Just bought first wireless router, when i insert CD and start setup, after a few seconds i get Error 301: internal error. i have rebooted and still no luck. I've tried going to 192.168.1.1, i got in one time but didn't understand half the stuff. now i can't go back into that page.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my router, WRT54G2. I was upgrading my firmware when my computer froze up, so I had to exit. Afterwards, I could not connect to the web based setup page anymore. I did a factory reset and installed it again with Network Magic and set up my wireless key. It is working now however, I cannot get into the web based setup page. Whenever i go to 192.168.1.1 and enter my info, it just says 500 Internal Server Error. I was always able to access this page, now I can't, so I assume it's not working because of the interrupted firmware update. I do alot of mac filtering and I limit the amount of IP addresses my router gives out so if anyone hacks my security key, they still won't be able to connect, so accessing my router setup page is important to me. I have reset (hold down reset button for 30 secs - 1 minute) the router many times and still nothing. I mean, the router still works. My brother and I can still connect with our laptops, I just can't get to the web based setup page.

Today I had Hughesnet come and installl their service and I can no longer get access to the Internet from my PC netowrk. my VPN to my office for my IP phone coomes up an works just fine. At the router I do have Internet access which then leads me to believe that my problem is NAT related.
My router is a 2851.
When I enter PING 4.2.2.2 I get !!!!! but when i enter PING 4.2.2.2 SOURCE 192.168.69.3 I get .....

i'm currently studying at a college which has a website with a student intranet that is available to log in from any computer. So far it has been working well and I can log in on my home laptop and upload documents and look at presentations etc. Today for no reason when I try and log in I get the message Error Code 500: Internal Server Error and the webpage does no appear.I have had no problems previously and this has only happened today and yesterday, I went down to the college and accessed the website fine from the computers in the library but still no joy from my home computer.

Every now and then it will decide that 2 of my 3 computers will not be allowed to connect to the internet. and i will have to spend hours of resetting and rebooting computers to get it to work again.. only for the issue to start again a few hours later. I recently added the third computer but im not sure how that would be an issue.

My Linksys WRT120N router was working fine for all of 1 and 1/2 months and suddenly it stopped making the internet connection. At first nothing could access the internet but now that I've reset the router (via the little reset button in the back) my Kindle can access the wireless, but of course no password etc. I actually don't know how to put back the username and password for it. When router is connected: When I troubleshoot the connection by clicking on "Repair Connection" it takes about 2-5 mins "obtaining a new network address" then I get an error saying "The wired connection to your router was not automatically repaired. X Local network: Not connected.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am currently on Time Warner Cable 10 mbps packge, and am using their wireless DOCIS3 modem/router. It is connected in my bedroom to the main computer. That computer stays connected. However, throughout the rest of the house (we have a two story townhome) it will drop completely or give limited connection...constantly. Sometimes I can have my laptop next to me and it will go out or give limited connection. The connection speed never drops, it just goes completely to no connection. Not for sure what is going on, if its on my end or time warner. Has been doing this for quite some time, the cable company comes out and changes the modem, but that's it, couple days later, goes back to doing it again.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an 1841 that was working fine - I could SSH to it with my Radius login and console into it with local credentials ("Fred").I added another use ("Mike") with priv 15 so the end user could log in locally via console if needed.After that, we can both log in via console, but when we try to enter privileged mode we get "% Error in Authentication", before even entering the password.I can still log in via Radius SSH with no problems and access privilege mode via SSH.What am I missing so we can have two different users be able to log in locally with different credentials and access privileged mode, and keep my ssh radius working?

The issue I'm having is that the router is offering me the 192.168.40.* range, however the FTP server is in the 192.168.10.* range. The server works on the local network across several computers, however this issue I beleive is what is preventing me from having it accessed from outside the network.
Any options for getting it to offer me the 192.168.10.* IP range?
Watch youtube? Router resets! Hookup a wired connection? REBOOT! Hookup a tivo wirelessly, use wifi calling, or listen to spotify.. REBOOT!Is there ANY way for this router to NOT reboot randomly?

