D-Link DIR-601 :: Flashing A Rev B1 With Any Of Custom Firmware?

Jun 6, 2012

How to flash a DIR-601 Rev B1 with any of the custom firmwares out there?  I've tried all of them this morning and haven't had any luck.  I set the router to recovery mode and tried openwrt, dd-wrt, tomato, and gargoyle.  I tried with chrome, firefox, ultra simple web browser, and ie 8.  Every attempt resulted in "Upgrade Failed".  I know Rev A1 is supported by DD-WRT, just sucks newegg sent me a B1.  Looks like several other routers run similar hardware, so it's got to be doable.

D-Link DIR-615 :: Flashing DD-WRT Firmware For 635 Onto It

Jan 16, 2013

I was replacing a bad cap on my DIr-615 and noticed I have the 635(or 625?) board except there is no USB port or 3rd antenna soldered on.I soldered on a 3rd antenna from an old linksys router but don't know if it's working.If I flash the DIR-635 FW(I'm using DD-wrt) will it work fine and enable the antenna to work? Will having a third antenna even be beneficial at all for range and signal strength?I plan on flashing DD-wrt firmware for the 635 if that makes any difference.

Router Power Light Off After Flashing Firmware

Jul 31, 2011

So, I messed around with my router a little too much and just want to restore it back to the original firmware now. I have a WRT54GS v7 Linksys router and tried to follow this guide to flash the firmware to something a little more useful. After step 7 of that guide, I can't ping my router, can't access the GUI, and have no idea what my router's IP is. If I assign each computer plugged into the router an IP like 192.168.1.2 I can ping them, so the router is still functioning somewhat. I'm plugged into my modem right now to get on the Internet.

Right now, my power light is off, my DMZ light is off, my WLAN light is off, but the other lights turn on if I plug a cord into its port (plug a computer into port 1, port 1's light comes on). When I do an ipconfig /all i get this. I doubt the web interface still works, but if I could at least get the router's IP, couldn't I use tftp and put the firmware on that way?

TP-Link 3G/3.75G Router :: TL-MR3420 Creating A Custom BIN File?

Model : TL-MR3420
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.12.8 Build 110418 Rel.43954n
ISP : SBB - Serbia Broadband[/COLOR]

I have been usung TP link for years, and now I want to use the 3G modem option the 3420 offers. But in the list of countries I can't find Serbia, and I can't find the ZTE MF 195. I found that on the TP Links site list of compatible modems there is Other countries, but in the modem list there isn't such an option, and since there is also no ZTE MF 195, and there isn't a "Telenor" entry for the service provider.I tried telling the router that I'm from another country, and setting up some of the parameters manually, but "surprisingly" it didn't work. Is there or could someone make a program which makes BIN files specific to the modem that isn't on the list, or is there a place where the BIN files grow?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Internet Earth Icon Flashing Forever?

Jan 4, 2011

I read somewhere this is to show that the connection is unstable? My modem works fine, and it works fine being plugged directly into my PC.

But going through the modem, I am noticing some drops in speed and spikes of high latency. This icon - the little earth/internet icon - has never flashed for a long period of time before. I've power cycled it (unplugged for over 5 mins) and it persists.

Does it need a firmware upgrade? Is it something I did? Faulty hardware?

Discover Custom Internal IP Of Router?

Jan 21, 2012

Using a command prompt, how do I discover the internal IP of an unused router, which I set to a custom value and forgot? The router is not currently in use for internet access. I would like to access the control panel of the router without resetting it.I attached my netbook to the router with an RJ45 cable and disabled the netbook's wireless adapter to avoid conflicts with my current network. Using an elevated command prompt, I did an "ipconfig /release", rebooted and ran "ipconfig /all", but the gateway entry is blank. An "arp -a" returns 169.254.190.120 as the only interface. A "netstat -a" returns 169.254.190.120:xx...'s, 127.0.0.1:xx...'s, and 0.0.0.0:xx...'s, but no router internal IP address.Is there a way discover the attached device without resetting?

D-Link DIR-655 :: Upgrade Firmware To 1.35 NA From 1.21?

Mar 28, 2012

I have a DIR-655 Rev A4.I followed this forum in the past when there were many problems with firmware upgrades beyon 1.21. Because of this I never upgraded and was told to be satisfied that I can still stay with 1.21 as upgrades caused problems for a number of people.Everything still seems fine with 1.21 except the Shareport utility often does not pickup the printer connection upon booting to Windows Vista. I can always work around this by Disable and then Enable. It will then always find the printer. It is a minor annoyance however.Should I still stay with 1.21 or is upgrading to 1.35 NA recommended ? If I upgrade to 1.35 NA is there a downgrade path back to 1.21 if the upgrade does not work well ?

