN): PPPoE
Went out of town 2 weeks in March, and all through April didn't have any disconnects. Have had this problem since I got it, it gets really bad from time to time (like now). Thought it was my provider for the longest time, but found out if I connect via wired, no disconnects! Is re-flash simply downloading and installing firmware?
I own the linksys wrt160n v2...It has latest firmware 2.03 build 9...After installing this firmware i have noticed the internet speeds have reduced, the router requires frequent reboots to make it stable..
i used to have firmware version 2.02 build 15...It was stable unlike the current firmware...i cant find the old firmware anywhere...how do i revert back to old firmware?
I recently downloaded DDWRT to my DIR-615. I was trying to change my DIR-615 from a router to a client bridge but I was not able to get any internet connection on the device after I change the settings.
if there is a stable or if the current website offered version of DDWRT is stable and working good on Asus Rt-N66U router?
I really want to work with some of the features like VLAN etc... on this firmware. I am no stranger to the software but I want to be sure I am not going to burn up my router or cause it to frag due to incomplete software
went to uninstall the other two and then went to install our new one on the main computer.I have now lost connection with the wifi to this pc and only this one. (the internet still works on two laptops) unfortunately i need this computer for work and therefore need the internet quite urgently. Perhaps uninstalled something by accident and if so what is it and what can i download?
I lost my network connection after installing Microsoft office 2010.. what can I do to get it back ? I know it is this as i have been fussing with my computer all day.. I have been asked to install a ASA5505 on a home network. The home network has a home broadband connection which the ISP provider supplies with an IP address. This is only for 6 weeks until the new line comes in. I know this is going to cause problems but we have no choice but to impletment this.
My questions are below.
1, We have a home hub supplied by the ISP which is configured by an IP address which is NOT static. Can we not use the ASA 5505 instead. I know that if our ISP change the IP address we have to change the IP address on the 5505.
2, Will we be able to use the home network broadband to create a secure connection?
I have seen this at two sites now: after migrating the site T1 to 10-Mbps Opt-E-MAN and replacing old 10/100 switches with 10/100/1000 switches, users frequently get http connection errors. The error goes away if the user reloads the page--sometimes they have to reload more than once. They never had this problem before.I thought it was due to the large number of 5-port desktop switches infesting the networks (I'm getting rid of them as fast as I can) but it happens even on a PC directly connected to one of the new GigE switches. It does not happen when accessing internal web pages. It looks like a DNS failure -- but nothing has changed in our DNS setup, except that users have a fatter pipe to our DNS servers.

After buying and installing i get no wlan/wifi connection.I do have internet by ethernet, the laptops and ipad sees the wlan/wifi but get no connection? Resetting re-installing manualy or with the wizard doesn't work.
Last week I upgraded the firmware to 1.13NA and ever since, the wireless network has been slooooooow (wired is fine). If the laptop/ipad/phone is in the same room as the router, things are fine. Anywhere else in the house, the speed drops off to almost nothing even though the signal strength is very good. For example: Under the "Speed" section of my "Wireless Network Connection Status" on my laptop, I'm seeing 150.0Mbps in the same room as the router, 25.0 Mbps in the hallway and 1.0 Mbps about 5 steps further away. All the while, the signal strength is showing Excellent.Speakeasy speedtest: Wired 23.36 Mbps, wireless at the end of the hallway, .12 Mbps.
Wireless: 1 DELL windows 7 2 HP windows 7 (HPa and HPb) 3 smartphones
Description:Everything wired always works, the dell wireless always works and HPa always works along with all of the cell phones. HPb will connect to the router always, as in it see's the router and connects using AES security. For between 15-30 minutes everything will work correctly, transfer speeds are fast and everything is working. For no reason the laptop will lose "Internet connection" only, NOT the connection to the router. But all of the over devices continue to work correctly, so i know the router has internet connected.i would have to disconnect from the router and reconnect and that gives me another 15-30 minutes of connection. I have checked a load of stuff, but i cannot figure it out. Here is a netBIOS

My Netgear DGN2200 (Name NetgearCS) won't check for firmware upgrade because it says no connection to internet so unable to connect to the Netgear Servers - Yet this laptop I am currently using (wireless connection is turned off on laptop but not router) is wire connected to this same Netgear router and I have internet connection because I am able to post this enquiry. Note the Netgear DGN2200 router gets its internet connection from my Sky Router and is connected by wire to this Sky Router. FYI my iPhone is connected wirelessly to this Netgear DGN200 router (NetgearCS) and is able to connect to the internet. Do you know why my Netgear DGN2200 cannot check for firmware updates?
