D-Link DIR-615 :: Internal Server Error 500 - Change Router DNS To OpenDNS
Apr 4, 2013
Lately, Ive been trying to change my router DNS to OpenDNS. Somehow, after changing it, I couldnt access the router page at 192.168.0.1, getting the error 500 message. I unplugged and plugged the router with no effect. Im using a dlinkddns.com dynamic IP, and have a few ports forwarded for my DVR. The router model is DIR 615. want to change the DNs for speed and filtering purposes.
I've just recently started to get this error, and I'm not sure why (I have no expierence with routers whatsoever). I have noticed, that whenever this happens though, that my NAT type for my xbox goes strict.
I have a problem with my router, WRT54G2. I was upgrading my firmware when my computer froze up, so I had to exit. Afterwards, I could not connect to the web based setup page anymore. I did a factory reset and installed it again with Network Magic and set up my wireless key. It is working now however, I cannot get into the web based setup page. Whenever i go to 192.168.1.1 and enter my info, it just says 500 Internal Server Error. I was always able to access this page, now I can't, so I assume it's not working because of the interrupted firmware update. I do alot of mac filtering and I limit the amount of IP addresses my router gives out so if anyone hacks my security key, they still won't be able to connect, so accessing my router setup page is important to me. I have reset (hold down reset button for 30 secs - 1 minute) the router many times and still nothing. I mean, the router still works. My brother and I can still connect with our laptops, I just can't get to the web based setup page.
i'm currently studying at a college which has a website with a student intranet that is available to log in from any computer. So far it has been working well and I can log in on my home laptop and upload documents and look at presentations etc. Today for no reason when I try and log in I get the message Error Code 500: Internal Server Error and the webpage does no appear.I have had no problems previously and this has only happened today and yesterday, I went down to the college and accessed the website fine from the computers in the library but still no joy from my home computer.
My isp seems to be using a Transparent DNS proxy and I tested DeleGate on a windows PC and opendns works but I would like to set my router to forward all 53 udp to 5353 udp on to 208.67.222.220 so that opendns can work on ipod, ipad and smartphone etc, I have tried to use the following command to set the router to forward from port 53 to 5353 but no luck:
my laptop sometimes gives a 500 internal server error when I try to go to any website. our other wireless devices such as our phones don't do this while the laptop is.
I am using D-Link DIR-615, I need to ask is it possible that i change the error page "Forbidden Web Access" ? I have blocked some websites and i dont want ppl know that it is blocked by router because in D-Link default error msg it is clearly mentioned that " This page is not included in the router's Allowed Web Site List". Is it possible that i redirect error page to some other site? or change error message?
I'm trying to set up opendns on my DIR-825, firmware v2.05. Under the Setup/Network Settings I set the primary and secondary DNS Server IPs to the ones from [URL] and save the settings and they don't stick.I have also unchecked the "Enable DNS Relay". Well, tried it on and off and neither pad a difference.
Just bought first wireless router, when i insert CD and start setup, after a few seconds i get Error 301: internal error. i have rebooted and still no luck. I've tried going to 192.168.1.1, i got in one time but didn't understand half the stuff. now i can't go back into that page.
One of the companies I work for uses a DIR 655 router. I'm having some trouble using FTP there.Initially the problem was that FTP software would hang or give errors when trying to change directories on the remote server. This problem went away when I switched from passive FTP to Active FTP.Now using Active FTP, the files appear to be uploaded with no problem. However, on closer inspection, the uploaded file has 0 bytes on the remote server.
We are uploading from a Windows 7 machine and uploading to our Web Hosting Company's Windows Server. I've actually written the one piece of software that is showing this problem but it uses a widely known open-source FTP library written in .NET. I've never encountered either of these problems with my software until I encountered the DIR-655.The other FTP software client I've tried is FileZilla. It has the same problem, 0 bytes files when using Active FTP.
