We have three WAP4410N that loses the connection. We've updated the firmware, changed the equipment, repeatedly reconfigured, but the problem persists.Is used the firmware 2.0.5.3 with WPA2 Enterprise Mixed authentication.
View 5 RepliesNow that Comcast is in the process of rolling out IPv^ to their customers nationwide, will there be a firmware update that properly displays the IPv6 /64 address as provided by the cable provider? Currently the only IPv6 address displayed is on the LAN page and is not configurable (greyed out) except for the prefix length. I already have a cable modem that will provide both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as they are rolled out.
Currently running WRVS4400N v2 fw 2.0.2.1
Which I have never done since my dad bought it a few years ago. Now when I try re-installing the Linksys software it gets stuck when trying to identify the network from the cable modem through the router. I've tried every reset feature there is & nothing has worked! I'm I going to need a new router?

Other devices in my home can view this network including my phone, HDTV and laptop. I went ahead & updated my firmware but lost connectivity to my Comcast cable modem. I was leaving for work so I had to pull the router & revert back to my original Linksys router.zBig storm heading my way, figured the wifw ywould need internet to track Hurricane Sandy. Any others have a new firmware waiting for install this AM? Keeping my fingers corossed on this firmware upgrade. I'm hoping it solves the device map issue.

I used to be able to connect up with no problems. I can scan and it sees the connection and i'm able to set the PSP network settings up however when I go to test it it will not connect up.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI keep having no internet connection on my home wireless network, usually when i download newer versions of software, such as iTunes or java. this only happens on my dell inspiron laptop 1525. my other computers in my house work just fine. i have windows vista on laptop. the only error message i get is:The network adapter Bluetooth Network Connection in not connected. the only solution i have found so far is to do a system restore to a previous date, and voila, i have my internet connection back, no problem.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI have tried to upgrade from 2.0.2.1 ever since 2.0.3.3 was released back in July. The firmware image file has remained the same, so I don't think they've ever changed it from the original July release.The download and installation go fine, I even reset to factory defaults. The problem is that several menu selections are broken, and don't allow you to save your choices, i.e, you can't even rename your SSID. You can type it in a Apply, but the fields just reset. I figured this would be fixed with a minor update to 2.0.3.3, but we are now several months since original release and nothing has changed. I have tried this firmware at least three times now. I have not bothered lately, because I don't want to waste another 30 minutes trying it and reverting back to 2.0.2.1 if this newest firmware is not going to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the firmware from 2.0.2.1 to 2.0.3.3 and when the router rebooted the interface was missing many items. On the basic setup page the boxes were missing to set the local ip address, subnet mask and anything below that. On the Wireless Security page the security mode box was half it's size and did not have any options in it. The wireless isolation wpa algorithm, preshared key and key renewal boxes were missing too. I rebooted the router and still got the same thing. I was able to get into administration and reset to the factory default. Once the router rebooted I was unable to get into the interface at all. It wouldn't come up at all. The power and light were blinking but I was unable to connect to it. I tried to connect with 192.168.1.245 and the one I had set manually but no luck with either. I was able send back the router for an exchange with Cisco. I received the new one today. It started up and everything worked great. I decided to try the firmware upgrade again. I went from the firmware version that was on there(I didn't right down) to 2.0.2.1 and the upgrade worked as the other 3 I have. I than tried the 2.0.3.3 upgrade and I got the same thing as the other router I sent back. I have 3 other routers in place that I will not be upgrading at this point. I should not have tried the upgrade again on the one today but being a bank the examiners like everything up to date and it's part of the monthly check.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've spent parts of the past five days buying and exchanging several WAP4410N units because I was not able to achieve anything close to a 300Mbps data rate. I also tried various wireless-n network cards which were known to be configured correctly for 300Mbps speeds with no luck.
The highest speed I was able to achieve was 130Mbps, which is an indication that channel bonding is not in effect.
Then I came across another post in the forums:
WAP4410N does not exceed 130Mbps in N mode at close range.
where the OP mentions recently upgrading to firmware 2.0.4.2, though not treating that as the cause of his problems.
On a lark, I tried downgrading to both firmware 2.0.2.1 and firmware 2.0.3.3, and to my surprise, I was able to achieve the full 300Mbps data rate with both firmware versions.
When I reverted back to 2.0.4.2, I was not able to achieve the full 300Mbps data rate.
So, right now, I downgraded to firmware 2.0.3.3 so I can get the higher data rate, though there are other quirks to deal with.
Furthermore, when I do a web search of reviews, I can see that the inability to achieve the 300Mbps data rate is a huge source of complaints.
My WAP4410N AP is running version 2.0.2.1 firmware which is quite old. There are newer firmware releases available which I'd like to upgrade to (fix the known bugs, etc.).
So I upgrade my firmware from version 2.0.2.1 to any of the following versions:
- 2.0.3.3
- 2.0.4.2
- 2.0.5.3
The AP reboots and my settings are all still there.
I go to change any of the settings I have - DNS, Time Zone, PSK, any field which can be edited and click Save.
The Save takes place and the screen refreshes to the old settings - the new settings don't stay in place after the Save.
I've also factory defaulted the AP prior to the upgrade, upgraded and then been in the same place unable to save any changed settings.