D-Link DIR-615 :: Can't Update Firmware

Nov 12, 2011

I have a DIR-615 router, hardware rev. C1 running firmware v. 3.10, dated 4/17/09.  I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get this router to properly forward ports for a bit torrent application, but it not only won't do that, it doesn't want to save DHCP reservations and it doesn't want to recognize my computer on the LAN if I set a static IP address (although it does allow my computer to connect and get an internet connection).  From the D-Link website, the description of firmware update 3.12NA looks like it might take care of these problems, but I can't get the router to update.  When I log into the router and check for updates, it returns a message saying the latest update is v. 3.11, dated 9/15/09.  However, when I attempt to download the update, nothing happens.  The D-Link website offers update 3.11NA (4/20/09), 3.12NA (3/8/10), and 3.13NA (9/30/10).  Why does the website offer me a different update than the router itself?  I downloaded 3.13NA and unzipped the folder, which has a text file and a .bin file; I presume the latter is the update.  However, when I browse to this file and attempt to upload it to the router, nothing happens.  How the heck do I update this router?

D-Link :: DIR-825 B1 - Firmware Version

Feb 14, 2013

Writing this hoping to see how DLink intends to respond to this very large hole. As someone who works in security this is 2 week old news to me but is probably new to everyone else "Hopefully not dlink devs".

So the DIR 825 along with millions of other routers are vulnerable to an outside upnp exploit basically means somebody from outside can root your router and for example open up whatever ports they want. Upnp has its own issues but it useful for those who don't want to open up a port every time some app might need a specific port but was never meant to be accessible from outside your network, Until now.

This is not some bizarre proof of concept or something that is even hard to pull off and what it would give is access to your entire private network and everything that might entail. You can test if your router is vulnerable at this link. It's owned by Steve Gibson. Many of you probably know of him, Somewhat of a celebrity in the security world. There is a upnp exposure test you can do right off the main page. It also explains whats happening and even shows you the code being used, Quite fascinating actually.

D-Link DIR-615 :: What Is The Latest Firmware For It

Dec 23, 2011

I bought the DIR-615 router from Futureshop awhile ago because my Linksys WRT54G router keeps dropping connection every couple of hours. I have to unplug the router and re-plug it in order for it work again. On the DIR-615 admin page, it states Firmware Version: 5.10. Is this the latest firmware?

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware because I still experience connection drops from time to time (but not as much as I did with WRT54G)... it usually occurs when multiple devices are pulling signal from the router (for ex. PC#1 + PC#2 + laptop). I've just disabled "Short GI" as mentioned in another forum post here.

Cisco Routers :: RV 220W - Custom Services And QOS

Aug 9, 2012

I have some questions regarding the addition of custom services and their use in QoS for RV routers (I use the RV220W). Suppose I create a custom service as:
Name: My Service
Port: TCP 60000

1. Does this port number refer to the port number used by my LAN computer or the port number on the other side e.g. some computer on Internet I am using this service to connect to? Some services use the same port number on the side that initiates the service and the receiving end but there are services that use different ports for the initiating and receiving end. So, what is the meaning of the port number when creating a custom service?

LAN Computer : (port TCP 60000) <----> Internet computer : (some TCP port, not necessarily 60000) - or -
LAN Computer : (some TCP port, not necessarily 60000) <----> Internet computer : (TCP port 60000) ?

2. Suppose I create a QOS profile binding configuration with respect to this custom service for a specific IP address on my LAN. QOS is applied to the outgoing network traffic only. How is this profile going to work?

A. Applied to traffic originating from my LAN device with the specified IP address and port TCP 60000 - or -
B. Applied to traffic originating from my LAN device with the specified IP address to another computer's port TCP 60000 ?

D-Link DIR-655 :: 1.35na Firmware Does Not Allow Downgrade

Feb 26, 2011

i just thought i would try 1.35na firmware and i decided i wanted to go back to 1.33na, well you cant  BE FOREWARNED.

i don't know what is the big deal about stopping you from downgrading your firmware that they lock you out of it. it never used to be a problem, pretty sure i could downgrade from 1.34na to other 1.3 firmware.

the reason for allowing people to downgrade is incase the new firmware does not work properlly. not allowing your customers to do this is just asking for trouble not to mention alienating your customers.

at work we downgrade firmware to the firmware that passed our quality tests, it also makes it easier to support them when they are all the same.

1.35 works well so i dont have to buy another router. if it doesn't you can be sure it wont be another dlink thats for sure.

My firmware version 2.00NA (shipping version) is still working well.

When I selected 'Check online for any latest firmware' using the existing firmware, I got a message that that v2.07 (dated 2012-2-21) is available.  Until now the router's check has always reported that I have the latest version.

I need to find out from other persons whether or not v2.07 is a real upgrade or is it full of bugs.  I tried it once a long time ago and Shareport didn't work at all.  Immediately I re-installed v2.00 and I've been pleased with the original shipping version.

What's the scoop on v2.07?
