View 28 RepliesI recently purchased a new Cisco 881w router (last Friday).I have configured the 'wired' part of the router with little trouble, but the wireless side is proving a little challenging.I have read a number of posts complaining about the firmware version installed on my device being very buggy. The version of the firmware on the wired part is: Version 15.0(1)M8, however, the firmware on the wireless side seems to be: Version 12.4(21a)JA1 - the version reported as buggy. The former has a version date of 2012, with the latter being 2009.I have tried to download a newer version, but the site is asking me to provide a support contract.I wouldn't mind buying a support contract if the thing worked in the first place and I was trying to add some feature after it had been working for a while.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to install an HP Photosmart 7515 eAll-in-One Printer. Works OK in the USB "tethered" mode, as a one-computer printer only. It will not install as a wi-fi device, probable reason being the settings on my (wireless) router, according to the printer's Wireless Network Test Results sheet. I suspect that the firmware on it (3.0.02) is obsolete. What is the latest firmware version for the WRT160N ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried to upgrade from 2.0.2.1 ever since 2.0.3.3 was released back in July. The firmware image file has remained the same, so I don't think they've ever changed it from the original July release. The download and installation go fine, I even reset to factory defaults. The problem is that several menu selections are broken, and don't allow you to save your choices, i.e, you can't even rename your SSID. You can type it in a Apply, but the fields just reset. I figured this would be fixed with a minor update to 2.0.3.3, but we are now several months since original release and nothing has changed. I have tried this firmware at least three times now. I have not bothered lately, because I don't want to waste another 30 minutes trying it and reverting back to 2.0.2.1 if this newest firmware is not going to work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the firmware from 2.0.2.1 to 2.0.3.3 and when the router rebooted the interface was missing many items. On the basic setup page the boxes were missing to set the local ip address, subnet mask and anything below that. On the Wireless Security page the security mode box was half it's size and did not have any options in it. The wireless isolation wpa algorithm, preshared key and key renewal boxes were missing too. I rebooted the router and still got the same thing. I was able to get into administration and reset to the factory default. Once the router rebooted I was unable to get into the interface at all. It wouldn't come up at all. The power and light were blinking but I was unable to connect to it. I tried to connect with 192.168.1.245 and the one I had set manually but no luck with either. I was able send back the router for an exchange with Cisco. I received the new one today. It started up and everything worked great. I decided to try the firmware upgrade again. I went from the firmware version that was on there(I didn't right down) to 2.0.2.1 and the upgrade worked as the other 3 I have. I than tried the 2.0.3.3 upgrade and I got the same thing as the other router I sent back. I have 3 other routers in place that I will not be upgrading at this point. I should not have tried the upgrade again on the one today but being a bank the examiners like everything up to date and it's part of the monthly check.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've spent parts of the past five days buying and exchanging several WAP4410N units because I was not able to achieve anything close to a 300Mbps data rate. I also tried various wireless-n network cards which were known to be configured correctly for 300Mbps speeds with no luck.
The highest speed I was able to achieve was 130Mbps, which is an indication that channel bonding is not in effect.
Then I came across another post in the forums:
WAP4410N does not exceed 130Mbps in N mode at close range.
where the OP mentions recently upgrading to firmware 2.0.4.2, though not treating that as the cause of his problems.
On a lark, I tried downgrading to both firmware 2.0.2.1 and firmware 2.0.3.3, and to my surprise, I was able to achieve the full 300Mbps data rate with both firmware versions.
When I reverted back to 2.0.4.2, I was not able to achieve the full 300Mbps data rate.
So, right now, I downgraded to firmware 2.0.3.3 so I can get the higher data rate, though there are other quirks to deal with.
Furthermore, when I do a web search of reviews, I can see that the inability to achieve the 300Mbps data rate is a huge source of complaints.

Just buy TL-WDR4320 router but its in Chinese language can somebody provide my English Firmware so that i can use this product.
My WAP4410N AP is running version 2.0.2.1 firmware which is quite old. There are newer firmware releases available which I'd like to upgrade to (fix the known bugs, etc.).
So I upgrade my firmware from version 2.0.2.1 to any of the following versions:
- 2.0.3.3
- 2.0.4.2
- 2.0.5.3
The AP reboots and my settings are all still there.
I go to change any of the settings I have - DNS, Time Zone, PSK, any field which can be edited and click Save.
The Save takes place and the screen refreshes to the old settings - the new settings don't stay in place after the Save.
I've also factory defaulted the AP prior to the upgrade, upgraded and then been in the same place unable to save any changed settings.
System details:
Information PID VID: WAP4410N-E V02
Device: WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point with Power Over Ethernet Software Version: 2.0.2.1
I want to upgrade the firmware for the router wrp400 , i am asked Username & Password in order to update the firmware.I tried admin/admin does not work. I tried to reset the router, same thing, I have no ISP user and password.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently have 3 WAP4410n's (actually, they're WAP4410N-E V02s) that have been really unreliable since I got them - so much so that we've had to cron a restart script on another server which is frankly ridiculous - they've always run firmware version 2.0.2.1.
I've tried updating the firmware to new versions in the past with no success - when I do so, it looks like everything's fine, but when I log back in, the fixed IP address information isn't shown, and the wireless is disabled. I can enable it, but I can't select a channel.
At this point, I have to revert back to the old firmware. I've tried restoring to factory setttings before and after the firmware flash, but this hasn't changed anything.
However, recently I was able to flash firmware 2.0.5.3 onto only one of the routers - it worked fine and all information was displayed and wireless enabled correctly. However on the other two, no matter what I try, the firmware won't upgrade succesfully - it looks like everything's fine, but the fixed IP information isn't shown and wireless/channels are disabled.
I need to upgrade my WAG54GS, but there is no firmware in support. My latest firmware is V1.01.03. Where can I download it?

