Aug 30, 2012Now that Comcast is in the process of rolling out IPv^ to their customers nationwide, will there be a firmware update that properly displays the IPv6 /64 address as provided by the cable provider? Currently the only IPv6 address displayed is on the LAN page and is not configurable (greyed out) except for the prefix length. I already have a cable modem that will provide both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as they are rolled out.

WNR1000v2 PSP Unable To Connect To Updated Netgear Firmware
Dec 30, 2011Ever since I updated my wireless NETGEAR WNR1000v2 Firmware to its current Version V1.1.2.28NA I'm unable to connect to the internet with my PSP Firmware version of 6.60. I used to be able to connect up with no problems. I can scan and it sees the connection and i'm able to set the PSP network settings up however when I go to test it it will not connect up.

Asus AC66U Don't Want To Change Firmware On Router
May 10, 2013I just got a new Asus AC66U. When I play games I have severe stuttering now using the 5Ghz band. I ran a ping to the router and every 20-30 seconds it jumps up from 1ms to 100-900 for 2-4 pings then backs down. I tried running ping test on two computers with the same result.I tried fixing the 5Ghz to a specific channel. I've tried upper channels, lower channels, I've adjusted the channel width from 20-80Mhz. I've changed the preamble from long to short, I've upped the transmit power, I've turned off PnP. I haven't been able to change a setting that made a difference.
I did notice that the lag spikes were much less frequent in the morning when I tested, before everyone was using the internet, although I saw an occasional ping spike. They must be related to router load.i don't want to change the firmware on the router in case I have to return it. I spoke with Newegg and they're going to send me a replacement router. I doubt that it's the hardware, but this will be a good way to know for certain that it's not the hardware. Once I get the new router I'll test everything again including trying the ping with a LAN cable.

As far as my laptop goes, what hardware (internal wireless adapter/etc) needs to be updated with latest drivers. Does the BIOS need to be updated? I am running Windows XP Pro. I have played with this for days and am done doing so until the laptop is totally made 'current". I will hard wire laptop to router to do these updates.

Jan 10, 2011we recently updated all of our WLC's to 7.098 and it all went smoothly, controllers rebooted and AP's updated their firmware and rebooted OK.One WLC (4402) which was working fine since the update now has no AP's associated. The AP's were all configured to run in HREAP mode and are on remote sites within our WAN. I have checked that all policies and ports are still open (none have changed anyway) but the AP's can not join with the contoller.The log from an AP trying to join with the WLC.

Oct 26, 2011I've searched high and low across the wide web, but I have found no real answer to this problem;Recently, I bought the DIR-655 because the gods of thunder decided to euthanize my old WAP. The original plan was to mate this up with a Tilgin VOOD-modem (modem and router in one; a heap of s**** in my uneducated eyes) in order to make networking within my appartment somewhat easier.
Got it safely indoors, plugged it in as the manual told me, and got it going (my old WAP was also a D-LINK, so the interface was somewhat familiar). Checked cabled connection, worked fine, and I got the wireless-bit to function as well. But then I, or my Xbox 360 to be right on the money, encountered a little problem. As I understand from a little bit of research, I found out that this was a dreaded phenomenon known as
"Moderate NAT"
Before I got the old WAP indoors, I used the onboard router in the TILGIN to do the switching. I used to have this problem back then also, but solved it by opening some of the ports on the modem. Then it switched to "Open NAT", and worked like a charm. Now however, I have ran into a problem I can't dig myself out of. I have tried DMZ, opening numerous ports all the way to the full monty, but I can�t get that NAT to wander into the more acceptable range. And then it became clear that the internet on my laptop was somewhat amputated as well; simple youtube-videos became harder to load (sometimes it actually had to stop for extended streaming!), and this is not acceptable on a 20 mbt DSL-line!
