We have two WAP4410N access points that are behaving identically. When connected without an ethernet connection, the Power light comes on and stays on. However, as soon as you attach an ethernet cable, whether it's attached to anything on the other end or not, the LEDs on the devices start blinking - first the Power light, then the Wireless light, repeatedly. They continue to do this, even when the ethernet cord is removed.
In addition to this, I cannot ping the IP, even when the WAP directly connected to a PC in the same subnet. I tried a hard reset, but I can't even ping the default IP.
Both WAPS have a very basic configuration. Neither of them are running upgraded firmware.
I currently have 1 AP connected to the router via copper. The AP to AP link is over 802.11. I have attached a diagram reflecting the current topology.
The AP-to-AP link will come up utilizing B/G/N mixed mode; however, the connection is basically unusable. About 30% of the traffic is dropped, while the packets that do make it have a consistently volatile latency, anywhere from 15 to 1500 ms. I have had success using G-only and B/G mixed. The link is stable (I have had the best results with B/G). The problem is, I didn't buy the 2nd 4410N to run the G protocol. I would like to connect the APs running either B/G/N (hopefully negotiating to N) or N only. I am wondering if there is a certain configuration I can utilize (perhaps using WDS repeater or bridge versus Wireless Client/Repeater?), or a firmware upgrade set for release that can make this happen for me.
Had this Dlink Air plus router with an wireless adator set up on with a PC running win Vista, but as the PC had problems I tried it with older XP PC and it worked fine for about 5 weeks but tonight the wireless adaptor on my desk has stopped flashing and I could not access the internet so I decided to try the Vista PC and it works fine on there, while it can get me online I would still like to fix the D Link to work with the older PC again, what is the problem as it is a faster more reliable PC
I am having a problem with my ea4500 several times a day the cisco light flashes and I loose internet connectivity. I have tried resetting the router by the reset button and changed ssid name, making two different one for each band, and still I am having a problem. I have read where it could be a firmware update, I have updated (using current version)
We have a cisco services contract with IBM that supplies us access to the usb drivers, firmwares etc, and we have a Cisco 5508 6.x running ~30 Cisco 1252's, some 1231's and (potentially) some 1262's once the firmware update is done.
We have a base-count license(permanent) of 50AP's, no expiry
So I guess my questions are:
1) When flashing the new firmware - do the licenses require any sort of modification, or will they work as per normal
2) Are any serial numbers or codes required to be entered once the 7.0.98 firmware is installed?
3) I assume that the old firmware/config becomes 2nd in line to the primary boot option of the firmware during boot process?
I switch to a new internet provider. which is wireless[Frontier]. my printer is dell V715w the orange light is flashing. provide detailed info to correct
My internet has been dropping out over and over. Im connected via ether cable on my desktop with windows seven to my belkin router however on the router the wireless icon is flashing orange indicating something wrong. I rang my internet provider and they said its not them, when I troubleshooted the problem it came up with DNS server isnt responding. I tried looking through posts and tried restoring my router to factory default but nothing has worked.
I just bought this Linksys E3000 high performance router and all it does is have the LED Power light flashing constantly. I've tried resetting it and leaving it unplugged for a few hours but nothing works. When I try to use the installation software it gets to 25% then says it couldn't find any network

The sun sign on the modem has been flashing for a couple of days but I am still getting the internet. Is there anyway I can find out why its doing this? I have tried rebooting but still starts to flash.
I have a question, I have an ap (cisco 1130) that began to get the status light flashing orange and light Ethernet and radio are off.I did a factory reset and it was ok ... past 3 days the problem has happened again.I changed the ap with a new but the situation remained.I tested the wiring and everything is ok.the switch port is set up correctly.
so my xbox cannot connect to my router via wifi..the password has been tried and tried and restarted and to no avail.. i look towards my model F6d4230-4 and the light labeled "wireless" is flashing red. and yet my laptop connection is just fine. how do i fix the flashing red "wireless light" on my model: f6d4230
Everything was working fine. Changed Nothing on the router. Goes out and now wont broadcast a wireless signal, cant manually reset the router, or get into the settings with 192.168.1.1
Currently I am wired through it with my desktop and its working, but not much else.

My EA4500 is not working. The power indicator light is on but the green and yellow lights on the Internet port are not flashing and the modem the EA4500 is connected to show no activity on that port. Also, the EA4500 is not broadcasting so I can't even connect to it to use Cisco Connect to troubleshoot. I tried resetting it but it did nothing. This has happened before but is usally fixed with a reset.
