View 1 RepliesI have a Hp Pavilion dv9000 that is connected to [code] I phoned up my internet provider who ran a series of test on my laptop and they said it was my laptop that was the problem not the router itself. Tests included some sort of number entry on intenernet explorer "192.6.10020" and i also connected the laptop to the internet with a wire which WORK :) But doesnt continue to work once i disconnect the wire. My internet provider said it was definitely down to my laptop. [code]
View 1 Replies View Relatedi own a HP Pavilion dv9000 windows vista operating system and just a couple of days ago i was able to connect to wireless connections that were in range. The WLAN switch would always turn blue when i turned it on but yesterday morning when i turned on the switch the blue light was now orange and its been like that since? So i clicked to diagnose the problem and it said "Install wireless networking hardware!"

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been looking for a new wireless Card for my HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop. When I inquired to HP Service they gave me a Part number: 441086-001 which translated to a Broadcom Wireless mini PCI 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN card (Intel, KDRN). This turned out to be an upgrade but only to Wireless "N-Draft".
I was hoping to get something in the Wireless "N" dual Band Certified etc. etc.. In other words something designed AFTER the Wireless "N" Standard was finalized in 2007 ( I believe)... tell me if Cisco makes a third Party Internal Wireless Card that will fit into my HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop and bring the wireless capabilities up to current Standards....
I have a HP Pavillon dv6000 laptop, tried connecting to my wireless network this morning but no luck. It will connect fine when using Ethernet cable. Whether the switch is pushed to on or off the light stays orange, when it is connected it used to turn blue. I've included a prtscrn of my device manager...
View 3 Replies View Related I have an issue with my router that disconnects from the internet in variuos situation when my laptop (an hp pavillion dv6) try to connect. It happen everytime when the laptop go in standby. When i turn it on from standby, the router disconnects from the net and the only way to have access to internet again is turn off and then on the router. It happens also when i turn on the laptop if there is yet some other device connected, like my desktop or my iphone or whatever.
Sometimes i have the same problem with my brand new tablet (a sony s) in a slightly different way. I navigate then, after a random amount of time, the router disconnects in the same way and the only way to have back connection is turn off and then on the router.
I have a laptop: HP pavillion dv7 and i can't connect to my wifi. It's not the first time it happens.
Previous time: Couldn't connect, formatted, couldnt connect, took it to a store, it worked there i arrived home and it was working.
This time: I had internet and i was playing Guild Wars 2, it lagged, the connection went down, cant connect to my wifi anymore.
Already tried to reset the router, rebooted the pc, clear all the networks memorized on the wifi list, and this:
"Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults: netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults: netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log" that i saw on another post. I can connect trough cable