I currently have 3 WAP4410n's (actually, they're WAP4410N-E V02s) that have been really unreliable since I got them - so much so that we've had to cron a restart script on another server which is frankly ridiculous - they've always run firmware version 2.0.2.1.
I've tried updating the firmware to new versions in the past with no success - when I do so, it looks like everything's fine, but when I log back in, the fixed IP address information isn't shown, and the wireless is disabled. I can enable it, but I can't select a channel.
At this point, I have to revert back to the old firmware. I've tried restoring to factory setttings before and after the firmware flash, but this hasn't changed anything.
However, recently I was able to flash firmware 2.0.5.3 onto only one of the routers - it worked fine and all information was displayed and wireless enabled correctly. However on the other two, no matter what I try, the firmware won't upgrade succesfully - it looks like everything's fine, but the fixed IP information isn't shown and wireless/channels are disabled.
When ever my roommates and I turn on or turn off a computer or device to log onto our wireless network that computer or device and all other computers or devices that are on the network lose internet connection for about 3 minutes. After that period then all devices gain access back. We have a Cisco Linksys router, Model number WRT110, it is the Range Plus version. I got it 6 months ago from a friend that had never pulled it out of the box or used it. I used it before moving and it did not have this problem. We are using cable for our internet and have a Motorola Surfboard model number SB5101U for our Modem. We have 2 Dell computers, both about a year old, and a LG blue ray device that connects wirelessly to stream movies
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a linksys AE1000 usb wireless adapter for my desk top computer because there are no phone lines in the room with the computer for me to connect the dsl modem. In the room with the dsl modem there is the Linksys E3000 wirless router. My desktop will randomly lose connection with the router yet other devices that use wifi in the house work fine (ex: ipod touch, android phone, and xbox 360.) i have went through and reset all devices and gave the desk top priority in the network but it hasnt worked. The desktop uses XP.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just got my first wi-fi printer, a V715w. Even though the Wi-Fi light on the front of the printer is green, I very often can't print to the printer. I get a box saying the printer can't communicate with the computer. I would have thought that the green light was signifying that Wi-Fi communications existed. Wrong? Then what does the green light signify? When I check the settings on the printer front panel, it shows the all the correct info, SSID, etc.. Do I need to do something each time before I try to print in order to ensure a wireless connection exists? Shouldn't the printer stay connected to the Netgear dual band wireless N router all the time? The computer, Win XP, sp3 stays connected to the router all the time. I expected the printer to do the same.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter not seeming to be able to save any configurations in 12.2(25)FX, I thought an upgrade would work since it said it didn't recognize my browser or OS but let me continue. I was able to see everything just couldn't save changes.
I updated to 15.0(1)SE3 and everything seemed to be going well. Tried to log back in HTTP (have not set n IP yet since it is still at my house... DHCP seems to be working) and I get a user/password screen that says level_15_access and it won't let me in.
Attempts to log in terminal have been unsuccessful. I can log in my dell switch which I am replacing and my APC units terminal just fine using USB to serial and Ubuntu.
I tried cisco as a password, user and password, admin, administrator no luck.
What is the best way to resolve this, is there a sure fire windows serial program or settings I should use in linux (currently 9600,8,N,1) to connect? I have looked through manuals till I am blue in the face.
My D-Link DIR-300 very often loses connection on wired and wireless connections. It stops connecting to Internet randomly i.e. any URL typed in from the browser times out.I connect various devices such as desktop, laptop, ipad2 over wired and wireless connections and the behavior is the same from all devices when this problem occurs. If I make a direct connection to the DLS modem, it works fine for the whole day, without these issues.I also observed IP address conflict messages and my desktop does not connect to Internet if I am running VPN on my laptop, at the same time, occasionally.When this occurs, I am able to login to the router and can see the WAN status and the DHCP address being allocated to the router. I can even do DHCP release and renew, but that does not fix the problem.