One solution I've seen on DSLReports was to disable the Stateful Packet Inspection part of the firewall (known as SPI). This is really not a good solution for two reasons. Number one, I do not have access to the router's firmware/ configuration. Number 2, the company has a DIR-655 because they want the additional security. If we're going to disable SPI it just defeats one of the major purposes of owning the DIR-655.
I just bought a Linksys 320N router to replace another competitors router. I am trying to connect to my VPN server from outside my network. I have the external ip to my network. I setup the new 320N router just like the old router. set dmz ip to internal ip of vpn server, set port forwarding to 1723, both, internal ip of vpn server, I have a way to test the vpn while i am inside my network. So, I can watch the VPN server log and see the request come into the server and it times out with the Linksys 320 N hooked up. If I have the old router hooked up, the vpn establishes a connection.
I had an Linksys WRT54GS and this wireless is connected to a switch in an internal enviroment but i want connect guest users without them see my internal network and can't access to any internal server....how can i configure this?
Currently I have an ASA setup as a Firewall with 1 outside interface and 2 inside interfaces. Initially, the Guest interface was setup to receive DHCP from the ASA and everything was working. I'm adding router and a server for the guest interface and what I'm trying to accomplish now is the following: ASA 5505 > Airport Extreme with a public static IP (69.xx.xx.6), handling DHCP and NAT > Mac Server as DNS Server.Right now, when I connect to my Airport Extreme with any computer, I don't have internet. I don't understand what's wrong. My DNS Server has a reserved IP address: 192.168.226.2 and it's pointing to itself and forwarding the ISP DNS servers, the Airport Extreme is handling the DNS Server IP and the ISP DNS Server IP but I can't connect to the internet from the server. Will Cisco be adding support for OpenDNS in the next firmware release? I have the e4200v2 and want to be able to specify times when I want the filtering to be off. After the kids go to bed. Netgear allows this with their nicely implemented OpenDNS in their routers. I am currently using OpenDNS with this router but don't like having to log in to remove the filtering and then adding it back on when I'm done surfing.
I am running a guest network on my E4200V2. I have changed my DNS servers on the router to use OpenDNS for traffic filtering. The filtering on my non-guest networks is working fine; the OpenDNS test sites are blocked. However, when I use the guest network, the OpenDNS test sites are not blocked. There's obviously nowhere that I can change the DNS settings for the guest network.
I know that parental filtering in the router applies to the guest network, however, it seems that the DNS servers for the non-guest networks don't apply to the guest network. Is this true? Have others seen this?If so, that's pretty disappointing. OpenDNS filtering is much more powerful than the 8-URL blacklist I can create in the router admin. If I want to filter sites for my kids, having a guest network that is essentially wide-open (except for 8 URLs) is not an ideal situation.
I have been using OpenDNS for a long time, and I just got the Linksys E3000. When I tried to change the settings to add OpenDNS it said that some changes may cause the Cisco Connect software not to work anymore.
If I change the Static DNS 1 and 2 [URL] will I still be able to use all of the functions in the Cisco Connect software?
On ACS 4.2.0.124 version installed on Appliance 1113.We are getting error code as "Internal error" and also "Enabling Tacacs+ is not allowed for this Access Server" while client authentication.
The problem is that the PABX is sending out an internal address in it's INVITE messages and the ASA5505 isn't changing the internal address to the external address. We need> From: Calling Number <SIP: SIP Username@Public IP Address>However our PABX sends out> From: Calling Number <SIP: SIP Username@Private IP Address>. How to translate the internal IP address to the external IP address on an ASA 5505?
I bought the EA2700, and put the addresses for the DNS servers of OpenDNS into the Static DNS 1, 2, and 3 so that my internet access is filtered (OpenDNS provides content filtering). However I read online that users can bypass the use of OpenDNS DNS servers by choosing their own DNS servers on their computer network connections. The solution is involves firewall rules that limit DNS servers accessed through port 53 to only OpenDNS.
