Belkin Routers :: F5D8236 Modem Light Flashes Orange No Internet After Set Up New Laptop
May 22, 2013
Belkin n wireless router model number F5D8236 v1! my modem is showing an internet connection but my router "modem" light is flashing orange and my internet light doesn't even come on. we are not sure but we believe this became a problem last night after my daughter connected her new lap top to the wireless connection.
Belkin F5D8236-4 v1 The Internet flashes amber and goes back to solid blue. It will stay blue on average for up to five minutes (this is not exact times) but on average it happens every five minutes. This is a constant issue. I've contacted my ISP (Comcast) and they said all looks fine on their end. My signals to them are just fine.
Sure, I can bypass the router all together, but my modem will NOT allow me to see any logs to know the issue is happening on their end. I'm feeling a bit confident its a router issue though.
I've reset both Modem and Router. I've made sure my connection was set to Dynamic. My router/security log does not offer up anything at the times this happens, but I do see several listings for "sending OFFER to a local IP of one of our laptops, but this does not match the times the router net light goes amber.
Yes, when the amber light is flashing on the globe/internet icon, I can still access my router page, but it does say DISCONNECTED. It will eventually go back to connected in a few minutes. This router is not very old and I've always praised Belkin routers, so crossing fingers my router is okay, times are tough for so many of us.
Ever since I upgraded my PC to Windows 8 the internet has been SLOW... It works fine still on my tablets and PS3. Looking online they seem to say I need new drivers? Not sure what to do.
I have a N450DB wireless N Router model number F9K1105 and I'm connected to the internet with an occasional interuption. The light on the front of the router is blinking orange and I have reset it and powered it down several times with no luck. According to my settings I have the newest firmware and all updates have been performed.
Have noticed this in almost a regular pattern. About every 3 seconds the internet light whick is blue most of the time will ocassionally flash white then maybe yellow. Does not appear to interupt internet access yet last only a second (at the longest),so don't know if I would notice. Am connected to DSL modem and see no change it its indicator lights,(traffic, collision, lan), when it occurs on the DIR-655. Have three PC's and a network (LAN) printer as well as wireless enabled. BTW is does not matter if wireless is active. What do the different colors mean ?? Blue = Connected White = Yellow =
I was having problems setting up dd-wrt so I wanted to flash back to the Belkin firmware and try again. I went to what I thought was the product page for the N600 and found the latest version of the firmware and flashed to it. The only thing it does now when I plug it in is 2 slow flashes of the green light and then nothing. I tried holding down the WPS button while plugging it in and I get the light to stay green but it doesn't respond to 192.168.2.1.\
I reseted my router because I couldn't go in the login so now eveything is green except the earth looking thing next.the power it is orange Cause I really need my internet
my family kept having a problem with our Billion 6800n router. (or something like that).Basically we pinned the problem down to it not having the strength to keep several connections running through it. So we upgraded to a Billion 7800n and found it is much more stable and much faster. However it has been having a similar problem to our previous router.
Occasionally the internet light drops from green to orange, and we can't load any more pages until it has gone back to green. Here is a picture of what it looks like when in that status. But the weird thing is the connection bars on the windows toolbar at the bottom of the screen still show full strength. As shown here. Now I thought it might be because it was sharing a power board with other connections going through it,so I transferred it to a smaller two-plug one instead.
In my house...I have one router upstairs (Belkin F5D8236-4) and great signal upstairs...downstairs signal is not so swift and sometimes, I can't even get a signal. So I thought let me go purchase a router (router # 2) and set it up downstairs and see if that will improve the signal of my Belkin. The 2nd router I purchased is a Belkin N150 (I thought buy 2 Belkins...maybe they can communicate better?). What I need to know is how do I connect the Belkin N150, to my Belkin F5.. and just use it to strengthen my signal to my downstairs part of the house?
I use comcast as an ISP and bought a zoom router to replace their router. I now want to use my old working Belkin router model F5D8236-4 as a repeater. Meaning I will use it after the Zoom router, wired, to extend the wireless capability to the other side of my house. Does this make any sense?