Samsung technicians have not been able to assist after multiple calls. They sent me to a printer repair store which reported they had no problem with the printer working on their wireless network. When I used the setup disk initially it would connect the printer to the network and I could print from my laptop wirelessly, but the connection never continued working more than a few hoursThe router has no problems in connecting to 3 different computers.

I have a WR700N set up in bridge mode so as to provide a wifi signal in far end of our home. I used Bridge so we can tell which router we are connecting to. So we have two SSIDs (MySSID1 and MySSID2) Both with secure log-in. This works fine for about a day, and then disconnects. I then have to mess with the WR700N by plugging it in and out, maybe logging into it and changing something. Then it will work again - for a day
I updated the firmware with no change. Main router is a Dlink 615 with IP of 192.168.0.1. connected to cable modem. TP-LINK is set at default of 192.168.0.254 and gets a wireless signal from dlink.In an attempt to improve situation, I now have both units set to channel 11 and with fixed 20Mhz channel width. b/g/n on TP and g/n on dlink.
My Inspiron N5110 loses the wireless connection frequently. We have many other devices in the house -- laptops, iPhones, etc. -- that continue to work flawlessly through the same router when I lose my connection. The troubleshooter generally leads me to resetting the router, even though, as I have indicated, the router is working properly.

My works laptop and iPhone connect to the same router perfectly.I've seen the following post a few times from pudgyone and tried following it :Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager). Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
In terms of the device manager I can't see a network option, there is network adapters and I've right clicked on Realtek PCIe FE family controller and unticked the box but this hasn't worked.
And with the settings, how do I get to the screen where I can change my router settings in windows 7? I think the firmware is updated remotely by my service provider sky.
Our entire office runs on wireless connections (laptops, printers, desktops, etc) and we have little to no connectivity issues considering. However, we just purchased a new dell laptop. the laptop connected but within 5 seconds immediate loses the connection and reconnects, disconnects, etc.. This is continuous. All other devices, 2 other never-before connected laptops and a tablet have all sucessfully connected without issues...only this new dell laptop does it. The laptop connects and stays connected to all other wifi connections we have tried it with (other corporate wifi and home wifi's). Dell has replaced the wireless card to confirm there was not issue with that (which I was confident there wasn't). Our IT contact suggests buying a new $500 router, but that is a little hard for me to accept seeing that only 1 device is having difficulties (his other reason for this was his concern that he couldn't access something like the router's management tool, or something like that). New Laptop is running W7 OS..

Every hour or so it loses its PPPoE connection to the internet, so that both wired and wirelessly connected computers lose access. My laptop is also thrown entirely off the wireless network all together.

The 5 ghz connects fine for multiple machines however machines on 2.4 simultaneously lose their connection to the internet, sometimes saying it is still connected to the internet when it is not and sometimes losing connection with the router entirely. The 5ghz still works when this happens.
I recently updated my NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 mbps ethernet driver and now my computer wont connect to the internet. In fact, it doesnt even acknowledge that the ethernet chord is plugged in. I am running windows 7 and have had no problems for years now. Since ive had my PC for so long I decided it was time to update, now im at a loss of what to do. I am currently using my laptop to submit this post, as my PC is not a wifi enabled device. I recall having this problem back when I first had this computer made and found a resolution online, (cant seem to find the same site i used back then.) I recall that it had something to do with me using the command prompt. While i have been looking for an answer, I have tried the following with no avail:
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log press enter
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log press enter
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
Restart the computer after.
I have a problem with my E3200 that has happened at least 4 times since I first purchased, installed and configured it. Initially I thought it might be something with Comcast, but a) I never had the problem with my Linksys WRT54G router and b) It seems I can now duplicate the issue by saving a config file and restoring it.The specific issue appears to be somewhat random. At some point the connection to the Internet simply stops for no apparent reason. I am able to ping the router and connect to it. I am also able to drop and renew connections to the cable modem successfully. Furthermore, I can ping my network side of the router, as well as the external address handed to my router by the cable modem, and the cable modem gateway address, but still no connection to the Internet.The only solution to my problem has been to restore the factory defaults to the router and reconfigure it from scratch, which does seem to fix the issue for a time until it occurs again. FYI, I do not use the Cisco connect software because I have several custom port and QOS configs that are necessary for an IP Phone and other hardware on my network.
