F7D1301 v1 is my router model. i installed it this morning; all was working fine; then i changed password; still working fine; then i attempted to change pw a second time; router turned to solid orange and no matter what i try, i can't get it working again. i reset it, unplugged it, etc.

I was told by my Internet company that my router may not be compatible with my new modem (from them). I have a Basic Wireless Router. Model f7d1301. Purchased about 1 year ago. I was told that Belkin designs it this way so we have to buy a new one regularly. But 1 year!!! That is terrible. Is it true? Is this older router no good? I have purchased a new one and it seems to,have solved the problem. It does take me very happy that I already have to buy a new one....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was having problems connecting to one of my usb devices that was plugged into my router. I unplugged the router to reset it and whenever it starts up it flashes green and the green light goes solid for less then a minute before turning red. It's a solid red light. I've tried unplugging everything and restarting it and nothing. Ironically it still lets me connect to the internet but when I access the control panel on my computer it shows as disconnected. Is this means my router is busted. This is my second Belkin Router and the only reason I had to replace the last one is because it was a G+Mimi router and I upgraded to an N Router.

The light doesn't blink or flash. As a consequence, my wifi devices aren't connecting to the internet, however i can connect via my pc normally through my modem. I've ran belkin setup from the disc multiple times and it gets to the part where it says connect and make sure cables are connected. All cables are connected, but my router has a solid amber light. Networking is almost an unknown to me. An ip config on the computers in the network brought the realization there are 2 sub-nets ... at least it looks like there are 2 sub-nets (192.168.1.x, and 192.168.2.x).
My gut tells me the above mentioned modem/router cannot be connected & configured to be used transparently for the computers connected to the other modem/router without additional hardware. Is this right?

The small LED lights located at each network cable plug-in on my router are continually blinking orange all at the same time over and over.
I also notice on all my computers that are wired to this router the small LED lights near the network card plug-in are also blinking orange.
what these orange lights mean and if I have a problem?
My internet service seems to work OK but I'm not sure what is causing all these orange LED's to blink and is there something wrong that imay be slowing my system down.
I have upgraded my Cisco router to the latest firmware and also power reset my cable modem and router several times with no change in the problem.
I recently replaced my old Belkin Pre-N router with a newer N router. Still, the newer one is only less older than my Pre-N Belkin router that I had sitting around but never opened and installed (F5D8231-4). Anyway, I finally decided to set it up. I was trying to log into the router to set security settings and to update the firmware but when I type the IP address into the address bar in IE or Firefox, it is partially blank. There are no functional buttons. Only the Belkin logo on a gray background with a couple of emtpy boxes where it looks like functional buttons or tabs should be. how to get to a working screen with functional buttons?

Figured out it wasn't the modem but the isp.After I woke up the next morning I found the wireless not to we working again but the hard connection to be just fine. I have tried resetting the router but I'm not entirely sure I went through. The orange light no longer comes on. Wired connection also doesn't work while connected to the router. I have tried 192.168.1.1 and nothing loads. The router and modem are about 5 or 6 years old. A windows xp desktop, windows 7 and vista laptops are on the network with a blue ray player.the router is a wrt54gs2 v7
I think i have to reconfigure the router but I'm not sure. If that's the case why am i having trouble with 192.168.1.1?

I can connect it to my Nexus tablet, to my desk-top and my lap-top, so I know there is nothing wrong with the router itself. Every time I try to connect the phone, it locates the network, scans, authenticates, but then says "Disabled" and the message: "Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK" with "locked network" symbol. What does this mean? This is on the label that came with the router: "Security Type WPA/WPA2" but I don't know what to do in order to remove the lock. The phone is a Vodafone Smart Chat and I bought it specifically to be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks.

After I straightened out the mess of wires from everything and made sure all the connections were good all the other components including my satellite modem were working fine, but the wireless router won't reconnect. It's working fine with a cable but won't work wireless even though the blue indicator shows the actual router to be working okay. I've repeatedly reset/re-powered the router to no avail. Firmware is up to date.
