D-Link DIR-615 :: Configuration Page Is All Greyed Out - Can't Change Channel
Nov 22, 2010I bought this wireless router the other day in order to get internet access on my Nintendo Wii. I set it up using the CD and followed all the instructions (made a password, wrote down the key, etc.) - and my Wii CAN detect it, but when I type in the key on the Wii I get an error message. I looked online and they said the way to fix that specific error is to "change the channel" on the router to 1 or 11. (It is currently 6). I type in my IP into the browser like I'm supposed to (the default IP of the router), but ALL the options on the page are greyed out and nothing is click-able. Here's a screenshot

Oct 11, 2011I have recently purchased an Xbox slim for my son which has a built in wireless adapter. Since he has had this he gets a poor connection on Xbox live, the previous Xbox had the external adaptor which worked fine but sold it thinking he would not need it with the new improved built in wi-fi.I have also tried my xbox in his room and there was no difference, so we know its not the Xbox, various other pieces of kit like boosters etc. I have a Netgear WNR 1000v2 and have not the foggiest idea how to change channels.

Jan 12, 2013I just purchased a Linksys Cisco E900 router and hooked it up to my Internet cable. The Internet service that my ISP is giving me is PPPoE, fiber link (100 Mbps).
I did the set up. I connected my computer (via Ethernet cable) and my laptop (via wireless) to the router.
Now... there are other wireless networks around me. The WI-Fi channel my router fixed to is 1, apparently - saw it from the settings. But I can't find a menu anywhere in the router's gateway (192.168.1.1) from where I can change the wireless channel, wireless bandwidth etc.

It remains at channel 1, and I simply can't alter it.This is strange, because in earlier firmware versions, I was able to change the channel without any problems at all. I would like to continue to use this firmware version. How can I solve this problem?

I've also tried this on a 1242AG the same thing happens. I then went to the controller and tried to change the RF channel there and it took the change. I pressed apply logged out went back to NCS made the change under custom and again it reverted back after I pressed the save button. I went back into the controller and the channel had also reverted back even thought it gave the impression it took the changel.

Is it possible to change or configure which port-channel interface numbers are allocated for internal use by NX-OS?
Unfortunatly I wasn't able to find a solution for this issue in the offical Nexus documentation, the search function of this forum or Google. If I did miss something or didn't look careful enough at the Nexus docs, I'm also happy with RTFM (... fine manual) responses and links to the info :-)

Jul 14, 2012I live in a Townhome complex so inSSIDer displays a lot of wireless activity. I have noticed that many of the routers channels are listed as 6 + 2, 4 + 1, etc., while show only a single channel. I have been able to "temporarily" replicate this by setting the Channel Width on my DIR-655, by setting channel width to auto, and when I am successful it displays a speed of 300, both in my task bar and in inSSIDer. However, that is usually short lived and the channel for my router reverts back to a single channel and the displayed speed drops to 130 or 144. My neighbor's Netgear is rock solid at displaying dual channels. Well, that and besting my signal strength. :-)
I have the router manually to channel 8 because none of the routers, judged by their displayed strength, use it.So, I guess my question is; how do I stop my DIR-655 from dropping back to using a single channel, which I interpret 20MHz, even though it is set on auto?

Feb 27, 2013I am building a new network and intended on using the min-link feature on my port-channels between a 3750-X series switch and Nexus 4k.
However reading further into this it seems this feature is only supported on higher end models. I cannot find any reference to the min-links feature in the 3750-X configuration guide. Is this an available feature?
The 3750-X model is WS-C3750X-24T-L running IOS 12.2(55)SE3 IP Services
My thoughts is that the is only an LACP supported feature so I may not see the command until I have entered an LACP specific command on the port-channel but unfortunately I do not have a 3750X to verify this on at present.

Nov 8, 2011We have a couple of IBM blade chassis with Nexus 4000I 10G blade switch in it. Four 10G ports from each Nexus 4000I switch are bundled into a port channel and connected to Nexus 7K. On the 4k end, one port in the port channel is doing down and coming up as an idividual port. After few minutes it is going down again and coming up as a port-channel member port. I can connect for internet, thats all. I was told that I had to have the router IP close to the linksys (192.168.1.1). I wanted to change the ip address of the 655 to 192.168.1.2 . Oct 26, 2011I've searched high and low across the wide web, but I have found no real answer to this problem;Recently, I bought the DIR-655 because the gods of thunder decided to euthanize my old WAP. The original plan was to mate this up with a Tilgin VOOD-modem (modem and router in one; a heap of s**** in my uneducated eyes) in order to make networking within my appartment somewhat easier.
Got it safely indoors, plugged it in as the manual told me, and got it going (my old WAP was also a D-LINK, so the interface was somewhat familiar). Checked cabled connection, worked fine, and I got the wireless-bit to function as well. But then I, or my Xbox 360 to be right on the money, encountered a little problem. As I understand from a little bit of research, I found out that this was a dreaded phenomenon known as
"Moderate NAT"
Before I got the old WAP indoors, I used the onboard router in the TILGIN to do the switching. I used to have this problem back then also, but solved it by opening some of the ports on the modem. Then it switched to "Open NAT", and worked like a charm. Now however, I have ran into a problem I can't dig myself out of. I have tried DMZ, opening numerous ports all the way to the full monty, but I can�t get that NAT to wander into the more acceptable range. And then it became clear that the internet on my laptop was somewhat amputated as well; simple youtube-videos became harder to load (sometimes it actually had to stop for extended streaming!), and this is not acceptable on a 20 mbt DSL-line!

N450 Router And WAP- Same Channel Range Of Different?
Oct 5, 2012I have my buffalo N450 router working great and have installed a Belkin 600HD as a wired WAP. Now I am trying to fine tune them to get the greatest coverage and throughput. What do you guys recommend in terms of channel selection. Should I try to cover different channels with each router or keep them the same? I have been using inSSIDer to try and watch the strength and width of various settings. It seems I get better strength (at least according to Windows 7) when I have the channels set the same.