I am attempting to forward port 25565 on my router, and having some trouble. I've set a static IP address as both 192.168.2.10 and 192.168.2.111, and attempted a dynamic IP address. The port forwarding page via 192.168.2.1 in the browser looks like this, with the Private IP Adress changed to whatever corresponding IP address I have set (checked with cmd /ipconfig).
After testing with multiple online port checking tools, the ports remain closed.
I was going to update my firmware and the update for F5D8236-2 says it is version 2.01.03. At looking in my router it currently has version 2.01.06 (Jul 2 2009 22:24:38)Which should I be using?
Can I set up WPA2 on my Belkin N router F5D8236-4 V3 for a Macintosh running OS10.6.8? And for another machine running OS 10.8? The manual seems to talk about WPA2 for Windows and WEP for Macs, but I can't tell if this is because there are some issues before using the protocols.
I have a F5D8236-4 v2 wireless router. I have had problems with this router nearly since I bought it having to unplug it to reset at least once a day. Now it connects my hardwired PC to the internet, but the wireless led is blinking red. My network ID shows up on my wireless devices, allows me to choose connect and states connected on my wireless network tray icon, but then 2 seconds later it is not connected again. Is this simply a hardware failure that means I will have to buy another new router after only 6 months?
I have several laptops that work fine with my wireless router. I have a new laptop with Windows7 and it will not stay connected for more than a couple of minutes at a time. Are there any issues with this router and Windows7?
Why My Belkin Router F5D8236-4 Ver 2 always rebooting itself. the router lamp is on and then the security lamp is on and then the router rebooting itself. this happening because im push the reset button. im already try to upgrade the firmware with recovering tool (Boot Loader / Tiny Kernel Version v0.02) from 192.168.2.1 but the problem still happening.
IPhone 5 will not play YouTube videos, shows everything else, info and screen pic, but says "playback error" when on wifi. Using a Belkin F5D8236-4v3 router. Works fine otherwise. The IPhone played back video properly on an ATT router. I know how to get to router setup pages but am not very competent in understanding it all.
I can't download an app from Google Play Store. I can download from my 4G network but not the wifi - Belkin F5D8236-4 V3. Google troubleshooting says the firewall is blocking the 'ports required for Google Play to download (TCP and UDP 5228) on that network.' However, with the firewall 'disabled,' the download is still not working.
I have a Belkin N Wireless Router Model F5D8236-4 V2. WEP security.. We have just bought a Samsung Note 10.1 Tablet. We have entered the password Key and the tablet is saying that the network is 'secured, saved' but it will not connect to the internet. We have several laptops and phones that work ok but the Samsung Note will not connect.. We have taken the Note to a friends house and it connects to the internet no problem so I know issue is with the router..
F7D1301 v1 is my router model. i installed it this morning; all was working fine; then i changed password; still working fine; then i attempted to change pw a second time; router turned to solid orange and no matter what i try, i can't get it working again. i reset it, unplugged it, etc.
Does my Belkin F5D8236-4 ver. 1 (firmware 1.00.02) router support Apple's Bonjour print application. I can't get my iPhone or iPad to recognize my new HP Photosmart 7520 wireless printer which is connected to my network through my router.
I have a Wireless N router model F5D8236-4 v2 (01) with firmware 2.00.04 (Nov 12 2008 10:51:08) and it's not showing all issued wireless or Wired IP addresses in DHCP Client List.
They all have IP addresses and connect to the internet through the router, but in the router administration page, they're not listing. The Windows devices all show but most of the Mac devices are not, nor is my XBox 360.
My reason for investigating this is because the router seems to keep losing the Mac devices and a router reboot fixes it, but it shouldn't have this problem because all the Windows devices just seem to work.
According to the support page I have the latest available (dated November 12, 2008 which really seems kinda old to me for a Wireless N router). Are there any plans for a new firmware offering for this modem or have you already deprecated it as "legacy equipment"?
I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on. Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second. 4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on). Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS! All the lights are green.
Dir-655 Hardware A1/a2 Firmware 1.35NA
I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
