I have an e1200 Linksys router hooked up and working well, a wired connection to my first computer a wireless connection to my second (laptop) in the basemen and to my HDTV. My question is what Linksys device would I need to enable me to get a wireless connection in the basement to then hardwire connections to my Blue-Ray player and my HK AVR-3650.

The device "sees" the wireless network (it displays the name) but I seem to get the error that the Wireless Router settings are incomplete - use advance settings to complete setup. When I watch HULU through the player it kills the entire internet connection for all PCs. I have to unplug the router in order to restart it. Everything will also work just fine until the next crash.Here's the thing, I'll watch a bit of the show and see the commercials and the router will only crash when it comes back to the show. If I watched 100 commercials they would not crash, but as soon as it returns to the show CRASH. Restart and we watch again.

The only other devices that we are using wirelessly are our phones, which we never notice a problem with. When it is connected, the signal stength is excellent. It just keeps dropping. Speed 72.0 mbps.

What is the update/cycle time for the device list actually checking connection status of a device?In my situation, it has been 3 days (72 hours) since the two device showing as connected have not been connected to my home network/router. Noticed that this inaccurate connection status for these devices is also contributing to the Device Monitr app not showing correct device connection status info.

Linksys E 2500 - around 5MBytes/s = 40MBPS.After all this testing, got a new Linksys believing that a cisco device should have good quality.My problems is that the connection speed on the device stays a 72BPS whereas on the Netcomm / D-link it used to be 130mbps. Not that this bothers me, however the file transfer speed matches the Link status connection speed.The router was placed at exactly the same location, file transfer was checked by transferring large file sizes.Lan setup is1. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an E3000 with an external hard drive attached via USB with several movies saved on it as ISO's. How to stream a movie to my wireless blu ray player, Sony S580. I was able to stream the iso to a netbook attached to the LCD tv by using VLC on the netbook. The only videos I can access on the blu ray player that are on the external hard drive are home videos I converted to DVD quality before uploading, they're not HD. I can access pictures and music on the blu ray from the external hard drive as well. I tried converting an iso to MVK but was unable to access/find it using the blu ray player.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have WRT54G router. The VIZIO VBR231 unit finds the network OK and indicates it is connected, but nothing will stream, and when I run a Network Test it gives me this 3 line error:
Connection to 0.0.0.0... successfully established
Resolving... could not be established
Please check your connection and try again.
The VIZIO support folks were not beneficial at all, and said something about Port 80 or Port 43 not being open or available. When I talked to linksys support, they said I needed to add the VIZIO player's IP (which appears to be 0.0.0.0 in the system settings). I poked around a bit, including the Port Forwarding tab on the router setup, but could not see a way to assign 0.0.0.0 to one of these ports, and I am hesitant to experiment.
I'll probably just return the unit to Costco, but I'm trying this forum as a last ditch effort. BTW I have a VIZIO internet TV that I love, and that had absolutely no problem at all connecting to the wireless.
I am unable to see my network media player (wired CAT6 or wireless) using the SAMBA Share feature. My UPNP works fine. I do not have this issue when I am using the Linksys WRT54G or a Netgear WNDR3700 (I returned it to give the E3000 a try) - so I know all my share persmissions and device firewall is turned off. How do I get it to work with the E3000? I want to be able to transfer and stream media files to my media player using SAMBA. Usually my network media player automatically detects SAMBA Servers/Devices and adds it to its list for me to access. But when I use the E3000 that is not the case.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Cisco 1200 G AP's connecting 2 different locations. Location A ( La ) I have a RVO82 router connected to a 50Mbit cable connection. I have an AP setup there using a 1 Watt booster and a 24db wire grid directional antenna. Only one antenna here, the other disabled.
At Location B (Lb ), about 1.5 miles away, with good to excellent line of site, i have the other setup as a WGB with a 15db wire grid directional antenna with a 1 Watt booster. Also only one antenna here, the other disabled.
WGB feeds a simple 8 port switch and in that switch i have a simple belkin wireless router setup as an AP for Lb's wireless access,
The signal strenght between the two locations is -49 to -52 db, depending on what time of day I check it.
I have had this setup for a couple of years now. I recently switched from a 3Mbit DSL connection to the 50Mbit cable connection hoping to increase my bandwidth with no luck.