2x WAP 4410N APs running 2.0.3.3
I currently have 1 AP connected to the router via copper. The AP to AP link is over 802.11. I have attached a diagram reflecting the current topology.
The AP-to-AP link will come up utilizing B/G/N mixed mode; however, the connection is basically unusable. About 30% of the traffic is dropped, while the packets that do make it have a consistently volatile latency, anywhere from 15 to 1500 ms. I have had success using G-only and B/G mixed. The link is stable (I have had the best results with B/G). The problem is, I didn't buy the 2nd 4410N to run the G protocol. I would like to connect the APs running either B/G/N (hopefully negotiating to N) or N only. I am wondering if there is a certain configuration I can utilize (perhaps using WDS repeater or bridge versus Wireless Client/Repeater?), or a firmware upgrade set for release that can make this happen for me.

The wireless VAP's are on the same VLAN, and intervlan routing works. Airplay works if the iDevice and the Apple TV are connected to the same access point, but not across the network.

A) Finding a way to turn on the wireless and make it use the same DHCP as wired and setting up a user name/wep password
B) Turning on the GUI that is supposed to be embedded on this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to ask for assistance on how to configure one unit WAP4410N access point to work as repeater to one unit WRT120N wireless router.
As a background, I had one WRT120N already in my house before I bought one WAP4410N as advised by a Linksys guy. I wanted to wirelessly extend the signal of my WRT120N wherever its signal is so low around my house. The WAP4410N should work as repeater to WRT120N.
I already configured WAP4410N to work as repeater by enabling all the choices in its wireless AP mode like the “wireless WDS repeater” and the “wireless client/repeater” but to no avail. I successfully setup a similar scenario before using the old pair of one WRT54G and one WAP54G. I replaced the old pair with the newer one ( WRT120N and one WAP4410N).
Is the tandem of WAP4410N and WRT120N can be configured technically as like as what I wanted? Do I need to upgrade the firmware of both devices? Did I miss something in the configuration?
I need enable WPS function on WAP4410N. This is possible with CLI command #set wps enable. But how I can connect to WAP4410N with CLI?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a WAP4410N as a Access Point and a second WAP4410N as a Wireless WDS Repeater. The settings are as of below.
We couldn't get the mobile users to get connected to the Access Point. But if we uncheck the option "Allow wireless signal to be repeated by a repeater.", it works.
Router: Cisco WRVS4400N secured with WPA2WAP: Cisco WAP4410N . Router was working well but signal too weak in distant rooms. So, purchased a WAP4410N but am unsure about AP configuration. From reading the docs, I understand these to be the relevant choices:
1) Access Point -- Wired connection through built-in Ethernet port. (Not Desired)
2) Wireless WDS Repeater
3) Wireless Client / Repeater (What is difference from WDS Repeater?)
4) Wireless WDS Bridge
Desired Result:Simply extend the network. As a laptop is carried from room to room, laptop should switch to the strongest signal seamlessly, without user doing anything manually. No matter where I am, laptop should see entire network. Also, I prefer that the WAP not require a wired Ethernet connection (that is, I would like the WAP to receive/repeat the router's wireless signal No Ethernet Cable Required).
1. Which of the above 4 settings is best for achieving desired outcome?
2. What should the SSID be on the WAP? Same as on the router?
3. Should both the router and WAP be on the same channel? (I suspect not, but included docs sound like they should be..?)
4. Should both the router and the WAP have the same wireless security setting (WPA2) and pass phrase?
5. On the router, under the Wireless menu --> WDS sub menu there is a check box: "Allow wireless signal to be repeated by a repeater". I assume this must be checked?
6. I understand that Microsoft's built-in Wireless Zero Configuration service does not disambiguate APs which share the same SSID and may not always roam with the strongest signal.*** We need to move from area to area and seamlessly retain the network signal. Is this still a problem in Windows7? Is there a workaround for XP's WZC deficiencies?
Is there anything else I should know? [URL]
We have two WAP4410N access points that are behaving identically. When connected without an ethernet connection, the Power light comes on and stays on. However, as soon as you attach an ethernet cable, whether it's attached to anything on the other end or not, the LEDs on the devices start blinking - first the Power light, then the Wireless light, repeatedly. They continue to do this, even when the ethernet cord is removed.
In addition to this, I cannot ping the IP, even when the WAP directly connected to a PC in the same subnet. I tried a hard reset, but I can't even ping the default IP.
Both WAPS have a very basic configuration. Neither of them are running upgraded firmware.
Would like to report that WAP4410N Access Point cannot disable Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). Tried both firmware 2.0.2.1 (19/JUL/2010) and the latest 2.0.3.3. No Disable option in both firmware.
If you do not change the default IP or default SSID for example, The WPS is disable by default. Once you change default IP and SSID for example, the WPS is then enabled. There is no Disable Option for WPS.
I have a wap4410n. It was performing poorly. Only letting some computers on the wireless while not letting other. I was able to login into the device and I went through each of the settings pages to see if there was anything set wrong. I soon found there was a firmware upgrade available.
So over a wired connection I started the firmware upgrade after waiting 10+ minutes I was unable to reach the device and the web page said it was waiting for the ip address of the device. So I rebooted the device.
I can not ping the device. I can not see it on any subnet. I have tried the reset button multiple times.
The ethernet and power lights are on.