Connected at 450mbps at close range (maybe 6ft away) and got 223mbps transfer.It seems that recently my signal is much weaker. I'm around 6-8ft away from the router and I'm getting between 270-360mbps, which to me is poor given the short range.InSSIDer says the RSSI is -50, while my other wireless N router (dual band) is -35 and is in the exact same location. I'm using the 5ghz radio only, and it is set to N, and I'm using channels 44 and 48. I checked the hidden advanced wireless page and transmit power is already set to high.My laptop has an Intel 6300 wireless card.I'm using the current firmware 1.0.02,I've noticed that the speed of the router randomly seems to drop off too (just as I type this, the link rate has gone back up to 450mbps... typical). Is the router throttling when it gets hot or something? So I just want to find out if others are experiencing similar rates at the same kind of distance. Seriously, how can you advertise something as 450mbps when you can't even get that link rate at a distance as short as 6ft?I can't see any thing I can do to increase the link speed (back down to 270mbps now), short of a firmware update to increase the power and use higher channels. I hear the higher channels are much better, so who do I have to write to, to plead for new firmware?,This is a great product, but it's totally ruined by stupid internal antennas and a weak transmit power.

I unplugged and plugged the router with no effect. Im using a dlinkddns.com dynamic IP, and have a few ports forwarded for my DVR. The router model is DIR 615. want to change the DNs for speed and filtering purposes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had been working on our client servers through Cisco VPN using internet datacard. But from past 3 weeks after logging into Cisco VPN using my username/password, when I try to connect to any of the servers, it is giving connection timed out error.
Whereas, my team members across other locations are able to connect to the servers using my VPN username/password.
I thought there might be some issue with my laptop or internet datacard. I got my laptop formatted, even tried out with fresh new laptops & new internet datacards, but the issue remains same.
I have tried using vpn_5.0.06.0160-k9 & vpnclient-5.0.05.0290-k9 to connect but issue did not get resolved.
i m trying to connect two routers a Cisco DPC3825 (r1) and DIR-655 (r2) and at the end getting the error. i have disabled the SPI firewall on r1 and connected an ethernet cable lan to lan between the two. i don't want to confuse with whatever the mess i have done previously,Tell step by step what i should do to connect these two routers.PS: in addition, the gateway ip of r1 is 192.168.0.1 with subnet mask of 255.255.254.0 and the gateway ip of r2 is 192.168.0.2 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. r1 has a ip range of 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.128 while r2 has range of 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.

Note that at both locations, my Nexus are connected back to back through the management port using transceivers. So it's a copper cable from the first nexus, going into a transceiver, going to another transceiver in fiber and then back to copper to the other nexus.

"Error 42: Unable to create certificate enrollment request"
When we attempt to use the Online enrollment method to create and enroll a new certificate. There is no additional information in the VPN client logs where we have set 3-High for all logs. In addition, Wire shark does not show any packets sent from the machine running the client to the Cisco 3825 router which runs the Cisco CA.
To create and enroll a certificate we do the following:
1. Click on the Enroll button to show the Certificate Enrollment dialog
2. Select Online
3. Select <New> for Certificate Authority
4. Enter http://192.168.120.1 as CA URL (note, 192.168.120.1 is the IP of the Cisco 3825)
5. Click Next to display the dialog where we can enter certificate details
6. Enter details in all fields except IP Address and Domain
7. Click Enroll which shows a dialog with the Error 42 ... message in it.
If we attempt to create a request by using the File method, all works fine, that is, the client creates a file with the enrollment request. The fact that the client does not send any messages to the Cisco CA leads us to believe that we have a problem on the client machine. However, the client does not write any information in the logs, so it is a bit hard to fix the problem. I can provide additional configuration information if required for both the client and the Cisco CA. Note that we have not modified any client configuration. Basically, we installed the client on a Windows 7 64bit machine and attempted the steps listed above.
I bought a new Linksys WRT120N modem which is working great, but the wireless for some reason isn't working properly. My computer is able to sense the exsistence of the connection tho. I've tried using other computers to connect to it, and still the same problem, can sense but cannot connect.

I'm using an Static IP adress and i'm using wrt120n router, but to connect the internet i have plugged the internet cable in the 1,2,3,4 (doesn't matter which one) slot. So now i'm just using the wirelss part of the router without "routering" if i can say so. When i put the internet cable in the Internet slot of the router, the laptop just cant connect to internet - it shows Unidentified network without Internet Access. I don't know what type of changes i have to make in the WEB interface of the router. I think i have to set the type of the connection - now is DHCP and may be to put my IP adress, DNS, Subnet mask in the router settings, but don't know how exactly. I've tried to set up the router with the CD-interface but same thing happened - Unidentified network when the cable is plugged in the Internet (yellow) port. How to set up the router to be a router, not just a wireless switch?
