D-Link DIR-615 :: How To Do Mac Clone To Change IP
Jun 2, 2011
how to do Mac cloning on a Dlink Router, I know I have to go to 192.168.0.1 admin page but from there, I dont know anything. I wanna clone my mac address so I can change my ip address. After I clone it, then what do I do to change my IP? Please dont say stuff like you dont need to mac clone to change IP. Mac cloning seems to be the only way to change my IP. EDIT: I changed my Mac, cloned it. Then I resetted my router but the I couldnt surft the internet anymore. I had to change back to my old MAC to get internet back.
I have an arris modem from the ISP company and it works good, bat it is NO wireless model. So I have purchased arris WITH the wireless capability myself and ISP refused to support it so my guess that I need somehow to clone their old modem to my new one.
i am connecting my laptop pc to my hdtv via a wireless gizmo. the gizmo has a dongle transmitter connected to the pc via the hdmi port and the usb port for power, on the receiver hdtv end the receiver box connects to the hdtv through the hdtv hdmi port and to the a/c power on the wall, all this is to replace a hdmi to hdmi cable connection. i hope i,m clear so far. now i want to clone my pc screen to my hdtv screen i.e. i want to see the exact same image or video on both my pc screen and on my hdtv screen and here lies my problem, as i stated in my original post, i am unable to do so using the fn/f8 keys or the microsoft key/p options i have on my pc keyboard. using these keys i can see a video on either the pc laptop screen or on the hdtv screen but not on both at the same time which is what cloning or duplicating means? the internet posts related to this issue recommend using my nvidia control panel to achieve cloning, i have also tried that approach with no sucess because when i go there, i do not have choice for cloning, it seems it doesnt recognize or detect a second monitor?
I'm having an issue with a cloned vm of our ACS. We are moving it to a different location. I was able to clone it and get it back on the network, but I can't authenticate to it from any of my switches. I do have an older version:5.2.0.26
With other devices, including Cisco Aironet, I've saved a lot of time in the past by cloning the config from one WAP to another. This is for when I have to set up 2 or more WAP's on the same network, that share 98% of the same settings.I was wondering if anyone's ever tried to do this with Linksys devices, and in my case two E4200v2's in bridge-mode (WAP-only). Will it let you Restore a config that came from a different device? (same hardware version of course)Obviously I would change the hostname, devicename & IP address to make them unique. But the rest of the settings would basically stay the same.
I'm talking about E4200's that are being used as bridge-mode access points, and so typical router functions like DHCP server are disabled on both.
I have the ea6500 and was wondering what the DHCP server is for? I turned it off and everything seems to be able to connect without it. Am I missing something? Also, when I disable clone my pc's MAC addy, I can't connect to the internet. (My computer is hard wired to the router).
I have a DIR-655 connected to a linksys switch via lan to lan. The 655 is on the other end of the house. I can not connect to the 655 to enable policies or make changes. I can connect for internet, thats all. I was told that I had to have the router IP close to the linksys (192.168.1.1). I wanted to change the ip address of the 655 to 192.168.1.2 . Every time I do this I can no longer connect to the 655 via lan. I have rebooted my computer and the 655. Nothing. I have to hard reset just to connect to it and start all over again.
I've searched high and low across the wide web, but I have found no real answer to this problem;Recently, I bought the DIR-655 because the gods of thunder decided to euthanize my old WAP. The original plan was to mate this up with a Tilgin VOOD-modem (modem and router in one; a heap of s**** in my uneducated eyes) in order to make networking within my appartment somewhat easier.
Got it safely indoors, plugged it in as the manual told me, and got it going (my old WAP was also a D-LINK, so the interface was somewhat familiar). Checked cabled connection, worked fine, and I got the wireless-bit to function as well. But then I, or my Xbox 360 to be right on the money, encountered a little problem. As I understand from a little bit of research, I found out that this was a dreaded phenomenon known as
"Moderate NAT"
Before I got the old WAP indoors, I used the onboard router in the TILGIN to do the switching. I used to have this problem back then also, but solved it by opening some of the ports on the modem. Then it switched to "Open NAT", and worked like a charm. Now however, I have ran into a problem I can't dig myself out of. I have tried DMZ, opening numerous ports all the way to the full monty, but I cant get that NAT to wander into the more acceptable range. And then it became clear that the internet on my laptop was somewhat amputated as well; simple youtube-videos became harder to load (sometimes it actually had to stop for extended streaming!), and this is not acceptable on a 20 mbt DSL-line!