When I first set this up i had a 6Mbit cable connection and it maxxed out at 5 Mbit at Lb. I thought i would be able to add more boosters and antennas as time went on to go from half duplex to full duplex (the way i think of it is one antenna receiving and the other sending, at both locations) so that when our ISP had faster rates available, i could upgrade. I recently read somewhere on the net that it is not possible to run full duplex in the AP to WGB setup i have. Is that true?
My main concern is increasing bandwidth on the WGB side Lb. When i upgraded to 50Mbit, i still only max out at 5mbit at Lb. Before i thought it was due to not being full duplex or weaker signal strengths (I've always had the 1watt booster at Lb, then i added one later to La with no benefit noticed except signal strength is better and uploads seem faster from Lb....)

After intalling AE1000 Driver, I was unable to connect to internet and Wireless network connection appeared disabled in my Network Connections folder. However it is shown to be Enabled in my Device manager screen. no matter what I do, I am unable to enable the connection and connect to internet (when tryiing to enable the connection, a enabling screen pops up, and times out. device still shown to be disabled/grey).
I made the following attempt trying to get this fixed.
uninstalling the deivce and reinstalling it. (doesnt work) uninstalling the device, restart and have the windows update install the device (the deviced was installed. however I am still not able to enable it) Disable & Enable TCP/IPv4 & TCP/IPv6 (doesnt work) uninstalling local Area connection and use wireless to connect (doesnt work) download driver from websit, and install it manually. (does not work) connecting thou CD. I was given a msg telling me to disable my 'other' wireless manager and use the windows wireless manager to connect (i have no idea i had 'Other' Wireless manager >.>) testing whither or not the same adapter works on another PC (it works...) Testing wither or not my router is not working... (well.. im typing right now... so it works...)
Trying to establish a wireless connection from WD TV Live Plus unit to Westell 327W router using an AirLink 150 adapter. The media player sees my network and seems to have a good signal, but keeps telling me "limited or no connectivity." The media player (with adapter) is about 20 feet from the router with direct line-of-sight.Also, 3 other Wi-Fi devices having no problem connecting anywhere in the house.Power down/power up, move adapter to alternate USB port, re-try connection multiple times.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two laptops which connect to the router via wireless. This router is wired to the modem. I can connect each laptop to the router then make an internet connection. This works fine. But if one laptop is connected to the internet, then the other cannot. I have to disconnect the first laptop then reconnect with the second.
I have had this scenario working in the past and can't remember what I have to do to enable both laptops to use the internet connection at the same time.
The internet connection light is blue, i am assuming this means the device thinks that it is connected. However wired or wireless I can't hit any web pages. When I use the internal tools neither can the device ping any address.

I've enabled the Media Server on my E3000 router. My PS3 can see the server and play media from it by my PCs can't!
I'm using Windows Media Player v 12.0 on Windows 7 and some older version on Windows XP and it's my understanding that the Media Server should appear under the "Other Libraries" section but it does not.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the E3000 firmware (I have the latest as of this date) or is the Media Server simply not compatible with Windows Media Player? compatible media player for Windows 7?
I did read a post about a firmware upgrade on the 4200 that broke the media player, but I don't know if such a problem exists for the E3000.
I recently acquired a WMP600N-EU that is running under W7 x64 with the latest Linksys available drivers for download, which unlike the default MS ones, don't enable the Virtual Wifi adapter.Now with this new adapter, the wireless icon starts with the blue circle spinning, and the at the point the other adapter was already connected, it displays the "orange sun" (not connected, connections available) and stays there dead for some 10 seconds. At this point, my router's SSID is already listed. Only after that time it will start to successfully auto-connect to the pre-configured network, whereas windows has already finished loading or the browser launched unable to check mail.This is obviously not a functional fault on the adapter. If I didn't had the previous adapter to compare, I might find it normal. Btw, I've cleaned every previously stored wireless connections.

I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

I have been able to play streaming video via Windows Media Player with no problems for just about forever until last month.No software has changed. i have the latest firmware (2.39.2e) for the router. i am able to play the same videos when i use my AT&T data connection or when i am connected at work, ,so i know it's not the files i'm trying to view. WMP fails to play whether i am hard connected or wirelessly connected.