I'm working on a Dell Vostro 220s running Windows XP with an integrated NIC. It had a few hundred viruses on it and after removing them, I can't get an internet connection. The icon says connected with 0 packets sent and 0 packets received. DHCP is enabled and other computers on the network can connect to the internet. The drivers are installed and detected as working properly. I have rebooted also, with no luck. Ipconfig fails with the error "An Internal error occurred: The request is not supported."
I have an ASA5520 that I need to re-address the two internal interfaces (sec level 100) on. If I can connect to this ASA remotely on the outside interface via ADSM, can I be sure I won't lose connectivity with the ASA while I'm changing the internal interfaces? If I can do this, it would save me a 2,000 mile flight and back Seems doable to me, but thought I'd ask.... I guess I could also engineer a remote access solution that connects to the Mgmt0 interface on the ASA, but that would take time and equipment.
Currently i am having a scenario where i have setup RV042 and which is connected to Microsoft Forefront 2010. PPTP works fine only on rv042 subnet but i am not able to access the "internal" network of TMG.RV042 (172.16.1.1) ---> TMG [external] (172.16.1.2) ---> TMG [internal] (192.168.1.1) Is there any way through static route to access the TMG internal network through RV042 pptp server?
2 Nexus 5020 (SysObjId 3.719) brings internal error in inventory collection as following:"RICS0001: Internal Error, unable to process the collected data from the device".whereby 2 other devices from same type, same sysobjid are working well. SDT from v401 shows this device as supported.
I'm in the middle of a Nexus 5000 project and recognized today while configuring port-channels, that some of the interface numbers are reserved for internal use.
Is it possible to change or configure which port-channel interface numbers are allocated for internal use by NX-OS?
Unfortunatly I wasn't able to find a solution for this issue in the offical Nexus documentation, the search function of this forum or Google. If I did miss something or didn't look careful enough at the Nexus docs, I'm also happy with RTFM (... fine manual) responses and links to the info :-)
I bought a DIR-655 for my parents after their old router died in a planned power outage. It's a rev. B1 model running the 2.00 firmware. It worked fine initially for a day or two with great wireless coverage, even in the previously low-signal spots in the house. Then the problems started. The router now has trouble loading any website. What you get is instead a page returned from the router saying something along the lines of "network unreachable, please check you internet settings" (I will go there today or tomorrow so I'll update the post with the specific error). Refreshing the page a few times sometimes makes it load, but extremely slow and then the same thing happens again a few moments later. The same thing happens on both wifi and through the router's LAN ports. If I connect a computer directly to the modem it works just fine, as it has always done before getting this router.I have disable QoS, NAT endpoint filtering and the firewall (SPI). I have also set the WAN port speed to 100Mbit/s in the router, to match what the modem is set to (also had issues with the default setting).
Earlier today I was attempting to do something with my router settings and ended up reading on the internet that I needed to do a hard reset to access my router interface - when I typed in the IP address, it came to a "could not find server" error in the browser. After doing the hard reset (holding down the reset button for 30 seconds) I was able to access the router, and adjust the settings. After doing this though I was no longer able to connect to the internet through the router, although the router is sending out a signal (it says connected to linksys but "no internet connection"). I am currently connected directly to the modem right now using my laptop.
TL;DR: Did a hard reset on my router, now it's sending out a signal, but no internet. Modem still has internet, as does the router, (the internet button is green).
I play my xbox 360 wired threw my DIR-655 router and when I play online I notice on most games that my nat is strict. Does anyone know how I can change my nat on my router.
I'm connected through the router, a few times a day I cannot open web pages, getting error: Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): Unable to resolve the server's DNS address.Skype continues to work. Here are the results of pinging:

One technician said that this is the providers problem, but I don't think so. When I restart the modem everything works.I have a Netgear WGR614 v9 router.I use ESET 5 security. Btw, connection drops on all computers connected through the router, so it's not my firewall.