My Linksys WAG200G worked like a charm in these 4 years, never had connection problems... the firmware was 1.00.09 One week ago i updated the firmware to last version (1.01.09) and now i have slow connection problems, sometimes it doesn't load web pages... I tried to hard reset and I tried to downgrade to different firmwares found on the web (1.01.01 and 1.01.05)What should I do? Is it possible to find the original 1.00.09 img?
I've been using the WAG54G2 for some time now, recently I set up a range extender and had some issues so one thing I tried was to upgrade the firmware. It was very unclear on this website where to find it (specifically for the G2). I went here but there were 2 files, Annex A or B? [irl].... The instructions are also very unclear on this. But more frustratingly the zip file just contains an ".img" file - no ".bin" as the instructions say. So i tried the manual firmware upgrade using this file and shortly after the message "...whatever you do - do not close the browser or restart the router during the upgrade..." (or similar) the router crashed, so I had to restart it and the browser. Now I think I may have introduced an error as the once perfectly-performing router occasionally drops the internet connection for a few minutes. With my work I need 100% uptime.
I have my dap-1522 connected to my dir-655 in bridge mode. I was having intermitant connection problems with the dap-1522, so I updated the firmware to 1.41 for version A1. Now when I go to change the connection type to dynamic ip and save, it reverts back to static ip, which makes this thing useless for my network. Why won't it save?
I've been having some issues with my DIR-825, it's been intermittently dropping internet connection. This is across multiple OS (Win 7, Ps3 OS, iOS, etc.
I recently upgraded my DIR-655 to firmware version 2.10NA , 17, Oct, 2012.Ever since the upgrade, on a wired connection the router will occasionally not serve pages. This shows up as a DNS error, stating the DNS lookup failed. If I wait a bit and reload the page, it will sometimes resolve itself. If I bypass the router and plug directly into the modem, the problem goes away completely. This is happening on my MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5, any browser (I use Chrome mostly, but also Safari and Firefox have the same issue). This is not happening on my Linux laptop which I use wirelessly, or my iPhone or any of my wireless clients, though the same MacBook occasionally has trouble connecting if I DO try to use it wirelessly (I receive a connection timeout and cannot log on). I'm not certain at this point if the trouble is with the router or the computer, but it only began happening (and happened immediately) after I installed the most recent firmware.
My security setup, if for any reason it matters, is WPA2 with MAC address filtering.
We have three WAP4410N that loses the connection. We've updated the firmware, changed the equipment, repeatedly reconfigured, but the problem persists. Is used the firmware 2.0.5.3 with WPA2 Enterprise Mixed authentication.
I have an WRT54G2, and I recently bought an new notebook and a new mobile phone. The question is none can connect to my wireless network. My linksys had the following configuration:
Firmware 1.0.03 SSID hidden WPA2 personal + AES
My note is an ACER 5552-5664 running Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7, in Ubuntu I can’t use the wireless. In Windows it works fine. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy and do no connect in the wireless.I had an old notebook running only Windows 7 that works fine too.In my father’s home there is an WRT54G and all my equipment connected there. Other problem is that when I tried to update the firmware, it simple don’t update. I’ve downloaded the last firmware file from Cisco’s page.
I have a Linksys WRT54GS (v5) router. I noticed that my firmware was outdated and tried to upgrade it tonight. During the upgrade progress, the browser reset the connection and now cannot access my router configuration pages.I did a hard reset. Then I did the 30-30-30 reset.
The reset worked but no matter what I do, I cannot navigate to any readable page within the router. I get the log in box and successfully log into the router. However, the configuration page(s) are all jumbled and devoid of useful information. It almost looks like a web page that needs flash to be enabled. Lots of colors and boxes but no text or links to other configuration pages
I know it's an old router but it has served me well. I would love to reinstall the old firmware (or new!) and copy my saved configuration file back to the router. Is there a way to access the configuration via a command line interface?
I want to install a windows operating system in my machine but my machine dont have a CD-ROM. so i want to install an OS from using my another PC(Laptop)'s CD-ROM. So is it possible to install OS into my one machine from another different machine(windows-7) via sharing the drive .
I have a question relating to installing lines underground in a conduit.
We've had several lines get hit by lighting which leads to the line being bad, equipment being damaged and so on. We've then installed a new cat6e cable WITH lightning arrestors which were blown almost instantly on the first storm. This is obviously a bad ground issue, and a risk to the equipment.
This being said, I would like very much to run fiber optic cable in this conduit and then convert it to ethernet, but I don't know if fiber is susceptible to lighting like ethernet cable is, OR if there are other methods to prevent this freak of nature crap!
I am looking for the appropriate procedure for connecting an external HDD to a D-Link router with a USB 2.0 port. I am told I need to create a TCP/UDP 19540 port on my system.