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy LAN speed is usually around 5100 via my SpeedTouch router ST585v6. When I am using my Laptop, an HP Pavilion dv6 running Windows 7 with an AMD quad Core cpu, not the fastest of computers!, I seem to get WIFi speeds as low as 1700 whilst at other times can get 5000. Laptop! Is the speed drop a "computer problem" or a router one? If I connect the Laptop to the LAN the speed will always be at about 5100. My desktop computer is connected to the LAN and has a speed of 5100.I have the usual security set on the Router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have setup a new wireless router and then connected to my laptop, my netbook, my ipad and my mobile.. I had no problems initially but the problems arise when sometimes my internet connection goes off.. after that when i switch on the internet connection then, all my device are back on track except for my laptop(HP Pavillion DV6000)
This problem gets solved automatically only sometimes when i restart my laptop. otherwise it does'nt detect my own wifi SSID.. it detects my neighbour'snetwork but not mine
my Pavilion dv6 wifi is not working. My In my device manager my Ralink Wifi Adapter is yellow flagged.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHad a look inside my HP Pavilion p6685l recently and found there wasn't any wifi card which was odd because it's been working fine for months.Device Manager says theres a 802.11n Wireless Lan Card in there but I traced the wires from the ariel to a chip on the board (MSI 2A9C according to Belarc ). Property sheet says it's a Ralink Card and so does the vendor id ( 1814 ) but the device id (3092) belongs to an Intel I20 1.5 Raid Controller which is where I got lost. I didn't know Raid Controllers did wifi.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi card went out in my HP Pavillion dv6000 and I tried installing an external adapter. Actually I've tried 2 different ones and both try and try to connect but can't. The signal is strong but connectivity is weak. I think the problem is that when my brother installed the first one (belkin) he enabled security on my internet connection. He lives in another town and he can't remember what the security code that he put in is. I never had any problem connecting when my internal wifi was working and the connection wasn't secured. how to disable security and make it like it used to be so that I can see if this will let my external card connect? I uninstalled the Belkin and installed a netgear and that wouldn't connect either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a brand new HP Pavilion dv7-6c20us laptop yesterday. I brought it with me to a buddies house last night, and it was working just fine.
When I got it home today, I set up the Internet connection and everything seemed fine. I started up a downloader for a video game (Diablo 3) and saw the DL speed climb up to the usual 800-850kb/s that im used to seeing on my desktop PC. It slowly started to decrease in speed, though.. All the way down to 80 bytes/s.. and then it stopped. The icon in the lower right side of my screen told me that I had a Limited Access(?) connection.. i then diagnosed the problem.. and it repaired it saying that "The Connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and ther internet is broken" I thought that it could be just because i was upstairs, and my router was downstairs... it should still be within range.. but i couldnt think of anything else. So i moved downstairs and i got it again sitting 5 feet away from the router.
It stays connected and then for no reason at all it just dissapears..or loses the connection.. when instructed it will repair it.. only to have it happen moments later.. I just tried surfing the internet without having the downloader for the game going and it took longer, but it still happened 5-10 minutes later.
For the time being, I just plugged the laptop in directly to the modem.. kinda ruins the point of a laptop though, you know!
My Router says "NETGEAR RangeMax Next Wireless Router WNR834B..and I have a Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem - SB5101n
I used to have an HP Pavillion p6340f desktop computer, and then I decided to build my own. I moved the parts I'd installed in it over the years to the new build, plus the wireless card that came with the Pavillion. Strangely, with the same drivers and setup, the card refuses to find any WiFi signals - not the one it was connected to prior to the move nor the other networks around the area. Changing the drivers, uninstalling the device, rebooting - nothing will work. The symptoms are exactly the same as when I moved the card to another slot on the Pavillion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just at a "customer's" house doing some virus removals and what not. After I was done he asked me if I would network his printer to his 3 pc's throughout the house. 2 of the computers worked fine with the printer, but the one laptop (HP dv9000 running Vista 64 bit) wouldn't print unless I restarted it. I could click print, the job would go to the print queue, but that's it. It'd just stay there until I shut down the laptop and restarted it. Soon as vista would boot back up the job would automatically go on through and start printing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe problem is: My Vista laptop cannot find the Wi-Fi hotspot I just create, although it appears on my XP desktop. If I used the included software to make my adapter as a Router, my Vista laptop can find the network and can connect to it. The problem is the internet connection always shows 'Identifying IP address' and later on it shows 'Unidentified IP address'.I also tried to hook up my laptop with the wire connection and using Vista to do the vice versa. (I did this before once when my friends and I went to Vegas and we were able to turn my laptop into a wi-fi hotspot through the hotel's wire internet). I'm able to setup a wi-fi network but:
+ Using the Wireless Connections of Windows XP, my desktop cannot find the hotspot.
+ Using the included software with the adapter, I can connect to the wifi network, but it's unable to go to Internet.
I've got wireless internet which I access on two laptops and an ipod touch.Recently, on the ipod touch I have been able to browse for a while then the internet stops loading pages. It shows I am still connected but I have to turn off the WIFI and then turn it back on again and reconnect and everything is ok for a while. Now it is starting to happen on one of the Windows XP Home laptops.I browse for a while, then pages stop loading. I am still connected. If I turn the WIFI adapter on the laptop off then on again and reconnect I can surf for a while. During the period I cannot surf on the laptop I can on the ipod so there is a live connection beyond the router.

Checking Fn > F8 below main icon (with an antena ) do not show up other four icons below, like they suppose to do. So I'm not even able to try to turn it on. Restarting doesn't do at all. Pushing Wi-fi switch, above the keybord, doesn't even show On/of icon.