So I just got this new WRT160Nv2 router. I have (1) wired computer and then my laptop running wireless to it. For the first couple days I had some issues getting consistant internet but after reading some stuff on here I downgraded to the version 8 hardware and it worked GREAT for about 3 days. Now my power light won't stop flashing and I have NO internet connection at all through the router. I have tried to reset the router by holding down the button and also unpluging it but still nothing.
Is it normal for the "CISCO" icon/light to "fast flashing" periodically - not to be confused with the "slow flashing" that the E4200V2 displays when being "power cycled"?
I've been using a WRT120N on a local area connection. The WRT120N acts as a gateway and also to connect to the PPOE connection, via a bridged adsl modem.I've noticed that the LAN port 1 was flashing although the network cable was disconnected from the physical port. I've restarted a few times but to no avail as well. Ever since that, I've noticed that connection through cable are unstable and hard. Now, I'm not able to reset or upgrade the router's firmware. Is there any other way to be done so that I can get this router working as normal again.
i have here Cisco 877 model, when i turn it on the CD light keep flashing, there is no connection to connect to router to configure it,i tried to connect with Consol, and UTP but no vail,i clicked the RESET button btw the consol and ADSL button unfortunatly no vail,
I was replacing a bad cap on my DIr-615 and noticed I have the 635(or 625?) board except there is no USB port or 3rd antenna soldered on.I soldered on a 3rd antenna from an old linksys router but don't know if it's working. If I flash the DIR-635 FW(I'm using DD-wrt) will it work fine and enable the antenna to work? Will having a third antenna even be beneficial at all for range and signal strength?I plan on flashing DD-wrt firmware for the 635 if that makes any difference.
I just purchased a new E4200 to speed up my network and all seems to be fine with the exception of the Cisco light flashing rapidly which indicates a problem.
A customer's ASA is presenting the System LED flashing red.I have already analysed the show tech-support and show environment output: Found nothing, everythink seems OK.Cisco ASA 5580-20 - 8.2.1.Single appliance, no failover, multiple context and transparent mode.
I have a 1921 router with a V.2 T1 wic installed connected to a MPLS circuit. The circuit is down hard and the CD light is flashing. We reseated the WIC card and the circuit recovered for about 30 seconds, then went down and CD began flashing again on the WIC. AL is solid.
My NIC card started flashing last night. The computer was turn off, and the network cable to the cable modem was unplugged. Also, I installed some free software that day and wonder if there is a connection.
How to flash a DIR-601 Rev B1 with any of the custom firmwares out there? I've tried all of them this morning and haven't had any luck. I set the router to recovery mode and tried openwrt, dd-wrt, tomato, and gargoyle. I tried with chrome, firefox, ultra simple web browser, and ie 8. Every attempt resulted in "Upgrade Failed". I know Rev A1 is supported by DD-WRT, just sucks newegg sent me a B1. Looks like several other routers run similar hardware, so it's got to be doable.
I changed the setting from static to dynamic and the switch froze up. all lights on the panel flashed, when they stopped the system light on the left side continued to flash. I tryied unplugging unit as well as depressing the reset for longer than 30 seconds. Unit still the same.
a client of ours bought an ASA5505-BUN-SEC-K9, and it was working fine, for some reason (beyond me) they flashed the memory and configuration in an attempt to fix smoe problems they were facing. Now they are faced with the dilema that the SEC license is no longer visible and usuable, so how can they recover this license knowing that they have bought the bbundle mentioned above?
So, I messed around with my router a little too much and just want to restore it back to the original firmware now. I have a WRT54GS v7 Linksys router and tried to follow this guide to flash the firmware to something a little more useful. After step 7 of that guide, I can't ping my router, can't access the GUI, and have no idea what my router's IP is. If I assign each computer plugged into the router an IP like 192.168.1.2 I can ping them, so the router is still functioning somewhat. I'm plugged into my modem right now to get on the Internet.
Right now, my power light is off, my DMZ light is off, my WLAN light is off, but the other lights turn on if I plug a cord into its port (plug a computer into port 1, port 1's light comes on). When I do an ipconfig /all i get this. I doubt the web interface still works, but if I could at least get the router's IP, couldn't I use tftp and put the firmware on that way?
I have DSL 8Mbps DL and 768kbps UL,Internet -> Modem -> Cisco Router -> Firewall -> Switch Core - > Multiple switches like sfe2000p,CiscoRouter: i use port gig0/1 for PPPoE and i use port gig0/2 for LAN static,Router port gig0/2 with 122.54.144.153/29 connected directly to Firewall port13 with 122.54.144.154/29,i want 122.54.144.153/29 will my default gateway,Please include no limit bandwidth, filter etc at router, Firewall will be DHCP Server and control the bandwidth, filtering etc and the client computer should get 8Mbps.