I play my xbox 360 wired threw my DIR-655 router and when I play online I notice on most games that my nat is strict. Does anyone know how I can change my nat on my router.
After my dir-655 recently bought the farm, I picked up a NIB 601 at a local computer mall for about $20. The drawback is that "local" for me means that the router is in Chinese.
Is there any way for the web interface language to be changed to English?
Is it possible to change from WPA2 to WEP security without making international phone calls to Peggy? While I was away from home our WIFI went down, my daughter was able to get the network back but in the process she changed the security. The biggest problem is that my G3 iBook can see the network but can't sign in.
So I'm on the 100mbps virgin fibre optic broadband, and for the past couple of days, every now and again my speed drops drastically. It's not the Internet, because I've tested it on my laptop both wireless and plugged in. Even my phone and iPad are getting higher speed.
When I first got the internet(About a week ago) my download speed was 100+ mbps, but now my Link speed is constantly at 10mbps, even if I set my NIC to 1gbps full duplex, I've tried disabling and re enabling, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, updating drivers. Restarting the router, starting it in Modem mode.
The device is working just fine but I just want to change the password but it failed. I opened my web browser enter 192.168.0.1 then logged into the admin account then put in the new password for both admin and user, clicked save setting...it asked for rebooting the device I let it rebooting. Everything went fine. I was able to log in both the admin and user acc with the new password. The only problem is that my PC can still connect to the network using the old password? I expect that the PC will need to use the new password to access the network but this is not the case.

Just bought the router in Hong Kong to connect to my Mac. Typed in [URL] and everything is in Chinese with no link that I can see to change it to English. Is it possible to change the language?
Had to reset out DIR-655 router. This ended up changing our network password. Unfortunately, my DAP-1522 was not informed of this change and it will not connect to my Directv receiver now. I attempted to log into the bridge to change the password and it will not let me in. I attempted to reset the DAP in hopes that I would just be able to start over from scratch, but no dice (Assuming that I did it correctly)
I am having a problem which I can't seem to find a way around. I have a DIR-615 E3 that I'm unable to get IPv6 to work properly on.I'm connecting to IPv6 over PPPoE, and I'm unable to change the 'IPv6 LAN Address' to an IP my provider has given me. They've provided a native address in the 2607:: range, however on the router it's stuck at a 6to4 IP which is NOT what they've given me (2002:CEF8:8B79:: IP).
I'm thinking of buying a new router that either has better IPv6 support, or one that supports OpenWRT and working my way through that.
I've been having issues with my DIR-655 - the speeds are super slow. In the past, I've been able to restart the modem, and my speeds would be acceptable, but now a restart doesn't change the speeds I'm getting from speed test.net. I know it has to do with the router, because when I directly connect to the modem, my speeds are great.
-Speeds WITH router: -Speeds WITHOUT router:
And like I said, in the past I could restart the router, to get similar speeds to just my modem, but it doesn't work that way anymore.
I would like the ability to change the default password. Currently, when I change the default password and save the config via the web interface, neither the original password, or the new password work. I am forced to reset the device to the default config to regain access to the device.
i am using a D-Link 2730u, was trying to change the username and password for the router but it keeps saying that ACS URL is required, there is a place where i can put one but even after goggling it for a bit i didn't understand what should i put in there?

I am American living in China. My Chinese reading is not so good, I am still learning. The interface for my router comes up in Chinese. Is there a way to change the language to English? So far, all I can do is get the set-up interface through IE, but I can not set it up!
I bought this wireless router the other day in order to get internet access on my Nintendo Wii. I set it up using the CD and followed all the instructions (made a password, wrote down the key, etc.) - and my Wii CAN detect it, but when I type in the key on the Wii I get an error message. I looked online and they said the way to fix that specific error is to "change the channel" on the router to 1 or 11. (It is currently 6). I type in my IP into the browser like I'm supposed to (the default IP of the router), but ALL the options on the page are greyed out and nothing is click-able. Here's a screenshot
I am using D-Link DIR-615, I need to ask is it possible that i change the error page "Forbidden Web Access" ? I have blocked some websites and i dont want ppl know that it is blocked by router because in D-Link default error msg it is clearly mentioned that " This page is not included in the router's Allowed Web Site List". Is it possible that i redirect error page to some other site? or change error message?
